I've been dating Sam for 4 months now, so far its been the best 4 months of my life. The only thing that ruins it is us being a secret. I met Sam when she moved to SunnyVale, we both moved their on the same day and after that, we got along well.

1 month after meeting each other, we got together but we couldn't tell anyone. Her mum was homophobic and I'm guessing other people in SunnyVale were too, due to the rude comments i would hear around school. I did understand Sam wanting it to be a secret back then...

But now- we're in ShadySide. In ShadySide, nobody seems to care who you're dating! Sam's friends don't even know we're dating...okay, I understand Deena not knowing as shes Sam's ex. But everyone else could know.

Today, Sam and i were cuddling in my room, she came over because my parents weren't home. Yes- my parents dont know either. As i was running a hand through Sam's hair, I whispered: "Sam sat up to look at me, a guilty yet upset look on her face.

"Y/n.." "No- Sam, there's nothing to hide anymore. Everyone knew you dated Deena. Why can't they know about me?!" I sighed in frustration and got up, running a hand through my hair. Sam remained sat on the bed looking down. "D-do you not want people to know..." I mumbled with my voice cracking and this caused her to get up and cup my cheek in her hand.

"No Y/n, i want everyone to know. I want to scream out loud that i love you, kiss you when everyone is watching...but.." she paused and i looked into her eyes. "But what Sam?" She took a deep breath. "My mum..she doesn't like you. Deena wont like you if i tell her...i cant let you deal with that stuff Y/n, you've been through enough hate when people bullied you in SunnyVale!" She explained, my heart fluttered.

"Sam, i can deal with a little hate babe, it's okay" I chuckled lightly and a small smile formed on her pink lips, but it soon disappeared again. "I just don't want you to deal with shit just because of me" she said and i smiled softly. "If I'm with you and everyone knows, all that shit will be forgotten about...I won't care about it" she glanced at me with an uneasy look.

"Are you sure?" She asked and I laughed. "I'm very sure Sam, now lets just tell everyone at school tomorrow, alright?" And finally, a wide smile came across her face and she pulled me into a big hug. "I CAN FINALLY KISS YOU IN BROAD DAYLIGHT!" She squealed and i started laughing and hugged her back. The next day...everyone accepted us, but Deena was heartbroken...
