"your invited. my 17th birthday." niall smiled, handing me an invite.
oh, another party at the horan residence.
those were always good.
"cool. thanks." i smiled at niall.
"warning.. harry is coming.. probably with louis.. the feelings are mutual." niall winked, then walked off handing out more invites.
i sighed.
i can't believe i let harry use me, and the worst part is, i still love him.
-3 days later - niall's party
"happy birthday lad!" i hugged niall and handed him his gift.
"thanks z!! harry and lou aren't here yet. who wants to go play a game of truth or dare?!" niall shout the last sentence.
people around us cheered.
"alright then, c'mon." niall trailed down to the basement.
i stayed upstairs for a while. i waited at his bar.
the bartender was shaking drinks.
i checked my phone.
i looked through all of harry and i's old text conversations.
to harry: hiii babe :)
from harry: aw don't call me that *blushes*
to harry: haz i want to see you today. ;)
from harry: babe.
to harry: yeah?
from harry: i just love you too much.
to harry: i love you too harry <3
-
from harry: z?
to harry: yeah love?
from harry: i miss you z. :'(
to harry: it's ok babe i'm going to come see you soon.
from harry: can we facetime? i want to hear your voice.
to harry: sure baby.
i closed my eyes.
suddenly, niall's house door swung open to reveal louis and harry.
and just somehow, louis looked nice today. (a/n; nice as in kind.)
"louis.." harry grumbled in their kiss.
i nearly choked. and i think i must' have done it way too loud.
harry and i made eye contact.
"okay love. i'm going downstairs. come meet us okay?" louis smiled walking downstairs.

"sure." harry nodded, and walked towards me after louis had left.
"did you bring apple juice?" harry blushed.
i was speechless for a second.
was he actually talking to me?
"you know it harry." i smiled so wide, a tear fell out of my eye.
"don't cry zayn. your going to make me cry." harry said sitting down beside me.
the bartender winked at me, and walked to the back.
"what.. aren't you?.." i just didn't know what to say.
"i don't know anymore." harry sighed.
"c'mere haz." i pulled harry into a hug, and just like he always used to, he nuzzled his head into my shoulder.
was i dreaming?
that was the one question that swarmed through my mind.
the two of us parted.
we starred at eachother for a little bit.
"i miss you harry." i said.
harry blushed. "i miss you too zayn."
suddenly niall's house door swung open.
"louis. i don't always need to be with you. i have other friends." i heard harry say from outside.
that's when i opened my eyes.
"harry. but i want you with me." louis sighed, letting harry step into the house, then he stepped in himself.
"i know lou, but i have other people i need to catch up with." harry spoke, watching louis put a hand on his cheek.
i mentally gagged.
i'm not saying louis was rude, he took very good care of harry. he was nice to everyone.
and i really understood how he wanted me to stay away from harry.
if i were in louis' postion, i'd protect harry just like louis is.
"fine haz. i'll meet you downstairs." louis winked at harry, and walked into the basement.
harry sighed, gently hitting his head against the door.

"it sounds like he needs you." the bartender smiled at me, then pointed to harry.
"yeah." i nodded, walking towards harry.
"hey, hey, hey. don't hurt yourself." i said to harry, my tone low.
"it's hard to have a louis tomlinson." harry exclaimed, looking at me.
his green eyes sparkled. wow, i missed him.
i missed him way too much.
i wanted to kiss him so bad.
"i miss you harry." i blurted.
jesus, i can't control myself around him.
"i.." harry paused. "gosh, i miss you more zayn."
my heart pounded against my chest.
"i know you do babe." i smirked.
harry looked down, blushing. "you can see right through me? huh?" harry looked back up.
"i can harry." i placed my hand on his cheek.
"i don't even know how i can handle being without you zayn. i.." harry buried his face in his hands. i removed my hand from his cheek.
"now your going to make me cry babe." i knew harry loved when i called him babe.
"stop calling me that." he giggled.
oh, he giggled.
"babe, babe, babe." i teased.
"babe." harry repeated.
"can i.." i cupped the sides of his face.
"please zayn." so we kissed.

The Queen's Guard
Friedrich Schreiner is a proud gefreiter of the Queen's Guard, 2nd Company: the finest fighting infantry on the continent (barring the Temple Guard; but please don't bring that up). Service is honourable but, with the Empire on a peacetime footing, terribly boring. Affairs take a dramatic turn for the worse when a mysterious invader uses a forgotten and taboo magical means to breach the capital, plunging the nation into chaos and endangering the royal family. With events spiraling out of control, Friedrich is entrusted with a critical mission. Will hot lead, cold steel, and his determination be enough to see him through? The Queen's Guard is what I'm calling a black powder fantasy story: it's set in a loose equivalent of the early 18th century (plus or minus a few pieces I decided I wanted or didn't want). Magic exists, but not in a spell-slinging sort of way: it's Earth-shaking undertakings or minor enchantments forged in by master craftsmen, the grand working of a secretive cabal or a slight nudge to the course of a blow. I, the eternal optimist, have a full trilogy in mind. The first book is The Prince's Arquebusier, hence the cover and the title disagreeing! This is my shot at 2021's NaNoWriMo and RR Writathon! I've hitherto been terrible at writing long-form fiction, so this is an effort to break out of that by having some accountability in being supposed to post chapters regularly. Here's hoping it works! I have an outline, but not too much detail. I'll do my best to avoid continuity errors, doing anything glaringly stupid, or otherwise fluffing my lines, but I can't make any promises on that. Please do let me know any feedback! Always happy to improve. [participant in the Nov 2021 Royal Road Writathon challenge]

Essentia Animus
Second Book of the Soul - Celesi Veil Trilogy When the living essence of three girls are put at risk, giving room for a second essence within themselves, even their hyper developed fantasy world might not be enough to contain their new found ambitions. Another story of another world, these three girls must adapt to their new essence, all while each is left to question if they are truly still even alive. While this story is a sequel of the previous story in the trillogy, it is also fully capable of standing alone in its own light, taking place in a distant corner of a Celese returning readers will be otherwise incapable of recognizing. However, the events of the story are a spoiler for the previous book, in case that matters to anyone. This story takes place over two centuries after the events of Vitae Memorandum, when Celese had developed into an advanced world, improved to a point that it is much like modern-day Earth while still using the gift instead of technology. The Aethyx languages are still present in this book, and even English still exists in the world after the events of the previous book, but are much less of a focus after the same closing events of the previous book. What is instead important is how the ending events of the previous book had resulted in the start of the Instrumentation Era, and exactly how the gift translates in a modern-day sense. While this book is still effectively a fantasy world of its own kind of magic, it isn’t the classical medieval scene that would be typical for such a story. The laws of science still do not exist in Celese, but that didn’t stop it from developing into something that looks similar enough. Earth itself still remains present on the other side of the veil, and its previous exposure continues to shape and advance Celese into the world it has become. This story contains scenes exibiting mania and similar dark themes, as it goes to great length to explore concepts of life and death. While the degree of such themes should not be considered to be as serious compared to matters such as actual horror, the psychological depth is still siginifcant enough to be potentially concerning for people sensitive to matters of this nature, such as any individuals with concerns questioning matters of suicide, mental harm, or a variety of emotional injuries. While none of these subjects actually occur in the story, readers who are currently troubled by such matters may find themselves considering old wounds if they are especially capable of empathy while reading, which could lead to furthered emotional or mental stress. Readers with a high capacity for empathy may find themselves troubled by concerns regarding any potential lack of mental/emotional control as well as considerations regarding the meaning of death. Readers who appreciate subtle dark themes in a story may instead find this to be an interesting twist of the same idea.

Mary Susan Oceanrunner and the Brutus Saint's Academy
Join Mary Susan Oceanrunner on her quest to do... erm... something really important for the world... probably... Ahem. Long gone are the days when every hero could do whatever they wanted - now, we are civilised. We have government. Law. And proper forms. Lots of proper forms. (Final episode 25/07/2022. Also - beta readers far into the book rate the 'gore' degree as below 2/10, so the warning is a bit much) Mary Susan Oceanrunner is a poor girl from the orphanage, who like many others before, has to fulfil her destiny. The prophecy had been told, and she is the only one who can make things right. Erm... probably. Anyway, she can't just go and kill monsters like in the middle ages. First, she must apply for the appropriate permissions, fill the forms, learn about the proper loot taxations... Hey, no one said adventuring would be easy, right? Disclaimers: No claim made by any character by the book should be treated as the author's or anyone else's opinion on any subject. Most likely, it was just the funniest thing the Author could think of at the time of writing. This book contains many references to other works. It will probably be best enjoyed by individuals familiar with at least some of the following: 1) Computer games2) Fantasy in general3) Science fiction4) Tabletop RPGs5) Conspiracy theories6) Corporation work life7) Long forgotten prophecies uttered millennia ago in almost as forgotten languages under a starless night three dusks before the great convergence8) Filling any government-mandated form9) School10) EnglishMy ultimate goal is to make as many people experience something akin to joy while reading (think ~a bit louder exhale through the nose). It doesn't mean every scene will be funny or joyful because that's not how this stuff works. I can neither confirm nor deny having any other hidden agenda outside of that.
