《Gentleman ♡》11) "can we talk?"

Quick A/N - the POV goes back and forth alot between Pac and Adrienne because they spend alot of time together in this chapter, hope its not too annoying. Enjoy💞
I sit at the desk in my bedroom, writing out reasons I think Lesane is involved with the bank robberies.
A few weeks ago I wouldn't have dared thinking he was apart of something so bad, but the longer I hang around him and BC, the more reasons I have to be suspicious.
I glance over at the wall clock.
Five past eight. After picking up my check earlier today I had nothing more to do so its been a slow day. I get up from my desk and head to the kitchen to pour my third glass of wine.
Then there's a knock on my apartment door.
"Who is it?" I raise my voice, walking closer to the door.
"Tupac."
I roll my eyes, "Go away."
"I wanna talk Adrienne, can we talk?" He asks, a sincerity in his voice I haven't heard before.
I walk towards the door slowly, just as I open it he had turned his back to walk away. He turns around and our eyes meet, he looks frustrated, like somethings wrong.
"Hey." I say.
Lesane gives a small smile. "Hey."
We stare at each other for a while, him twisting the rings on his fingers nervously.
"Can I come in?" He asks, I nod, stepping aside.
All of the anger I had towards him this morning disappeared when I saw his sad face.
"Are you.. okay?" I ask, as we sit down on my couch.
It takes him a while to say anything, he sighs before shifting in his seat and clearing his throat.
"I wanna apologize, for everything. I didn't mean to make you feel like I was tryna run game on you or nothing like that.. How you left this morning didn't sit right with me.." he says, avoiding eye contact.
"Oh." I say, not sure of what he wants to hear.
"I don't know how to really do this right, but I want to get to know you better. Because you make me feel... different, happy."
My eyes widen, but I turn away from him so he wont notice. What is he asking me?
"I guess what im tryna ask is if I can take you out sometime? Somewhere nice." He says.
I nibble on my bottom lip nervously, turning towards him, he's already looking at me. But I have so many questions, not just about the robberies, but about Kiada and even the fact that I dont know anything about him.
Why should I trust him?
"You and Kiada?" I ask, he immediately sucks his teeth and massages his temples.
"I'll be honest. We had dealings a few weeks ago.. but that was the only time since we been broke up." He says. A part of me wants to punch him in his face, but the other part knows I have no reason to.

I just look at him, studying his features. The light from the lamp behind me reflects off his nose ring, making it glisten. His eyelashes are beautiful, but not as beautiful at the eyes behind them.
"I want you to trust me." He says, placing a hand on my knee. A warm and tingly sensation swirls there.
"You said you've talked to detective Sanders, Before she went missing?" I ask, his gaze on me intensesifies. "What did she need to talk to you about?"
Tupac leans forward in his seat, resting his elbows on his knees.
"She wanted to know if I was involved in the bank robberies." He says, looking at the floor.
"Are you?"
Theres a pause between us that makes the blood in my veins freeze. If he says yes, I'm sitting next to a killer, someone who takes things from people and doesn't care how it affects those people, someone who may have killed... Ricky.
He looks at me, that same sincerity in his eyes.
"No Dri, I'm not." He says, I let out a breath I didn't even know I was holding.
"Okay then."
"Okay... what?" He asks, I bring my feet up on the couch, sitting Indian style. "Let's get to know each other."
I had to.
I had to lie.
After my setback today I realized that with this life im living, there will never be a perfect time for me to start getting closer to Adrienne.
I can't plan this shit out how I thought I could.
I know doing this with her could hurt her once she finds out who I really am, but there's this selfish part of me that wants this time with her, even if it doesn't last long.
I watch her twirl the end of one of her locs with her pointer finger, she has her eyes fixed on the TV.
"Do you have any siblings?" She asks, without looking at me.
"One, my younger sister Sekyiwa."
"I'm the youngest, I have an older brother. I don't see him much though." She says, then she gets up from the couch and disappears into the kitchen.
"You want some wine?" She asks, "Nah I'm good."
When she comes back she sits a little closer to me, I bite my bottom lip nervously.
"You seem really different tonight, I've never seen you so calm and relaxed." She says, a slight smirk on her face.
"Its cause i'm with you."
She sips her wine to hide a smile that had started to form. After a little while of comfortable silence, I find myself playing in her hair.
"My mama had locs. I always thought they was pretty, and it's amazing that our hair can do so much shit." I say, Adrienne reaches to put her glass down making me let go of her hair.
Adrienne
A part of me feels like he's lying to me, but when I looked into his eyes I saw something different.

He has to be telling the truth right?
I scoot a little closer, resting my head on his shoulder. He smells like oak trees on a rainy day. Even though he pisses me off most of the time, right now being with him is so peaceful.
His body tenses.
"You're a writer." I say, hoping to get him to talk about his black notebook.
"Somethin like that." He says.
"What kind of stuff do you write?"
"I.. I might show you one day." He says, before glancing down at his wrist watch. Lesane starts to get up from the couch.
"Ima go."
I furrow my eyebrows, getting up too. "Why?"
"Its late. You should get some sleep ma." He says, straightening up his jacket , and then stuffing one hand in the pocket of his jeans. I shift on my feet, looking up at him.
"You sure you don't wanna stay a little longer?" I ask, a small smile forms on his face but his eyes don't change. There has to be something on this mans mind.
"I got somethin to do tonight."
I try not to let my disappointment show. "Oh okay."
"How long you gonna be up though? I can come back in a few hours if thats igh." He says, licking his lips.
"Yea, thats okay." I say, making him head towards the door, his timberland boots thudding againt the hard wood floor.
"Wait." I say, going into the kitchen and getting my purse off the counter, I ramble through it until I find my spare key. I place it in his palm.
"Just in case I fall asleep." I say.

Tupac
After my run in with Andre I felt like shit.
Maybe I ain't have to kill him. Maybe I shouldn't have.
He was one of my homeboys I been rocking wit the longest, but he knew what he was doing when he tried to take my shit.
I had the money moved to my place, and now i'm sitting in my bedroom counting it.
"What the fuck you looking at?" I glare at my sister as she watches me count it.
"Somebody's in a pissy mood." She says, folding her arms and leaning against the door frame, my dog laying at her feet.
"Well I had a pissy day. And aint you supposed to be at home with mama?" I ask, Sekyiwa sucks her teeth. "She knows where I am. Its fine. Plus I needed to raid your fridge before I go, mama didn't cook tonight and I'm starving."
"You can stay if you want to. I'm leaving again in about a hour." I say.
"Okay." She says, before walking down the hall, Renny following close behind her.
Shit. Now I den lost count.
I look down at the key Adrienne gave me before unlocking her apartment door.
The lights are off in her living room and kitchen now but I can hear the shower running.
I walk down the hall and go into her bedroom, taking off my jacket and shoes. Then I pull my gun from the waistband of my pants and sit it on her nightstand. Her room has changed a little since the last time I was here.
She has a small desk in the corner now and a few other little things.
There's a candle on one of her dressers, it smells like vanilla.
I lay down on her bed, feeling the roughness of my day set in.
The shower turns off and shortly after Adrienne comes in her room, a towel wrapped around her body, but water still remains on her shoulders and drips down her legs.
"I thought I heard you come in." She says, while taking her hair out of the bun it was in and pulling it into a ponytail.
She stares at me for a while before clearing her throat.
"Are you gonna close your eyes?" She asks.
"Oh my bad." I say, before covering my eyes with my hands.
A few minutes go by and I uncover my eyes, but she still isn't dressed. I bite my lip, watching her put lotion on her body.
Fuck..
I watch as she rubs lotion over her breasts and down her stomach. I fight the urge to get up and bend her over the dresser shes standing in front of.
She looks up at me and I cover my eyes again.
A few more minutes pass by before I feel her get on the bed, making me bring my hands down. Adrienne has on a oversized t-shirt.
"Hey." I say.
"Hey." She's smiles, before glancing down at my pants. Of course my print is showing.
"My bad." I say, sitting up, but she shakes her head.
"You should take these off." She says, pointing at my pants, "And this." She tugs on my shirt.
I get up from the bed and take off my pants, leaving me in basketball shorts. I pull my shirt over my head. Adrienne just stares at me, then I see what she's looking at, lil Pac is standing straight up.
I reach into my shorts and fix him before laying back down.
She sits against the headboard, one of her hands is underneath the t-shirt, between her thighs. Shes looking away from me but I already know what she's doing. My eyes widen.
I sit up, making her move her hand and look over at me, biting her bottom lip.
I take the hand she was using and suck her middle and index finger slowly, tasting her juices.
She stares at me. "I- I wasn't-"
"Shhh." I say, before positioning myself at the foot of the bed, my head in between her legs. I pull her towards me a little more and push her knees apart softly. Fuck, she's already so wet. I lock my eyes with hers as I take my rings off.
I push two fingers inside of her, making her moan softly.
"Mmm Lesane."

The Rules of Dungeoneering
The First Rule of Dungeoneering: This will kill you Sylvester Bayes, the 4th son of a small baron, has suddenly had his head filled with the memories and work of someone who had dedicated their life to memorizing every dungeon they could find and designing a new RPG system. Not about to waste these gifts, Sylvester quickly sets out to get rich quick and discover the reasons behind his sudden knowledge. (Please note, this is dressed up actual play from my testing of a tabletop RPG. It is actually how the game has gone and there is a very real chance that anyone, including Sylvester, could die in any encounter. To help make my job easier I am using dungeons written by other people, which is why I have listed this as a fanfiction. I put links to all of them in the chapters where they are relevant.)

In Pursuit of Bark's Finest
On the frontiers of transhumanity’s expansion into the galaxy thousands of light years from the light of Sol, things can get rather chaotic. There are countless millions of nascent interstellar nations securing their interests, pirate ships prospering off plunder and deniable mercenary work, dissidents setting up their own civilizations, and other groups all trying to push an agenda. When these groups crash into each other, the results can become extremely messy and convoluted. Recently, a frontier nation calling itself the Red Star Union has found itself at the focal point of one such complication. A freighter under their protection has been sabotaged, hijacked in interstellar space, and robbed of its cargo. This would be bad enough even if all it were carrying was luxury goods, but the freighter Nebula Plow was carrying more than just normal trade goods. Indeed, her cargo of Non-Orientable Wormholes for use in starship power plants was both very expensive and very, very dangerous. Now the Red Star Union has to worry about a pirate crew running around with several extra devices capable of converting matter into antimatter with negligible energy cost. With those, the pirates could be capable of inflicting untold damage if allowed to leverage their ill-gotten gains into a stronger position, a possibility the Union finds completely intolerable. Unfortunately, all that the Red Star Union has to go on for evidence is two names; that of the captain, and that of the ship. The Captain is going by the possible pseudonym of Fuller, while the ship is named Bark’s Finest. And thus the orders came down to the Union’s Bureau of Starforce Intelligence: find more information on these pirates, conclusively identify them, and figure out where exactly they’ve gone to ground so that the fleet can crush them before they get established. Of the many agents that the bureau assigned to this mission, one would happen to play an important role: Field Agent Madeline Zargosty. This is her story. This story is entirely pre-written, and will have one chapter released per week. If you want to read it all ahead of schedule and get access to some premium-exclusive bonus content, the entire book is available for purchase; links to the appropriate storefront pages will be posted at the end of each chapter. This story is also being posted to Scribblehub.
