"brian, get the door!" shawn yells, making anya roll her eyes from the other side. everyone was supposed to meet at shawns condo, and they would all get uber's to the venue where john was playing. "fine, i'll get it!"

shawn stumbles over to the door, beer in his hand, answering the door, slightly shocked but not complaining to see anya.

"isn't it a bit too early?" anya asks, motioning to the bottle of beer.

"i have sangria inside," he says to her, as she grins, walking inside and straight past him. "no hello to me?"

"sorry, hi!" she says, turning around, before going to the table where all the drinks are, pouring herself a glass of sangria.

"anya! hey," lauren greets anya with a hug, embracing her tightly, clutching her drink in her hand.

"hey babes!" anya says, kissing both of her cheeks. "ready for john?"

"hell yes," lauren chuckles. "dude, where's your top from? i'm in love," she says, looking at the white shirt anya's wearing, which was actually a men's shirt that she tied just under her bralette.

"the h&m men's department," she chuckles, taking a sip of her wine. "i made it girly with the bra, don't worry."

"alright, everyone's here, so should we order the uber's?" shawn yells loudly at the group, holding his phone out.

"how many do you think we should get?" jon asks, looking at the group of the eight of them.

"i'm sure we can all squeeze into a big one," anya shrugs, as everyone comes to the drinks table to organise the cars. "yeah, let's just get a big one."

"sounds good," shawn agrees, typing a few things on his phone, ordering the uber. "alright guys, come on, it'll be outside in four minutes."

little did anya know, she was about to make the biggest mistake of her life.

"there's no more space," brian notices, sitting comfortably in the car, while anya and shawn still need to get into the car. "shawn, i thought you ordered a big one?"

"so did i!" he complains. "you know what? leave it, anya and i will just get another car, you guys go."

"are you sure?" ian asks the two carefully. "anya, you can take my seat-"

"no, it's fine," she pushes out a small smile, looking back at shawn. "we're getting along okay." anya notices lauren and brian smile to each other, nodding. she scrunches her face up in confusion, before sighing and shutting the car door, letting the group drive off.

"i can always order us separate cars-"

"don't worry," anya mumbles, folding her arms and waiting on the sidewalk with shawn. "just order an uber."

"alright," he nods, typing away on his phone again. "it'll be here in two minutes."

"cool," she responds, nodding.

"so, when we get there, john wants to see you and i," he begins. "hopefully we'll get there early so everyone can be settled in the box, and we can go and say hi."

"yeah that's fine," anya answers, looking around for the car. "what car is it?"

"toyota prius," shawn answers simply. "anya-"

"there it is," a car pulls up next to them, and anya gets in immediately, not wanting to talk to shawn at all, especially after she opened up to him at that awkward dinner.

shawn looked at the girl next to him, holding in his scoff as she looked down at her phone. he sighed, leaning his arm on the window, looking outside, wanting nothing more than to get out of the car and rejoin their other friends so it would be less awkward.

after the fairly silent ride, shawn and anya left, escaping to the place where they would meet the rest of their friends, hopefully with no one spotting shawn and stopping him for photos. he loved meeting fans, but he really didn't want to tonight.

"shawn-"

"oh, so she finally decides to speak to me?" shawn shoots out, stopping in his tracks, which were five steps ahead of anya. she stares at him, obviously confused, and slightly hurt.

"what the heck did i do to you?" she asks, folding her arms. "i was only gonna ask you to slow down, some of us don't have spider legs like you," she mutters.

"no, anya, you haven't spoken a word to me since we got into that fucking car, that i paid for by the way, you say that we're getting along, yet you freaking ignore me, and be awkward to me all day." he argues back, making anya stand there in shock.

"oh relax, that ride was ten dollars, if you're so fucking uptight about spending ten dollars with your extortionate salary, i'll give you ten dollars!" she says back to him. "you're actually pathetic, shawn."

"i'm pathetic? what about you, miss 'i won't forget about that one time shawn ditched me on my birthday because i was a clingy little bitch who always wants everything to revolve around myself'. news flash, sweetie, everything's not all about you, i have my own life to live, and if i don't want to hang around your stupid ass, i won't," he says to her. "god, i'm so glad i didn't turn up to your damn party."

"fuck you," she says to him, shaking her head. "tell john i'm sorry for not coming," she mumbles, before turning around and walking away.

"anya wait," shawn sighs, running towards her and grabbing onto her shoulder.

"don't touch me," she mutters, turning around and facing shawn, her eyes going glassy. "i never thought you would ever be like this."

"anya, i'm sorry," he says guiltily, noticing what he's done.

"i don't need your pity," she spits out. "i know exactly how you feel now." with a turn of her head, she walks away, heading straight into a taxi.

how will shawn explain this to his friends now?

anya pulls her duvet closer around her, walking to her couch with the ice cream tub in her hands. she opens it up, spooning the dessert immediately, eating away her feelings. was she really as stuck up as shawn insisted? is that why she only had one groups of friends in high school? is that why her childhood sweetheart broke up with her?

a knock at her door snaps her out of her thoughts, and she sighs immediately, placing the ice cream down onto the coffee table, and wandering to her front door. she opens it up, revealing her friends, minus shawn, all standing at her door, not his.

"i thought you guys were at the show?" she asks softly.

"yeah, i managed to get out of shawn why you weren't there, so when he went to go see john, we all left," lauren explains, holding out a bottle of wine. "so we came here to cheer you up."

"aw guys," anya says gently, a small smile lining her lips. "wait, shawn doesn't know, right? because if he finds out, he's gonna be so pissed at me-"

"anya, we don't care," ian interrupts. "you're our friend too, and if he makes a mistake, we're here to cheer you up," he explains, making anyas cheeks flush, and her gaze move down to the floor.

"i really don't deserve you guys," they all come in and envelope her in a big group bear hug, making her chuckle quietly.

"by the way, we're staying over too," brian tells her, cracking open a beer, and handing her the bottle. "fuck shawn, he's gonna get nowhere if he's a bitch." anya laughs, taking the bottle and a long needed sip of the drink.

"i just don't understand it, i mean after we slept together i thought things would be less- wait," the group of friends stare at anya in shock, their eyes wide and confused. "i just said something, didn't i?"

"hunny, i think you said more than just something," jon tells her. "excuse me? you slept with shawn?"

"we were drunk!" she groans. "it was after that party, one thing led to another and it just happened," she mumbles, sitting down on her couch again, and sipping on her beer. "i just thought after that, and a dinner we had the day after where i opened up to him, things would go back to the way they were before him and i fell out."

"do you miss being friends with him?" brian asks her, as lauren gets under the duvet with anya.

"sort of, it's just hard sometimes, like especially when we're both working, it's like awkward. i see something funny and i want to tell him about it, but it'll just never happen, you know? he hates me, and will hate me forever."

"he's such a dick, god," lauren says loudly, making the group snigger softly.

"you were the one who dated him, so i have to remind you?" ian laughs, taking a sip of his drink.

"well yeah, but now he's such a dick. you don't say those things to anyone, no matter your inner feelings," lauren states. "yeah, he might despise anya, but he has no reason to. he just started to not like her."

"i mean, he said stuff to us about it, but i don't know if i wanna repeat it," brian says. "i punched him for saying it, you know?"

"what did he say?" anya asks softly, a frown finding its way onto her face.

"anya i really don't want to s-"

"he basically called you a slut for getting with that jason guy. he didn't like the way you were throwing yourself around or something like that, so he got annoyed and found things he didn't like about you, and therefore he didn't come to your birthday," lyall explains.

"dude! shut up!" brian says, slapping lyall's arm.

"and then he started telling jason bad things about you, straight after your 17th, so i guess that's why you guys broke up," ian adds. lauren glares at him, as he sighs. "what? she had to find out at some point?"

"w-wait what?" anya asks, tears filling her eyes. "h-he what?"

"i'm so sorry, anya," brian says to her gently. "i didn't realise how much he's actually done."

"s-so he's the reason jason broke up with me?" she mumbles, letting a tear roll down her cheek. "oh my god," she mutters. "oh my god!" she stands up immediately, her eyes and stature fuming, whilst she rushes to her front door, the group of friends following her eagerly.

"anya wait, don't do something you'll regret-"

"let her, she needs to. he fucking deserves it," lauren mutters, ian and lyall agreeing with her. anya doesn't listen, and walks outside, rushing up to shawns door and knocking loudly.

"shawn mendes i swear to fucking god if you don't open this fucking door right now-"

"anya?" shawn asks, walking through the corridor, and seeing the fuming girl outside his door, along with their friends surrounding. "oh, so you guys came here? to her? why-"

anya cuts him off, slapping his cheek firmly. her breath becomes ragged, and she lets the tears flow down freely.

"what the fuck was that for?" he yells.

"fuck you!" she screams. "you're such a fucking dickhead!"

"someone take her back home, she's going crazy, and i can smell the alcohol from here," shawn says to the rest of his friends.

"you're really don't fucking care, do you?" anya yells at him.

"uhm, we'll see you guys later," shawn says, suddenly confused, and dragging anya into his condo, shutting the door behind him.

it was going to be a long night.
