《Ask Nico di Angelo | √》Rants of a Distressed Author

Hey, guys!
Nickel, here.
I just wanted to talk to you guys about something serious that's been bothering me for a while.
Honestly, Dane brought this to my attention a few weeks ago and I'm honestly glad she did.
I had never really been able to put my finger on what was bothering me so much about writing, but now I've got it.
When I'm writing a story, I publish what I have, when I have it.
And I love all the feedback I get from you guys, its really encouraging and makes me really happy to see that you've read and enjoyed what I've provided.
When I'm writing, I can't always get the next update out quickly.
I take as much time as I need on my story parts because I want them to be the best I can make them for you guys.
Sometimes, my writing takes extra long because I know what I want to do, but I can't get it out of my system in a way that I like.
So, one of the most discouraging things I get as an author is demands for me to update.
I know its been a while since I've updated any of my books. Trust me, I know.
And I hate it.
I wish I could have an update out for you guys every week, but I can't. I just... I can't. It's not how I write and its not how I'm able to write.
So when I read the comments and they say things like 'update now!' or 'when are you going to update?' or 'what?! You have to update now!', it really discourages and upsets me.
I'm trying my hardest, I promise, but I have a life outside of Wattpad.
Sometimes, I can't write for long periods of time because of home situations.
Or I can't get the part just right so I keep restarting it.
I'm sorry for taking so long on my books, but people that demand updates make me want to stop writing.
This has been a PSA,
