《Gentleman ♡》24) "Jameria"

Hey guys, so this is a filler chapter from Jamie and DeVante's pov which means, if you don't read it you're not missing anything, but if you do read it you'll know about how she ended up in her situation. Enjoy💓
"You don't even care about how I fucking feel, you're a bitch!" Braden yells, as he packs all of his things.
I sit on my bed, just listening as he calls me everything but a child of God. Cause maybe he ain't wrong. I never considered his feelings when I was out with other guys. I guess because he never said anything even when he knew what was going on.
Now watching him pack his shit, it's all going from sugar to shit.
But I don't blame him.
"I love you. That's the only reason I put up with your shit." He says, more to himself than to me.
He throws some more of his clothes in a bag before tossing the bag over his shoulder angrily.
I'd be lying if I said I ain't gonna miss him. Braden is a good guy, but he's ready to settle, have a family and allat shit. I feel like we're too young and I'm not ready for that type of life yet.
"I'm sorry, and I want you to be happy." I say, looking down at my hands in my lap.
Braden just sucks his teeth before grabbing his other bag and leaving my bedroom. I get up from the bed, following him to the front door, which he slams in my face. I look out the window as he puts the bags in his trunk, and then finally speeds off.
I let out a long breath.
I need to go out and get drunk before the loneliness sets in.
The music in this dark bar is making me wanna off myself.
I take a sip of my vodka as someone sits next to me.
"Gin and tonic." He says to the bartender.
I glance at him briefly before minding my business once again, but I can feel him staring at me, and ian never liked niggas that stare.
"Do you like what you see?" I ask, my tone sharp and annoyed. He chuckles as our eyes meet, making my breath get caught in my chest for a split second.
"I do actually."
I don't respond, that's not the response I normally get.

"Whats your name?" He asks, downing his drink and signaling for another one.
"Jameria." I say, while taking in his appearance. He obviously has some money in the bank. He has on a black button down and slacks to match. I watch the bartender pour him another drink before asking for his name.
"DeVante." He says, a playful smirk on his face.
I turn away from him, I don't know if it's his eyes or the vodka but I'm getting loopy.
"I've never seen you in here before." He says, "I would've remembered."
I sip from my drink again before looking over at him. Our eyes meeting briefly before I turn away signaling for another drink to the bartender.
"This is only my second time here." I say.
There's silence between us for a while before he takes a container out of his pocket and opens it, he takes a pill out and pops it in his mouth before sipping his drink.
"Pretty sure you ain't supposed to take medicine with alcohol." I say, making him chuckle.
"You kinda nosey huh?"
"I mean you sitting right next to me, you wasn't exactly being private with it." I say, looking around the bar again as it seems to grow really quiet.
"Well since you being nosey, this ain't that type of prescription. Taking it with a lil something makes it better if you catch my drift." He says, making me furrow my eyebrows.
"So you a crack head?"
DeVante bursts into a fit of laughter, I catch a glimpse of his amazing smile making something turn in my stomach.
"Nah, it just knocks the edge off." He says, a smirk still playing on his face.
I don't say anything for a while wondering if my next question could ruin my life. But it won't hurt to have a little fun right? I just got dumped for fucks sake.
"Can I have one?" I ask.
"Sweet heart this ain't candy. I don't know if you could handle it." He says, a playfulness to his expression.
I roll my eyes before holding out my hand, palm facing up.
"Try me."
DeVante chuckles, pulling out the container again and placing the small white pill in my hand.
I roll it around in my palm, trying to decide if I should actually take it or not. He seems fine, but then again it's only been a couple minutes since he took it so I doubt he can feel anything right now.

I glance up at him, he's staring again. Finally DeVante picks up my glass and hands it to me. "Bottoms up sweet heart. You scared or something?" He chuckles. I roll my eyes before taking it and downing my vodka before placing the empty glass back on the bar.
"Now what?" I smile.
"We wait." He says, leaning back into his seat.
I bite my bottom lip nervously, maybe I should have taken it. Am I an idiot? I don't even know this guy.
"We should get outta here." DeVante suggests, leaning over slightly, I can feel his breath on my neck.
"And go where?" I raise a brow at him.
"Your place."
"Why not your place?" I ask, making him shake his head, a goofy smile on his face. "There's people there." He says.
"Well my place isn't exactly visitor ready at the moment." I say, briefly thinking of all the clothes scattered everywhere as Braden searched for his various shirts and other things that seemed to be lost in my drawers.
DeVante nods slowly.
"You mind a hotel room then?" He asks.
We both stare at each other for a while before I clear my throat, looking away from him.
"Not at all." I say.
~
We just lay here staring at the ceiling, both our bodies beaded with sweat and the realization of where we are as the high starts to wear off.
"Can I tell you something?" I ask, turning over to face DeVante, he faces me.
"Yea."
"My boyfriend left me today." I say, my tone a little sadder than I intended.
"Well he's a idiot." He says, smiling at me and pulling me a little closer to him. I just smile back, relieved that he didn't press for more information.
"Can I tell you something now?" He asks, a nervousness suddenly on his face.
I nod.
"I'm a pimp." DeVante says, pulling away from me a little. I furrow my eyebrows, sitting up, holding the sheets up to cover my breasts.
When I don't respond he sighs, shaking his head.
"I shouldn't have said-"
"That must be why your place was off limits." I chuckle, trying to lighten the mood. I can tell he isn't exactly proud of it, and the last thing I wanna do is shame him.
"Yea." He says, a small smile on his face.
I lay back down beside him, our faces just inches apart. "I've had fun with you tonight De." I say.
"Me too."
"We should do this again soon." I say.
"Definitely."
When I wake up, DeVante is gone. I roll out of the bed, looking for my clothes, only to find them folded neatly in a chair in corner of the room.
He's so sweet.
I get dressed and go into the bathroom to make my appearance a little more put together. That's when I see a piece of paper beside the sink.
I smile to myself, running my fingers over his messy hand writing. I read his phone number out loud before folding the piece of paper up and putting it in my bra.
"What the fuck is going on around here?" I raise my voice slightly as I close the door of my house.
"Where the hell have you been?"
"We been worried sick about you."
"Why you ain't answer the phone?"
The ladies bombard me with questions, as I place my keys on the living room table.
"With all due respect, that ain't none of yall damn business." I say, making all of them go silent. "Now take yall asses up to yall fucking rooms and get ready to do ya damn jobs!"
They mumble under their breath as they each shuffle up the stairs to their rooms. Doors slam one at a time making me chuckle slightly. It's too damn early for they shit.
My mind wanders back to my night with Jameria. I've spent the night with plenty of other women before, but she seemed different. I felt like I could tell her anything. Her vibe seemed vibrant yet burdened.
She's different.
Laying there with her made me think of things I've never thought of before..
Like a relationship.
God knows I don't want anything serious. Love leads to all types of fucked up shit that I don't wanna experience again.
But seeing her again, that's something I could do, just hanging out and talking.. and fucking of course.

Milton
A Cyberpunk Coming of Age Tale The Apocalypse is ugly. The only lights that work are battery powered or neon. Scroungers kill your neighbors and take control of their bodies. For Milton, things changed for the better. The world became familiar. He could find loot, learn skills, and equip weapons and armor. It was all much easier to understand than the perils of pre-Apocalypse life with its grocery shopping and going outside. Then he discovers Ragnarok, Orchestrator of the Rainbow Letters and all of Milton’s problems. The race to figure out why is on. If Milton is to survive long enough to find answers, he must first be strong enough to confront his worst enemy: himself. * This is work in progress and NOT professionally edited. * ** This story is humorous in the begining, but gets very dark around the turning point. The Weaver's Burden (HIATUS)
Weavers... this lot has been synonymous with freaks at best, and devil worshipers at worst, since they were first found. Thankfully, they make up a negligible number of people, but they can still be incredibly dangerous. Oftentimes, they wind up killing themselves or others when their ability to perform magic begins to manifest, acting as a sort of natural culling process for weavers. However, this was well before the Republic of Sidia realized that the ability to manipulate reality can be reigned in, controlled. So if you had the chance to turn something dangerous into a weapon, why wouldn't you? This is what fate awaits a young man named Emmet. After his weaving manifests and blood is on his hands, he is given a choice: the gallows, or the Esphell Monastery. What awaits Emmet at the monastery? What is this magic, and how can he control it? What happens to weaver's once they are properly trained? And most importantly, will he survive long enough to have these questions answered?
