Kara came running over to Katie, tugging on her sweater, "Katie, we need to go now."

"What?" Katie was being pulled away from her seat and onto the roof of the building, "Kara-"

Once Kara knew no one could hear, she turned to Katie, "Senator Crane, she's the White Martian-well-she was taken by the white Martian and the white martian took her form-"

"What!" Katie screams, "We need to go to the DEO now!"

"Where is Leah?"

"She's with Winn... you know..."

"Ew." Kara flew up in the air, leaving her clothes behind in an area of the roof, "We can take the White Martian on our own, come on."

Katie pulled her bracelet off, lighting her clothes on fire, flying after Kara, "I hope everyone is okay."

"They will be."

Katie flew in after Kara, looking at everyone who has fallen. She landed in front of Alex and Hank while Kara shot the White Martian with her heat vision. Katie turned to them, "You guys okay?"

"Yeah, we're fine."

Katie turned when she heard after being thrown in the air. She balled fire in her hands, throwing it at the White Martian, but it jumped out of the way and escaped. Kara landed in front of Katie, "You stay here with Alex and Hank, they need you."

Katie kneels down next to Alex, helping her up, "I'm sure she'll be fine."

Alex huffs out, her eyes moving to J'onn, but then they heard Kara in their coms, "Alex, it's fled. Again."

Alex sighs, holding down on her comm, "I'll work on a plan with Hank and Katie. Keep your eyes open." Katie followed behind Hank and Alex, "Hank. J'onn."

"I should have known..."

Katie pushes her hair from her face, "This isn't your fault."

"If I hadn't pushed you to use your powers, none of this would have happened." Alex releases a loud groan, running her hand down her face.

"But it did. And now members of my team are dead because of me. This is my war, not Earth's."

"Not anymore." Katie spoke up, putting a hand on her hip, "You're not alone in this. I am so sorry for what happened to your planet. I can't imagine what that feels like. But together, we're gonna protect this one."

Hank actually had tears in his eyes as he looked up at Alex and Katie, "It wasn't just my planet... We fought back. We'd known war. But not like this. White Martians had been toiling underground, building weapons of death. Fire traps. Their technology overwhelmed us. There was no honor in how they fought. They herded us into camps. I swore no matter what, I would protect my family. We would survive. But when we got through the gates, they took the women and children. Men were forced into labor. The others went to the furnace. My wife and daughters burned. I escaped. I survived. To my great shame. I will hear my family's screams until the day I die." Katie covered her mouth, looking down.

Alex went over to Hank, she had tears in her eyes as well, "Look at me." She sighs heavily, "J'onn, look at me." Hank was shuddering, trying to be strong and hold back tears, "There's no shame in surviving. If your family would have lived, you wouldn't want them to be ashamed."

"But they didn't. And now I've let another one of their butchers kill again." Hank breathed in deeply, "I have to stop it."

Winn laid down on his side, caressing Leah's hair as she slept next to him. She smiled, rolling over, waking up, "Sorry, did I wake you?"

"No." Leah yawns, curling up next to him, "I was just thinking."

"Of what?"

Leah wrapped her arms around his torso, "Our relationship."

"Hmm? What about it?"

"How we just kind of got together immediately, it's really cute though." Leah pulled herself up, sitting on Winn's lap, straddling him, "I just realized how much I really love you."

Winn shimmied himself so he was sitting up, wrapping his arms around her waist, "I love you too, Leah or Ka-el."

"I grew up as Leah." She put her hands on his cheeks, "I haven't been called Ka in years and prefer Leah."

Winn smiles happily, moving a little forward to rub his nose against her nose, "I love you to Krypton and back, Leah Elizabeth Grant."

"You know my middle name?" Leah giggled, giving him a quick kiss on the lips, "I'll never love anyone ever as much as I love you, Winslow Philip Schott Junior." (Don't know his actual middle name)

"Ugh." Winn laughed, pulling away from her and falling back on his pillow, "I wish you didn't know my middle name."

"Why?" Leah mused, "I think it sounds handsome."

Winn cringed covering his face, becoming completely embarrassed, "It is not."

"Awe." Leah took his hands away from his face, "You're getting all flustered."

"This is not fair. You've got super strength."

"I mean, I can get you a Kryptonite light from the DEO." Leah was completely joking with him, she rolled off of him, laying next to him closely, "I am joking by the way."

"I figured you were." Winn sighs in content, "This is what I want for Katie."

"Hmm?"

"A relationship like this, where she has a man that completely loves her the way I love you." Winn pulls Leah as close to him as possible, "She deserves something like this."

"I know she does." Leah smiles, "And she will one day, the right man just hasn't shown up yet."

"I hope sooner than later."

"Especially how she's been lately." Leah sighs, listening to his heartbeat, "She's starting to notice everyone around her in relationships while she's not in one."

"As long as Kara stays single, I think Katie would be able to cope." Winn mumbled, "Out of all of her friends, Kara is the only one not actually in a relationship. If she got someone, that might push Katie a little over the edge."

Leah sat up, turning to look at Winn, "And what's sad is that she's acting like she's not hurting, but we can tell."

Katie was in her suit, her eyes on the finger, "Can you track it using its tissue?"

Hank's eyes do not move away from the finger, "If it's in its own skin, yes."

"Okay." Alex nods her head, looking between Hank and Katie, "So what do we do now?"

"We don't do anything."

Alex squinted her eyes at him, "No. No, no, no. That's not happening. We're gonna bring this in together."

"We are not bringing it in."

Katie paused, her eyes flickering to him, "What do you mean?"

"You know exactly what I mean. I'm going to find its lair. And when I do, I will drop this human coat I wear. I won't freeze. I will break its body in half and bury it in the dry sand."

"You are not a murderer," Alex calls out, following him. Katie runs a hand down her face before going after them.

"You don't know me. I am 317 years old. I can wear any face I choose. I speak languages your mouth can't even form. You know nothing about me."

Katie crossed her arms over her chest, "What about the real Senator Crane?"

"She's dead."

"You don't know that." Katie responds quickly, "You said it yourself, "We don't choose who we protect." So if she's alive, we have to find her."

Alex stops Hank before he can walk past them, "I know you believe in honor. There is no honor in what you're about to do."

"It no longer matters."

🎆~🎆~🎆

Katie walked closely behind Alex, she was actually on her first field mission as a DEO agent and it kind of frightened her but at the same time, she felt energized. "Floors one through six are clear."

Alex sighs inwardly, "She's gotta be in here somewhere." Her hand went up to her com, "Hank, you all right?"

"I'm in a sewer, Danvers, everything is just peachy."

"Let me know if you find something."

"No, if." Alex and Katie glance at each other after his response.

"Help. Help me. Someone."

Katie's hands ignited in flames, "Is that, Senator Crane?"

Alex runs behind all the men as they searched for where the voice came from. "Help. Help me. I'm in here."

Katie kept a wary gaze on the Senator her hands still ignited, "Senator Crane?"

"Thank you. Thank God."

Alex sighs, holding down the com, "Hank, I have the Senator."

"That's impossible. She's with me."

Katie took a step back from the Senator, "Get back."

The White Martian threw the man that was helping it up, then scratched the other agent when it tried to attack her. Alex fired a few rounds, earning a loud growl. Katie threw fire her way but was slammed back into the fence wall, her body flying through the wall.

Katie groaned, waking up from the floor, she looked around, "Alex?" She got up, holding her arm, which was most definitely broken, "Ugh." She limped over to the bodies on the ground, but none were Alex, she moved her arm up to her com, "Hank, it's got Alex."

"Get to the DEO." Katie struggled to fly her way to the DEO, falling as she landed inside.

Leah ran over to her, "Oh jeez, are you okay?"

"Bitch got me good." Katie groans out, accepting her help.

Hank looked Katie up and down, "Medical Bay, have them use the machine they used on Supergirl and Captain Marvel."

"Yes, sir." Katie held her arm as she limped to the medical bay.

Kara and Leah followed behind Hank, "You want me, not her. You may not have a soul, but we share a telepathic bond. I've been loath to use it, but you left me no choice." Kara and Leah looked at each other, "I want this to end. Prove to me my agent is alive, and I'll come."

"Is she there?"

"I can hear her. She's alive." Hank says to Kara, "This ends tonight."

"We'll find Alex," Leah says to Kara, noticing the worry in her face.

Hank begins to walk, "She's in the desert. You get Alex and get out."

"I'm not leaving you alone with that thing."

"You have to. I'm done."

"Done?" Leah squinted her eyes at him, "Done with what? It has Alex. We've got to stop it."

"This started because it wanted me dead. My race gone. If I'm all that's left, let it have me."

Kara runs in front of him, blocking the door, "No, this murderer does not get to win. And you don't get to give up."

"It will save Alex."

"We don't choose. We fight."

"Kara, I'm tired of being the last. Tired of having lived. You two, of all people, know how heavy it is to survive."

Kara allowed Leah to grab her hand, "I do. I ask myself every day why my mother didn't crawl into that pod with me. Now I know she felt guilty. She felt responsible for what happened on Krypton. Dying must have seemed honorable. But dying is a lot easier than getting back up when the world's ended. You have to get up. You have to go on."

"My road is done. I'll help Alex and then join my people. Wherever they are."

🎆~🎆~🎆~🎆~🎆

Leah and Kara flew down, slamming into the White Martian before it could cut open Hank's throat. Her body rolls on the floor, she gets up, looking at Kara. Kara turned her head to her, "Check on Alex, J'onn and I got this."

Leah gave her a nod, running to where Alex was, "You good?" She knelt down and helped her off the ground.

Alex gave her a forced nod, "I'm fine, go help them."

Leah flew into the air, turning so she kicked the White Martian in it's gut. It turned, missing Leah and kicking Kara down to the floor. Leah swung her fist back, punching the Martian in the face. J'onn flew directly into the White Martian, causing them both to plummet down to earth. Leah descended down, walking over to him, "It's over, J'onn. It's alright." She placed a hand on his shoulder, he formed back into Hank, putting Kryptonite cuffs on Leah, "What are you doing?"

Kara groaned from her spot by Alex, "J'onn don't."

"I'm sorry. But I can't let you stop me."

"J'onn. J'onn, J'onn, listen to me. I lost everything." Leah's voice breaks as she calls out to him, "Everyone. It makes a hole in your heart. But you can't fall into it. You have to fill it. You have to fight." She forces herself to stand, despite the pain the kryptonite was forcing upon her, "Do not throw away who you are. If you do, that thing wins. The Last Son of Mars dies, even if you're still standing."
