ages 6 (harry) 7 (zayn)

grade two

"this addition is getting tough," harry sighed, as him and zayn sat down outside for lunch.

"i can help you." zayn bit into his sandwich.

"okay." harry nodded and watched zayn in fascination.

harry had noticed that zayn had pretty eyes and very nice hair.

harry hadn't let it bother him. in fact, harry thought it was completely normal.

"can we work on some now?" harry asked, pulling a container of grapes out of his lunch bag.

"sure." zayn smiled. "ooh! can i have some grapes?"

"okay," harry passed zayn the container. "now can we try some math?"

zayn nodded, and pulled out a notebook and a pencil from his bag.

"okay harry." zayn felt proud of himself for being able to teach harry. "here is three plus three."

zayn scribbled out the numbers three, and a plus sign in between them.

"how can i do that?" harry huffed, pushing his hair back.

"use your fingers." zayn demonstrated. zayn held up three fingers on both sides. "count."

harry did. "one.. two.. three.. four..." when harry reached six, he smiled.

"three plus three equals six?" he grinned.

zayn nodded grinning as well. "good job hazza!!"
