《One Last Fight》Love Truly Conquers All

A/N - We are getting so close to the end. I am officially writing ten more chapters, and that will be the end. Honestly, I am not sure what I am going to do when I am no longer writing Bo and Kinnick's story. During the first book, I wrote things I was afraid to say out loud. I processed my own trauma while figuring out Bo's. During this book, I knew I wanted to write a happy ending because even on the days I am not feeling my best, I know that I deserve one. It means the world to me that all of you continue to read, vote, and comment. You are the best and from the bottom of my heart, thank you for all that you do.

When the holidays passed, Kinnick and Chase were in the gym. John was able to convince me of something I didn't need to be talked into. If Chase wanted to be a boxer, I wasn't going to keep him from doing it. As a mother, I will never be the one to discourage my child. I will always be the voice in their ear, encouraging them to do what makes them happy.

Chase loved showing me everything he learned. Over the past few days, I visited the gym to bring them something to eat. Not only did I want to make sure their bellies were full, but I wanted to make sure they were okay.

Kinnick's way of training never bothered me. I never worried for one moment that his methods were overwhelming. The idea of him being too aggressive didn't cross my mind because I knew he would never be any of those things. He was patient and caring.

When I thought about the man I met in the gym all of those years ago, I thought about how much he has grown. Back then I looked at Kinnick, and I thought he carried himself so well. Now I look at him and see him as a completely different person. He no longer lashes out at the small things, but he still had no problem speaking his mind. He was a loaded gun but knew what situations were meant for shooting bullets.

I thought the man I met a few years ago was attractive, but I see the dad he has become, and nothing can beat that. Seeing the way he was around our children made me wonder why he questioned himself. Kinnick was the parent he promised himself he was going to be. He was present, available, and always ready to listen to whatever Chase had to say.

Every time I opened my laptop, I let the love inspiring me to write the words for me. While they were working in the ring, I was at home watching Collins and writing my first story. In my life, I never struggled to write. At first, I worried that the moment a blank document sat in front of me, I wouldn't know how to transform it.

My fingers have been carrying at such ungodly speeds. I surprised myself. Kinnick told me to write a story about us, and I did. Why would I deprive the world of a love like ours? No one had what we did. They didn't struggle the way we did and persevere in the way we had.

Love truly conquers all. My husband is a boxer and I a prosecutor, all we know how to do is win because before, all we felt was loss. I wish I could go back to the girl who sat in the bathroom, ready to take her life that everything was going to be okay. I would tell her that she truly made it. I would look her in the eyes and tell her that life gets better, that I have seen it and she doesn't need to worry anymore.

My birthday is tomorrow and when I think about the previous ones, I remember spending most of them crying. After my mom passed, I had no one to spend them with. Chrissy was the only person I had. Now, I don't talk to her or see her on the streets. It never upsets me but saddens me to think someone could betray someone to the extent she did me.

Kinnick truly saved me; from myself, my dad, Chrissy, Luke, and Warren. Despite my attempts at pushing him away, he stayed. I blamed him for the way I couldn't open myself. He stuck around during my fits of anger and inability to get a grip on my anxiety.

"Momma! We are home."

Butterflies took flight in my stomach as I heard my boys laughing. I looked at Collins, sleeping in her rocker with happiness. I slowly lifted her before I walked into the living room to see the men I love most in the world standing in front of me.

"Don't you two look sweaty," I stared back and forth between them.

Chase shrugged. "Hard work and dedication."

"More like stinky and sweaty."

Kinnick came toward me, pressing a kiss to the top of Collins's head before kissing me. "How are you feeling?"

"Absolutely perfect."

He hummed. "Well, I think we need to take showers."

"Damn right," I smack his butt as he turns away "Momma just cleaned. I don't want you stinking up the house."

Chase raced up the stairs, but Kinnick stayed behind. "What do you want to do for your birthday tomorrow?"

"Nothing special," I shrugged.

He rolled his eyes. "It is going to be special, regardless."

"Of course," I agreed. "Because all of you will be there."

"I can have John watch them so I can take you out."

"No," my head moved back and forth. "My kids are the best thing that has ever happened to me, including you. I want them right here, where they belong."

He grinned. "Do you want to meet me in the shower?"

"Sir, we have a baby."

"She can lay in her rocker," he shrugged. "Just bring it into the bathroom with us."

"No," I chuckled. "I am not letting my daughter watch us shower together."

"She is sleeping."

"She won't be if we take a shower together."

"Why not?" He wiggled his eyebrows.

"Because I can never keep quiet," I mumbled.

"I am just good at pleasing my wife," his shoulders tilt upward. "But if you won't take a shower with me. Let me give you a late night at birthday present."

"Oh, yeah?"

"My dick in a box," he winks.

I shake my head, a smile on my lips. "Go take a shower."

He bit his lip as he turned away from me. I watched as he swayed his butt back and forth. His hand motioned to his body before he looked at me over his shoulder and smacked his backside.

"Just know, you will be missing all of this."

"I guess I am not missing out on much."

He gasped. "You are mean, Mrs. Carson."

"Punish me for it then."

His teeth sunk back into his lip before they released their hold. "Just remember, you asked."

Not long after he went upstairs, I tried focusing on cooking dinner. Collins laid in her rocker, sleeping as I boiled spaghetti noodles. Soft music from Leon Bridges played through the kitchen as I stirred the meat sauce in another pan. My hips swayed back and forth to the beat as I sang into my spatula. Arms wrapped around my waist as I stood at the stove.

"Hello, beautiful."

His voice rasped into my ear, sending goosebumps to rise on every inch of my skin. I felt his breath fanning across my neck as he nuzzled his face into the sensitive skin. The warmth parading over my body made me curl my toes. He pressed a kiss to every inch of exposed skin. When he could no longer access my shoulder, he pulled the material to the side.

I turned around, running my fingers through his hair as our lips met. He smiled against my mouth as I tugged at his chocolate ends. His fingers slowly ran down my body as he felt every dip in my waist and touched every curve of my hips. My breath hitched as his fingers trailed the inside of my thigh.

"Please," I said breathlessly as I tugged at his hair.

His breath softly chuckled in my ear. "What do you want?"

My breathing grew uneven as he cupped me where I wanted him most. "Kinnick."

"You like when I touch you, don't you?" His deep voice made me weak. "But you love it most when I take my time, and leave you on edge, begging for more. Huh?"

I whimpered as his fingers pushed against me. "I love everything you do."

"Then tell me everything you want me to do," his fingers moved in circles.

"I don't know," I panted. "I don't know."

"Baby, it's your body," he pulled away, staring at me with his forehead pressed against mine. "Let it choose."

"What smells good?" Chase's voice floated through the kitchen. "After working out, I am freaking hungry."

Kinnick sent me a wink before pulling away to slide into a stool at the kitchen island. "Spaghetti."

"Your spaghetti is the best!"

I ran my fingers through my hair as I tried to slow my breathing. "Thank you."

"Are you feeling okay?" Chase questioned me as he slid across from Kinnick.

My husband turned around. "Yeah, Bo. Are you feeling okay?"

His tattooed body, shirtless and dripping with pellets of water had my legs on the brink of giving out. I nodded at them, putting on the best smile I could as I stared at the blue-eyed man who had a smirk on his face. I clenched my jaw as Kinnick turned around, giving me a full view of every muscle in his back.

If there is one thing I have noticed, it was the tone that his body has gained from the intense training. Whatever he made Chase do, he did alongside him, and it was showing. I turned around to the pots, hoping to stir them until the ache in between my legs went away.

I carried the noodles toward the sink, draining them into a strainer. As I announced dinner was done, Kinnick stood from his seat. Chase joined him, grabbing a plate from his dad's hold. I dismissed myself to use the bathroom.

"Will you watch Collins for a few? I really need to use the bathroom."

The corners of his lips tugged. "Of course."

When I made it to the bathroom upstairs, I ran my fingers through my hair. Kinnick was playing a dangerous game. He wanted to be harsh like the winter weather, but I was dressed for the cold. After a few minutes of pep-talking myself, I knew I could do this. The moment I opened the door I saw Kinnick.

"I thought you were going to sit in there and talk to yourself all night," he stared down at me. "If you don't know how to open a door, that is all you had to say."

My hands cupped his jaw, bringing his lips down to mine. Our mouths moved with urgency. His hands dropped to my thighs, cupping them to lift me on top of the bathroom counter. He told Chase something was wrong and he was going to check on me. The only thing wrong was that we were fully clothed.

"You want to know what I want?" I said as he pulled off my shirt.

"Please."

"You," I grabbed his face. "I will always want you."

He leaned forward on his hands. "I love you."

"And I will always love you."
