Forks High School, like the town, was small. It was a relatively boring school where not much interesting happened. The Cullen family had moved to the town well over a year ago, and as soon as the student body realized the particularly stunning family had no interest in mingling outside the family, the excitement settled down aside from some occasional gossip.

Forks High School was small.

So, everyone definitely took notice when the cherry red 1968 Impala whipped into the parking lot a week after the spring semester had started. The nicest cars in the lot had always belonged to the Cullen's — who hadn't arrived yet to witness the spectacle the new arrival was making — but the red car certainly had everyone's attention for the day.

The car looked to be in mint condition, without a scratch in sight and the shiniest rims any of them had ever seen. Those nearest to it could hear All Time Low's "That Girl" blasting through the speakers, and Tyler Crowley wondered how the driver wasn't deaf from the noise. She certainly liked her music loud.

The car parked in the spot that was usually reserved for Edward Cullen's shiny Volvo, which several people took note of. The music stopped and the engine was cut.

The lot was uncharacteristically quiet as she got out. The girl looked at no one as she got her bag out of the car and locked it. She didn't hesitate as she confidently strode to the front office while the students gawked at her. Their eyes stayed glued to the double-door entrance even after they were closed and she was out of sight.

And none of them even glanced at the Cullen family as their nice cars pulled into the lot, parking next to the cherry red Impala.

Forks High School had a new student.
