"Just because I commented on Louis' photo doesn't mean follow me." I stated, finding Zayn at the retirement home that evening, sat in the lobby floor lounge room eating a banana.
Zayn's cheeks turned bright red. "You saw..?" He paused. "What am I saying? Of course you saw. You got a notification." He blushed madly.
Nervous Zayn? I like it. "Yes, I got a notification." I rolled my eyes. "You liked my one selfie from 5 weeks ago."
Zayn shook his head. "Why are you telling me what I did? I know I.. Harry go do your job."
"You go do your job." I frowned.
"Let's both do our job." Zayn regained his confidence out of nowhere and got off the couch throwing his banana peel into the trash can which was located across the lounge room.
Zayn walked past me and motioned for me to come faster. "We should check on Ethel."
I nodded. "Okay."
Zayn pressed the code into the elevator which was 5460 and he let me in first.
I walked in quickly and pressed my back against the wall watching Zayn jot the number two - for the very top floor where Ethel was and the elevator door closed.
It began moving. Zayn and I were quiet. "So no one knows that you volunteer here?" I asked.
"Louis and Liam know." Zayn stated, looking away from me.
"Why doesn't anyone know?" I spoke, trying my hardest to start conversation between me and Zayn.
"Because they don't need to." Zayn looked down.
"You should tell people. They wouldn't judge you that easily."
Zayn quickly looked at me, then away. "You see how they judge me now?"
The elevator felt like it had come to a stop, but the ringing noise didn't go off.

Zayn and I starred at each other.
"It'll continue." Zayn shrugged.
We waited 5 minutes and it didn't.
I began to panic. "Should we press the red button?"
Zayn bit his lip, nodding.
I pressed the red button which was supposed to call downstairs, but it didn't work.
I re-pressed it multiple times, and broke down crying.
I sat down, pulling my knees up to my chest and resting my head on top of my knees. "This had never happened." I sniffled.
Zayn didn't say anything.

Harry was crying. This meant that I had to be the bigger person.
I breathed, pulling my phone out.
Thank god there was service.
I called the front desk.
While it was ringing I looked down at Harry who was sniffling and hugging his knees.
"Hello, this is Park Road Retirement Home how may I help you?" Beatrix answered.
"Beatrix its me, Zayn. Harry and I are locked in the elevator it stopped working." I spoke as calm as possible, still watching Harry.
"Oh my goodness!! Are you two okay?" She panicked.
"Yes, we're fine." I smiled weakly.
"I'm going to call help right now. Call me back if anything..! We'll be in touch okay?"
I nodded. "Thank you love." And we hung up.
I put my phone in my back pocket and looked down at Harry once again.
He was still sniffling.
I bit my lip, and sighed softly. "It's okay babe."
Harry looked up, his eyes red and puffy from all the crying.
"They're going to come." I sat down next to Harry.
There was a little space between us.
I stretched my legs out and sighed.
Harry looked towards the wall, probably wanting to hide his testy face. "Sorry." He mumbled.

"No need to apologize love." It felt kind of good calling Harry love and babe.
It didn't mean anything. I call everyone love and babe.
We were quiet for a moment.
I scooted over beside Harry, and gently draped my arm around his shoulder, running my thumb over his upper arm softly.
Harry's hair brushed against my cheek, and Harry blushed immediately, moving his hair to the side.
I moved my arm off of Harry's shoulder, and cupped his face gently, wiping a tear.
He looked into my eyes, then bit his lip.
I let go, and scooted towards the other side of the elevator, blushing.
Harry was blushing as well when I glanced over at him.
"I'm okay now." Harry giggled quietly.
I smiled.
"So are you going to Louis' party on Saturday?" Harry asked me, tilting his head to the side a little.
I nodded. "Yeah. He wants me there." Pausing, I smirked. "Just like El and Dani need you there."
Harry laughed. "I love them."
And after Harry spoke those words.
The way love rolled off of his pink lips. I wanted him to whisper that to me.
While kissing, we'd part and he'd mumble against me, I love you.
"You sure seem to." I nodded casually.
"What about Liam? What does it feel like to be able to talk to him all the time now that he's dating your best friend?" Harry sighed dreamily.
"Don't get any ideas. I'm not trying to take him." I shook my head. "But yeah, Liam is pretty cool. He's nice, and always talking about Louis. He's even hotter up close." I raised my eyebrows.
Harry nodded. "I can imagine."
Harry took a breath.
I tapped my finger against my knee.
"Do you have a girlfriend?" Harry asked, on the spur of the moment.
I sat there a little shocked, and more so confused.
"No, no. Sorry I shouldn't have said that. Sorry. Never mind." Harry shook his head looking away from me.
"Its fine Harry." I smiled softly. "I don't have a girlfriend. I don't want a girlfriend. I want a boyfriend."
"Oh sorry. Sorry what am I saying! Oh my god sorry. El and Dani already told me. Sorry I just wanted.. I just wanted.. I'm sorry." Harry bit his lip, getting up.
"El and Dani know?" I chuckled, standing up as well, and placing my leather jacket on the floor as it was getting a little hot.
"They know everything."
"Oh." I looked at Harry, even though he wasn't looking at me. "That's okay. It's really okay. Did you know that the majority of my family is gay? It's pretty crazy, and very, very different, but we make it work. My mum and dad divorced after she figured out she was into women. My dad is still friends with my mum, and he does visit quite often.. Wait sorry. You probably don't want to hear my life story." I blushed, embarrassed.
"No, no." Harry smiled. "Continue. Please."
