《THE RUNNING》13

After Tiberius and I finished our amazing breakfast, he gathered whatever was left and we walked inside together, laughing at cheesy jokes he told and silly faces he made.
Doubling over at his jokes, he attempted to regain his composure and tell me another.
"Okay, okay. What did Lil' John do when a hardware salesman tried to sell him a lightbulb?" Tiberius asked, trying to hold back a laugh. Thinking about it for a second, I shrugged. "I don't know, what?"
Grinning, he looked down at me; "He turned down four watt!" Laughter broke out both of us again, my upper cheeks burning with overuse. Admiring Tiberius through squinted eyes, I saw his eyes crinkled at the corners, life flowing through his golden-green orbs. When I woke for the first time here, the only thing I saw then was cold desolation, his soul hardened over years of malice and rage. No one gave him kindness or patience, only respect and submission; yet they still judged him for being so vengeful?
How could anyone expect him to be open or sympathetic when no one would approach him feeling nothing but fear?
Setting the items back on the counter of the kitchen, Tiberius glanced around quickly before turning back to me. Eying him curiously, he very slowly walked towards me, a primal look in his eyes. Backing away, I started to get excited. What was he doing?
Suddenly, he started running towards me, a wild light in his eyes.
Squealing out of shock and excitement, I bolted the other way and out the kitchen door, his swift footfalls less then 10 feet behind me. Without shifting into my wolf, I dashed in and out of every room that had 2 doors on the first floor, weaving in and out of the desolate halls.
Spreading my scent around, knowing he would be following me by that since I lost him a few minutes ago, I sprinted up the stairs as quietly as I could. Faintly hearing his animalistic growls somewhere downstairs, I opened the guest room and shut it softly, running into my closet to hide.

Sitting in the corner inside a tall cabinet holding dresses, I fluffed up the frills and ruffles around me, hoping it would cover me as much as possible. It wasn't a matter of if he found me, but when. Slowing my breathing, I waited.
"Ellieee.." a faint sing-song voice called out. "Ellieee.."
Oh shit..
"Elliee..I know you're up here, Ellie," it said again in almost a consoling tone, their voice soft and calm..and haunting.
Trying to listen more closely, I pressed my ear up against the wall beside me and heard light, steady footsteps..coming closer and closer.
All too quickly, the doorhandle of my old room turned. Taking my ear away from the wall, I focused instead on the near soundless treading of the intruder that was..slowing down.
With my body pounding with adrenaline, I heard the cabinet door open and light pour in, making me bite my lip from excitement. Why am I so excited?
Hands shot out from between 2 dresses, gripping me firmly-but gently- around my waist. I screamed, pleasantly surprised at what just happened. Pulling me out of the cabinet, I was met with the smug face of Tiberius, his hands still holding my sides.
"You thought you could hide from me?" he smirked slyly while looking down at me, his eyebrow raised.
"Well, I had you running around the house like a lost puppy, so yea. I did," I smirked back, raising on my tippytoes as I finished.
"I just did that to make you feel better. I could've taken you whenever I wanted to, princess." Lowering his head, we were just inches apart, so close I could feel his breath hitting my nose.
"Well why not take me now, then?" I asked, my voice low and sultry. Tiberius' eyes flashed gold, then back to green. "I think I will," he muttered, fluidly lowering his lips onto mine. Raising his right hand to my cheek, he started sucking lightly on my bottom lip, motivating me to reciprocate. After the moment of shock had passed, I slowly pressed me lips back a little harder, moving my lips as he did. Sliding my hands up his neck, placing my thumb infront of his ear while my other 4 fingers were behind it, I gently scraped his scalp with my fingernails.

Groaning, he wrapped both arms around my waist and picked me up, walking out of the door and past the stairs to our room, never breaking contact.
Once we were in, he nudged the door closed behind us and glided over to the bed, lowering me down gently and slowly from the foot. He climbed over me on his hands and knees, his burning eyes never leaving my own. Once he was finally over me, I peered up at Tiberius' alluring features, trying to remember every detail, from his strong jaw to the way his eyelashes curved at the end.
He seemed to be doing the same thing, searched and observing my face for the slightest movement. Growing impatient, I whimpered quietly, his gaze snapping back to mine. Smiling happily, he dropped his lips onto mine again, kissing softly and passionately.
Running my fingers through his silky hair, I tugged slightly, wondering if he would like that. I took that as a yes when me groaned pleasurably, deepening the kiss. Feeling something warm running along my bottom lip, I opened my mouth slightly and welcomed his smooth tongue to run along my teeth, fighting my own for dominance. I let him win since this was my first time kissing a boy- or man- and I didn't want to mess it up. Growling in satisfaction, he moved down my mouth to my jawline, then neck, then collarbone, licking and kissing as he went. Tingles shot into my stomach, and I moaned when he nipped my sensitive spot. Growling again when he heard my moan, he kept working that one spot, making me bite my bottom lip in pleasure.
Pulling him back a little by his hair, I looked into his eyes, breathing heavy. Luminous gold covered his iris with green swirls within it, making it look as is if someone painted the molten mineral.
"Do it," I whispered, my voice heavy with passion. Tiberius looked at me and cocked his head, wondering if I was speaking the truth. "Please, do it. I want you to," I pleaded. "I want to be yours." I shook with anticipation, knowing he knew what I was talking about.
"A-are you sure?" he choked out, apprehension clouding his bewitching orbs. I nodded and smiled small, giving him the encouragement he needed.
"Yes, Tiberius," I whispered.
Tiberius lowered his head to the dip of my collarbone, inhaling deeply before kissing a certain spot sweetly. He then brought out his canines, biting into my neck to mark me. Crying out in pain, I bit my lip and tasted blood. He held that position for 8 seconds, the time needed to mix the males scent into your own.
Once the 8 seconds were finally up, he retracted his canines and gently licked the dripping blood away. Smiling in satisfaction, I groaned and turned to my mate. He looked at me with both worry and affection, obviously happy I had decided to let him mark me now.
"You wanna know something, Princess?" Tiberius asked, toying with the end of my braid.
"Sure," I replied tiredly, yawning at the end. He chuckled lightly, pulling me into him to get more comfortable.
"I love you," he whispered.
Grinning in my half- comatose state, I responded. "You wanna know something, Ti?"
"Sure, baby," he whispered.
"I love you too," was all I managed to say before I felt sleep pull me under.

The Fall of The Gods
Synopsis: In the year 1966, an army of Orishas led by Sango stormed Amadioha’s palace and razed it the ground, starting a decades-long war between two of Nigeria’s most powerful divine orders. Blinded by the rage of battle, the gods did not detect the rise of a third power, far greater and deadlier than anything they could have imagined. When gods, on both the Yoruba and Igbo sides, begin falling mysteriously to their death, Sango seeks the help of Odion, a Lagos teenager destined to rise from his dark past to become a hero. But can a human hero save the gods from a doomed fate? The Fall of the Gods is an action-packed YA fantasy based on the mythical bond that ties human life with the realm of the divine. It demonstrates the power of stories to change our lives. It also reminds us that Sango and Amadioha are not relics of the past and that, sometimes, what it means to be a hero in today’s world is knowing how to find inspiration in the stories of the gods. PLEASE NOTE: Weekly chapters will be released every friday along with interludes once in a while about Nigerian mythology.
