Call me crazy, that being a demigod is cool and all but I refuse to let it bother my normal life. I've stayed with my step brother for as long as I could remember, and one day the dreaded news came.
flashback
"Treya, you're twelve now and I have to tell you something very important. Come home immediately" The person on the other end of the line was my brother, Gavin, and he was my legal guardian.
I had just finished soccer practice and was waiting for one of my friends to finish off when my brother called saying it's an emergency.
"Do you need me like now? Or can I just come home a little later?"
I hear him sigh on the other end but he agrees to my request.
As my friend and I were walking home I see two silhouettes creeping inside my home. Startled, I point at my doorstep and ask Wrynn, my friend, if she saw them.
"Did you see those? The ones that entered my house?" I tugged on her hot pink jersey, feeling my head go berserk for they did not look human at all.
Wrynn looks at me like an idiot that I was, "There's no one there" She stated but as she said so I heard the front door slam shut.
"But there are! Didn't you see that?! They just shut the door!" I pointed again as we got closer and closer to my home.
Wrynn pats my shoulder and sighs "I think you're becoming ill. Take a break from soccer practice Treya, it should help. Well, I'm off. See you next week!"
Wrynn slings her bag over her shoulder and I stare at her with my mouth agape as she walked towards her house, leaving me dumbfounded and confused.

What should I do?
I trudge towards my house, slapping my face multiple times wishing that everything I saw was fake and that Wrynn was right, maybe I was only a little tired from soccer practice.
I opened the door nervously to see my brother facing me and was talking to two people with their backs facing me. I sigh in relief, seeing that they were only people.
"Sorry I'm late Gavin" I apologize, and he throws me a small smile and beckons me to sit beside him.
I walk over to him and once I do I almost pass out at the sight of the two people that I thought were people. They looked like ordinary humans at the start but they both had a synthetic leg and a donkey's? leg.
I look over to my brother, my eyes wide as he beckoned me to sit down.
"I'm not dreaming, am I?" I ask him and he shakes his head no.
"This is what I have to talk to you about. Treya, meet the empousai Kimberly and Kaya. This is my sister Treya"
I gulp, "Wh-what? Empousai?"
One of them smiles at me and I'm too scared to smile back, "We are creations of The Dark Lady, in a way you are also our sister"
I nearly choke on my saliva as they said that, "What kind of prank is this Gavin? You better stop now or else—"
"Listen Treya, this is the path you're meant to take. You—"
I cut him off, feeling myself fill with panic and anxiousness "You're selling me off?! To- to these, idontknowevenknowwhattheyare!"
"Treya, calm down. We will not harm you. You are under the protection of all Hecate's creatures, and that is what we are" The more calm and cool looking female who barely smiled spoke up, sending shivers down to my spine.

I try to slow down my rapid breathing but it was of no use, I didn't understand a single thing that was currently happening to me.
"What they're trying to say is, you're a demigod Treya" Gavin spoke slowly and as calm as possible but panicking me wasn't having any of it.
"I'm a what?!? Is that part of a crazy cult or something? Will I also have legs like theirs?!? Gavin, you can't sell me off like—"
My brother stood up and engulfed me into his arms, my breathing calming down immediately.
"A demigod Treya, is a half human half god and that's what you are. A daughter of Hecate, the goddess of magic and etc. These people are your mother's creations, and they are called the empousai. They were sent by your mother to protect you at all costs, including your journey to Camp Half Blood"
I gulped, "Can I just stay for a while? For a few more years? I don't wanna go to this campwhattanot. Gavin, I'm only twelve!" I protest, pushing away from his calming hug.
"Which is why you need to get there as soon as possible" He answered
"The Dark Lady has never seen much potential for power in her demigod children until you were born. It is dangerous to stay here any longer. We fear that the mist cannot hide you for that long" The calm one stated, showing a look of pity.
"No! Tell my mother— whoever she is, that I'll be staying here as long as I want to! I don't want to do anything with that weird cult called demigods and whatever mist you're talking about!" I was angry now, I didn't want to be taken from my own home, from my brother who seemed willing enough to have me taken away.
"And, tell her that she should keep me safe as much as possible! I don't want to go there and that is final!"
They both seemed awestruck at my sudden behaviour but they bowed down, "Very well. If that is what you wish, but we will come back later on, and you will have no choice but to come to Camp Half Blood"
With a huge cloud that went 'poof' they were gone and I received a scolding from my brother who told me I was being disrespectful to those weird ladies who only wanted me safe.
flashback end
I tried to keep myself away from them as much as possible, my brother has told me everything I needed to learn as a demigod and told me I was already overdue to go to Camp Half Blood.
But I really didn't want to go. I was stubborn and I loved my highschool life even if it was quite boring, I was the current captain of the soccer team and my life couldn't have been any better.
So why is Kaya, the fierce looking Empousa sitting on the bleachers, staring at me with fire in her eyes?
