《Unexpected | Baldi x Reader (Fluff/Lemon)》Chapter 11: Running Away Together

Art is by on !!
My mom didn't wake me up this morning, but I still made it on time thanks to my alarm clock. The school day went by fast, even though I felt a little down. Baldi definitely noticed because he was being extra cheery to help me out indirectly.
Lunch was just regular conversation; all of us talking about the school and other places and the teachers there.
The school day was overall very mundane, so I couldn't wait for it to end.
And when it did, I immediately rushed to Baldi's office, threw the door open and kissed him on the cheek.
"Baldi, I'm so happy to see you," I panted. "Everything is going downhill."
His smile turned to a concerned frown. Before he could ask what was wrong, I told him about the fight with my mom. "So I'm sick of it. Of even being around her."
He shook his head and stood up, giving me a warm and loving hug. "I'm sorry, (Y/N)..." he petted my hair and looked down.
"So that's why I'm going to say this." I looked up and gripped his shirt out of nervousness. "I want you to take me home. At least for tonight. Maybe even more than tonight."
The offer and idea sounded bad, but the more I imagined, the more I wanted it. Living with him and not my mom for even a few days would be absolute paradise.
"What?... Take you home?" He looked at me as if I was joking. "Your mother, you can't just run away from-"
"Please." I cut him off, grabbing his hand with both of mine.
Looking at me, his shoulders fell and he sighed. "Fine. Then you should get some things packed. Like clothes... or things you need. If you're running away I at least want you to be comfortable."

"THANK YOU, THANK YOU!" I grinned from ear to ear, practically smashing my lips against his and pulling back. "I know that it's sudden. I won't be able to run away easily, but we'll figure something out."
"I can't believe I'm going to do this," Baldi facepalmed and stood up, sliding his chair back into the desk. "Then we should go now. Before Playtime comes back."
I laughed and he smiled his adorable smile that I didn't see often enough.
~
Baldi got his papers and laptop packed, locking his office door behind him. He went to come up with an explanation to the Principal, but he was nowhere to be found. It was only better for us.
He held my hand and led me out a back door, and to his car. It was a lot nicer than I expected it to be. Dark black with a slim design and a sleek finish.
He must get paid well... My eyes widened at the sight. Why doesn't he use this money to move out of here?
I opened the passenger door and sat inside, taking my bookbag off and sitting it on my lap. I shifted in my seat, looking around. He sat down in the driver's seat and started the car, giving me a small smile.
"Alright then, we're off."
~
We arrived at his house fairly quickly. A simple yet spacious one story building with a great deal of windows and trees surrounding it. It shone like a star compared to the rest of the neighbourhood which appeared to be close to abandoned.
"Woah," I whispered. "You're rich."
He laughed and shook his head. "When you're one of the few staff working full time, it pays off." His answer was a little unsure, like there was more too it, but I wasn't going to question.

I was brought into the house and I immediately told myself I could get used to this.
"So this is where you'll be for the next..." he thought for a moment. "Undisclosed amount of time."
"I hope it's forever," I spit out, running around and looking at every small detail. There wasn't much in it, he lived alone. A sofa and TV, dining room, everything in a wooden, cabin-like style. "Your house is so cool!"
"Thanks," Baldi laughed and rubbed his arm. "It took a while to get to where it is now."
My head turned to look at him with a smirk. "Worth it."
I walked around, running my finger across the edges of tables, picture frames on the walls, doorknobs, and door frames. Eventually I reached the last room in the house. The bedroom.
Footsteps echoed behind me as I stepped in. It seemed like he had something to hide and he didn't want me seeing. But if I was going to be staying here... there'd be no secrets.
"Looks comfy," I turned and gave him a wink, walking over and flopping down on the bed. "I'm assuming I sleep on the couch though. What a pity." I dramatically put my hand on my forehead and sighed.
"I don't think so," He giggled and shook his head, picking me up bridal style from the bed and looking down at me. "Angels don't sleep on couches."
I raised an eyebrow. "So the floor? That's even worse." I joked, fake frowning.
Luckily, he could tell I was joking and played along. "Yes. You sleep on the hard wooden floor and wake up with back pains every morning." He put on a straight face until he couldn't hold it anymore and burst into laughter, holding me closer.
"No, no, no, you sleep in my bed." He finished, setting me back down. "Company is optional." He winked back at me.
Shaking my head, I held up a finger, just like the Principal does. "Mandatory."
All of this playful banter and fake arguments lifted me to a place that I couldn't fall from. He just made me so unbelievably happy, and I'd finally get to spend every day doing it. Hopefully.
"Your word is my command." He sat next to me and pulled me down by the arm, causing me to squeal.
I rolled over and faced him. I furrowed my brows and gave him a devious smile. "There's so many things we could do, it's only 4:30."
"I have an Xbox." He said plainly, going askew from the subject I was presenting.
We both burst into laughter again. I buried my face in a pillow and blindly reached my hand over to his shoulder and squeezed. "Yes, that sounds perfect." My voice was a small wheeze.
My mother didn't get me any gaming systems because she claimed it was 'bad for my mental health'. She made me stick to things like drawing and playing ukulele.
"Mortal Kombat or Minecraft?" Baldi asked, sitting up with a grin.
"Wow, those are two really polar choices. But Minecraft." I responded, sitting up too and crawling to the edge of the bed with him. He handed me a controller and turned the TV at the end of the bed on along with the system.
"Okay, so this is how you play..."
This was going to be great.
