《Paranormal Hope》Chapter 7

Bailey POV
I hear Lia's cries for help and get very worried. "What's going on in there?" Zak asks. I hear some shuffling around before we get a response. "Um... I dont exactly know what's happening. Aaron was fine and then he got scratched by something he started to shake and then he passed out." She says trying to keep her voice from shaking. Nick and Zak share a worried look. I know that they know something I don't. "How's his pulse?" Nick asks. There is a pause before we hear, "Its a lot faster than it normally should be. His breathing is pretty fast too." She says her voice shaky. "I think he is having a panic attack." Zak says. "Umm, okay. What do I do?" Lia asks. "Just try to get him awake. When you do that, keep him distracted," Nick responds. "Umm, okay. How do I get him to wake up?" She croaks.
As Nick was coaching Lia, Zak was holding a camera to his face, "Our friend Aaron is being very affected by the spirit present." I look over, "What?! No he's not, he's being 'affected' by being trapped in a freaking pitch black elevator!" I walk up to him. Zak looks at me, appalled. "Well, don't lie," I say with a matter-of-fact tone.
"There you guys are," I hear a familiar voice say. Billy! He wanders up with a small flashlight in his left hand and another man behind him. "This is Eddie. He was the only guy I could find this late," he explains. "Sorry about the dark," Nick says, "Lia, there's a mechanic here who's going to get you guys out okay?" "Alright" she trembles.
About ten minutes later, under the three flashlights we had, the mechanic closed his toolbox. "What are you doing?" I ask. "There's nothing I can do. There isn't anything wrong with this elevator, it just stopped," Eddie says standing up. "Sorry," he says and picks up his own flashlight.

"Lia, are you okay?" I ask. "Yeah I think Aaron's starting to wake up. How's it going down there? The noises stopped, is he close?" The four of us exchange glances, "It's- uh- close. Hang in there," Zak lies then motions for us to come towards him. "What do we do now?" Billy asks. I glance at Eddie who is about to leave, "Excuse me, but can I see your tool box?" I ask him. He shrugs and hands it to me. I kneel down and rummage through, crowbars. Two of them. "Here!" I whisper excitedly and hand them both to Nick, who was closest to me. "Nice!" He responds. "You guys can keep those. I'm getting out of this place," Eddie says and rushes out. Nick hands one of the bars to Billy and they get to work.
Lia's POV
More noises start up as I keep trying to get Aaron awake. He fidgets a little. I take a deep breath, "Aaron?" I bite my lip as he lets out a tiny groan. "Aaron?" I say a little louder, checking his pulse. It was slowing down a little bit, but only just. "Nick, Zak what's goin' on? We gotta get out of here," he says with panic. "Aaron, its only me. Nick and Zak are right outside though," I do my best to keep my voice steady. "Outside where?" "We're still in the elevator, but we will be out soon. Those noises are the others trying to get us out." I hope, I think to myself.
A soft, eerie creak fills the area and I use the night vision on the camera to see what it was. Focusing it on the elevator doors, they start to open just a crack. Finally! I keep my eyes on the screen and the gap gets wider. Soon, I could see the light from their flashlights. "Okay, Lia, Aaron, pass down your cameras and recorders first." Nick says. I tremble as I lean over the edge and dangle the camera. Luckily we were only about halfway up the opening so Zak could reach it just fine, along with the other equipment. "Okay we are all right here, we'll help you down," Billy's voice rings. I turn to where I knew Aaron was sitting, "You can go first," I say calmly. "Nah, Lia. It will be easier for them to get the smaller of the two first." He says, only slightly back to his original tone of voice. I hold my breath as I use the faint, battery-powered light to find one of the guys' hands, and a second one. "Okay, jump" Nick instructs. I slide myself off of the elevator floor and pray I reach the ground. I land on the hard floor and exhale, also stumbling into who I believed to be Nick. Soon after they help Aaron down. He sits on the floor and places his head in his hands. "Are you okay?" Zak asks. "Yeah just give me a second," Aaron mumbles. I feel Bailee hug me from behind and I turn around and hug back. I sigh. We were okay.

"Check his neck," I say remembering the scratches. "Why?" Nick asked. "In the elevator, there were these three scratches that appeared on the back of his neck. Soon after that, he had the panic attack." I explain. "That is probably what caused it." Zak said stubidly. "Really!? I didn't even think of that!" I said sarcastically. I heard Bailey chuckle slightly.
Aaron catches his breath and relaxs for a minute while we sit and make small talk. Aaron stands up and says "Lets finish this!" He walks down to the first floor and we all follow him. Bailee looks at me. "I think this might be the best night of my life." She says. "I think it is." I say smiling back at her.
