The sound of Aang's voice caused Uzume to pause her braiding Katara's hair. Everyone was in their nation's clothes, excluding Uzume who borrowed a Water Tribe outfit from Katara so she wouldn't be attacked during the invasion.
Katara looked up from her hands, "Sounds like you slept well."
Aang gave the girl a big smile, "Like a baby mooselion. I'm ready to face the Fire Lord." Uzume gave him an encouraging smile. He needed all the positivity he could get with today's plans.
"So what's your strategy for taking him down? Going to get your glow on and hit him with a little Avatar State action?" Toph asked while punching the air. The entire group looked at Aang expectedly and he looked away dejected.
"I can't. When Azula shot me with lightning, my 7th chakra was locked, cutting off my connection to all the cosmic energy in the Universe." Uzume's heart throbbed at his sad tone.
She placed a hand on his shoulder and gave him a weak smile, "Sorry my best friend killed you and made you lose the Avatar state." She tried to say helpfully. Sokka turned to the brunette in shock.
Toph brushed off Uzume's words, "You know what I just heard? Blah blah spiritual mumbo jumbo blah blah something about Space and Uzume's killer best friend."
Sokka's face turned red as he interrupted the discussion, "Why does Azula get to be classified as Uzume's best friend and not the psycho she actually is?" Uzume gasped at Sokka's harsh words and slapped his shoulder.
Before the two could childishly fight, Katara spoke from where she was standing, "Oh no. Sokka, do you think the fog will delay the invasion?"
Sokka stood up to look at the fog that his sister was worried about and he spoke with excitement, "No, that is the invasion." Uzume shoved Sokka aside to see what the siblings were seeing.
Out in the water were 5 Water Tribe ships coming out of the fog. Two men stood together in armor and Uzume felt herself get nervous. Today they were going to end the war.
Aang and Toph earthbended rocks so the ships could dock. A man stepped down from the ships, immediately being attacked by Katara and Sokka's affection.
"You made it Dad!"
Their father eyed Uzume curiously, "Who's this? Is she the warrior you fell in love with Sokka?"
Sokka and Uzume looked at each other before the man's words settled in. Uzume immediately jumped away from Sokka with a red face, "No, sir, I'm actually engaged to someone else."
"This is Uzume, Uzume, this is our father Hakoda." Katara introduced them.

Hakoda raised an eyebrow, "Where's the betrothal necklace," He gestured to Uzume's blue clothing, "And why aren't you with him-" Before he could continue to ask questions, Sokka interrupted him.
"Were you able to locate everyone I told you to find?" Sokka asked the man.
Hakoda's attention averted from Uzume, "I did. But I'm a little worried, Sokka," He gestured to two benders that were coming from the ship, "Some of these men aren't exactly the warrior type."
One of the men spoke with wonder, "Whooo-wheee. This place ain't nothing like a swamp," He pointed to a rock, "What'd you reckon that is, Tho? Some sort of exploding Fire Nation exploding trap that would eat ya?"
Uzume giggled to herself, there was no such thing as a rock trap eating you. Exploding? Yes.
Tho shook his head, "It's just a rock, Due."
"Well, I'll be." Due responded.
The Water Tribe man eyed them skeptically, "Is it just me, or are those fellas a little loose in the leaf head?"
Another man joined the group, "I just wish they would wear pants."
"Hi, Katara." Another boy interrupted. He wore green clothing and Uzume winced at his horrendous facial hair. Katara, however, wasn't fazed by the mustache because she embraced the young man.
Aang walked to the boy, "Uzume, Toph, this is Haru. When we met him, his town was controlled by the Fire Nation. So we had to hide his earthbending."
"Katara inspired me and my Father to take back our village." Haru praised the young waterbender.
Haru's father placed his hands on the two teens shoulders, "You helped us find our courage, Katara. Now we're here to help you."
Toph jumped in her spot and turned, surprised, "No way." Uzume, seeing Toph get into a fighting stance, pulled her fans from her belt, ready to fight any danger with Toph. A huge man cut off Toph's sentence by picking her up and embracing the short girl.
"Hippo happy to see Blind Bandit!" Uzume gazed up at the tall man with slight horror in her eyes, "Let her down!"
Toph shouted from his arms, "You guys here for a re-match?"
Another man answered, "Negatory. The Boulder and The Hippo no longer fight for others' entertainment. Now, we fight for our Kingdom!" The Boulder spoke with enthusiasm.
Toph smiled, "Sweet." Uzume looked at the three in disbelief, "You guys were weird before I joined."
Sokka pulled Uzume away from the earthbenders, full of excitement as more people came off the boats. A man popped up from the lower deck of a boat, face orange. A young boy wheeled his way down, acting as if the man was being normal.

Sokka didn't seem fazed either, "Was that a new invention?"
The man with the crazy hair nodded, "Yes. But unfortunately, the incendiary capabilities of peanut sauce proved to be a failure."
"You're making peanut sauce bombs?" Uzume asked in disbelief.
A large man with a comically smaller boy on his back spoke up, "They're destructive."
The smaller boy added on, "And Delicious!" They both licked the sauce off their faces. Mom helped them as he licked their faces too.
Sokka averted his attention back to the inventor, "Were you able to complete work on the plans I sent you?"
"Yes, I was and I think the Fire Nation would be quite surprised." Uzume raised an eyebrow, excited to see what would catch her home nation by surprise.
The young boy in a wheelchair wheeled up to Aang, "Aang, my dad and I made this for you." He handed a staff to the airbender.
"A new glider! This is amazing."
"And as a special feature, I added a snack compartment!" He placed his head under the compartment and twisted the handle.
"Oh well, I'm sure that will come in handy."
Uzume watched everyone interact with a confused look on her face, "Sorry to interrupt everyone's reunion, but who are you guys?"
After she was formally introduced to the group, it was time for Sokka to go over the plan while they ate. Sokka stood beside her, holding a bunch of scrolls nervously.
"Don't worry, you'll do great." Hakoda said. Sokka looked at Uzume for confirmation. The girl smiled at him and gave him a thumbs up. Sokka took a deep breath and walked onto the platform.
"Good morning, everyone!" Sokka tripped on his way up causing him to drop all his scrolls. After he hurriedly picked them all up he stood stiffly.
"Uhm... So, as you know today we're invading the Fire Nation. I mean I know you know that. Because otherwise why else would you be here. Anyway..." He dropped more scrolls and when he stood up again, he locked his knees. Uzume winced, knowing he could pass out from locked knees.
"Bend your knees, Sokka!" She whispered on stage to the boy.
"Send the bees!" Sokka nervously repeated what he thought Uzume said. He smiled at the confused crowd nervously.
"The Fire Lord's palace is here," He points at a map of the earth kingdom, "Uh no, uh wait," He flipped through his maps, "uh wait, uh wait. It's here and uh there's an eclipse today and Aang's going to fight the Fire Lord and the firebenders won't have any fire to use so that's good for us and uhm..." Sokka took a deep breath, "I'm sorry, let me start at the beginning."
"Katara and I discovered Aang frozen in an iceberg. Now I didn't like Aang at first but I grew to love him over time. Then we went over to the Southern Air Temple where Aang used to live and then we met Suki, who is a Kyoshi warrior. She made me dress like a woman and then she kissed me...and then Aang's friend was a crazy old man and then Katara got Haru arrested and then now he's grown a mustache and if you look in the front row you can see him..."
Hakoda stepped on stage, interrupting his son, "Thank you, Sokka. It's okay, why don't you take a break?" Sokka sat down next to Uzume sadly, "Let me just clarify a few points for everyone. Today is the Day of Black Sun and I want to thank you all for your self sacrifice and your courage. There are two steps to the invasion. A naval stage and then a land stage. To gain sea access to the Fire Nation capital, we have to get past our first major obstacle here. The Great Gates of Azulon. Next, we hit the land and we hit hard. We must fight past their battlements and secure the plaza tower. Once we do that, it's up to the royal palace. At that point, the eclipse will begin." Uzume raised an eyebrow at the plan. She felt ten times more confident hearing the plan, knowing Azula only knew they were invading and that's it.
The Boulder raised his hand, confused, "Excuse me, The Boulder is confused. Isn't the point to invade during the eclipse? When the firebenders are powerless?"
"The eclipse only lasts 8 minutes. Not enough time for the whole invasion and the royal palace is heavily guarded by firebenders. So that's where we'll need the eclipse advantage the most. When this is finished, the Avatar would have defeated the Fire Lord. We would have control of the Fire Nation capital and this war would be over!" Hakoda finishes his speech, causing everyone to cheer around them.
Uzume felt happiness and fear rush through her body. The war will finally be over and she'll be reunited with Zuko.
