《Outcasts》Night Shift

After we went out and took some photos, we just decided to rest and listen to some music before I was called in for the late night shift. I was worried sick because one, Norton is a ghost and what if they find him, and two, Im scared someone will track down and kill me! I have a shovel and lantern, So, I let Norton know of this and he was just as scared.
"If I die, just know the memories we made were unforgettable. And I will never forget e m." Norton smiled as he kissed my cheek lightly before I left for the night. I ran as fast as I could to the cafe to get a coffee before they closed, and luckily it was only six, and they were open till nine, so I'm glad I was able to get there in time.
"Jesus christ its dark..." I whispered to myself as I got my ghost gun out and shot at a ghost. Oh god, it was another teenager, what happened to them...They look so young and innocent, they dont deserve this. I hate this job, this is the time ghosts come out the most, and I might just walk around and not really kill anyone. But I would get fired if I didnt kill fifteen ghosts..
"I'm sorry, but I must kill you all." I whispered to myself as I found a group of ghosts and shot all seven of them. One ran off but I caught up with them and shot them execution style.
"May you rest in the stars.." I said as I packed up my stuff and ran off to go smoke a cigar. I checked my watch and already it was 2 in the morning. Goddamnit this is scary...
"Oh look its the monster from high school! Why's he out so late?"
I need to run! My high school bullies found me, how do they recognize me? Oh wait, I'm extremely recognizable... God I hate this town sometimes..
"You arent going anywhere!" One of them said as they punched my back as I fell over.

"Get em!"
No please! I dont want to be beaten to a pulp like I was all of high school again...I dont want to be outside at night anymore. Sir, Im sorry! Im gonna get fired! I was getting kicked and punched just like an ordinary beat up.
"Now, stay there!" Someone yelled as they ran off.
"Gh...I need to get home.." I said until I collapsed on the floor. I woke up later in a hospital, covered in bandages and everything. But no one was there...
"Oh, seems I passed out. I should dial Norton..." I yawned as I reached for the telephone and dialed for Norton
"Where are you?"
"Hospital. I was beat up late last night."
"Holy mackerel, are you okay now?"
"I think so, no broken bones thankfully. God was by my side as well as you."
"God will be there, and so will I. We're here for you. See you later."
"Alright darling, love you." I said as I hung up the phone and when I saw the nurse bring in breakfast, I ate the food as slowly and polite as possible. I wasnt too hungry, but I ate as much as I could.
"You will be released today at noon. There are no major injuries." The nurse smiled
"Thank goodness, I knew God was there by my side.." I exclaimed. "Do you have any books I can read?"
"Yes, we have many. Want me to bring a few?" The nurse replied as she grabbed my food tray that I finished. The first meal I successfully finished in over a year. I feel, rather proud of myself..
As she grabbed a few books, I got the one that intimidated me the most, Edgar Allen Poe's poetry book. I love his work and is a very wise man of words...
Once noon passed by, I decided to 'borrow' the book as I was escorted out. This was a rather unexpected experience, and now I've got 2,000 pounds to pay off. I can pay that off. Once I got into a trolley, I rode the rain to the house I live in, though the stop was two blocks from my house. Once I walked in, Norton ran down as fast as he could and hugged me as tightly as he could.

"Andrew! I missed you so so much!" Norton wailed as he followed me inside my house as I closed and locked the door
"I missed you as well, Norton. I thought about you all that night, wondering if you were gonna make it through.." I worried as I endlessly kissed his cheek. I dont give a damn if he was just a ghost, I worried about and missed Norton.
"I'm so glad your safe..." Norton smiled as he got me a cup of coffee.
"Me too..You couldve gotten killed!" I exclaimed. "And I could have too...We both could have had our lived ended.."
"But God was there for us.." I said with a happy exclamation as I put my ghost equipment away, hoping that the head of the company found out about my injuries.
"Nah, it was just luck." Norton laughed. "I mean yea he was there, but if he wasn't it was probably good luck."
"Christmas is soon, we should get ready." I said as I got out the decor from the attic. There isnt a lot considering I spend the holidays alone, so I just put up whats there
"How many Chistmases did you haunt?"
"None, my first and last Chrstmas is with you." Norton replied, getting the tree out.
"Oh my, this is my first Christmas with someone since I was nineteen." I sighed as I got the ornaments. This wasnt a lonely Christmas anymore, now that I have Norton, but I'll be lonely again next year since he has to go back to heaven after Christmas. Jeez, everything that seems nice dies out for me. I truly have the worst luck.
"Oh wow, well you have someone to spend it with now, so no worries." Norton smiled as he hugged me gently. "You wont be alone this Christmas, my darling."
When he said that, I began to tear up. I could picture my mother putting the ornaments on the tree, music playing in the background and her humming to the tune. I held onto Norton tightly as I began to cry
"Whats wrong?" Norton asked
"Oh. Just, remembering my mother humming to this song while putting the ornaments up.." I sobbed. "Lets put the decor up, shall we?"
"Yeah, I remember that too. It was a memorable and nostalgic time..." Norton smiled. "The fresh smell of a tree..."
I continued to sob while putting up the decor because the decor gave the wonderful, minty smell of Christmas. Christmas is a wonderful and memorable holday I hold close to my heart, and Im glad I get to spend it with Norton. Thats all that matters right now, Christmas with the love of my life. I dont care if he's dead, I get to spend it with someone and thats what matters...After we got the decor up, I made some hot cocoa for us and we got out to watch the snow in the back yard.
"The snow is so gorgeous..If only you were alive I'd have a snowball fight with you..." I sighed a I laid on Norton's invisible shoulder.
"Well, I can try.." Norton said as he attempted to grab a snowball, but that failed. He can grab everything but a snowball? How odd.."I can grab everything BUT a damn snowball?"
I giggled at him as I threw a snowball while Norton tried to throw a snowball but failed
"How rude!" Norton laughed. "Lucky I love you!" He finally got the snowball and threw em at me.
"Hah! Finally got em!" Norton giggled as he impressed himself. "Baseball skills from High School came in handy.."
We continued to throw snowballs at each other until it got a bit colder and we headed back inside to warm up to the fireplace.

Exuperius [DISCONTINUED]
Terravest. The northernmost continent of the world known by many names of legend, but is most commonly reffered to as Athora, has, for eons, served as the land of exiles. Human criminals, dark elves, grayskinned orcs and dwarves that preffer mining with machinery over the traditional pickaxe alike, have come to call this half-frozen hellhole their home. It is a land of great strife, calamity and crisis, where one legendary tale ends only to begin the next, heroes fall down and villains find themselves thrown into lava. Around seventy years ago, a legendary figure appeared out of seemingly nowhere and conquered three human nations, forming a kingdom worthy enough of being called a small empire. However, at the eve of his heirs ascension, the legend breathed his last, leaving this same bloated, chaotic realm without the pillar that kept it together. Already, the carrion nobility, still spiteful for being denied their "rightful" place below the sun, rise up and gather at the court, each eager to consolidate their own power in these troubled times. Tempers flare, power is exercised without restraint and no one expects the hedonistic prince to succeed at keeping the realm together. Alas, as is often the case with such tales, not everything seems to be as it might at first appear and the vain lords of the realm may yet come to regret their carrion will. --- The Content Warnings are there for a good reason. ---
