Syntax wasn't having it today. His newest project he was working on was deemed worthless by the spider queen. The spider hybrid had spent forever tinkering, and meddling with it, he was quite proud of his work then, the queen immediately just told him it was useless!

Syntax was upset and exhausted, he threw a tantrum like a child. He stood at his desk trying not to break down. He usually would shove off the queens words and still be proud of it regardless but due to the lack of sleep it turned him into a huge baby.

He felt heart broken and tired, he slammed his fists on his desk in frustration. A loud grunt escaping his lips.

"UGH! why is she just so-!" Syntax couldn't finish his sentence, hot tears welled up in his eyes.

"Why am I crying?! Tough hybrid spiders don't cry!" Syntax hiccuped as tears streamed down his face. He tried desperately to stop crying, frantically wiping his eyes with his hands and sleeves. Man he was really sleep deprived.

The mayor was strolling through the cave, grinning maniacally like he always did. He just so happened to pass by syntax's office, he peered in for fun and saw the hybrid face down in the desk, sobbing like he had just went through a heartbreak.

The mayor just stared at the poor guy, crying like a child who couldn't have candy. He almost felt bad, he thought he should maybe just-

Syntax looked up and spotted the mayor staring at him. He panicked and wiped his face quickly, ".....how long were you standing there?" Syntax looked at him.

"Long enough to see your little breakdown." The mayor slowly walked up to syntax.

"H-hey stay back! Just leave me to sulk in peace!!" Syntax swatted his hands at the mayor. "Just stay silent." Cold hands gripped syntax's.

All of a sudden the mayor pulled him into a hug? Syntax's eyes went wide. He didn't know THE mayor, the LBD'S right hand man could be so affectionate! The hug felt cold yet warm all at the same time. Syntax liked this feeling, it felt like a thousand kisses all over his body. He loved it.

Syntax immediately accepted the hug, pulling him closer. "a....are you...alright? I heard about the project and what the spider queen said." The mayor let go and just gripped his hands.

"Yeah..." Syntax stood up "ugh! Why can't she just be grateful I even work for her! I gave my blood, sweat and tears into that stupid project!" Syntax stomped his foot.

"Calm yourself. I don't want you throwing your little tantrums again." The mayor wrapped his arms around the hybrids waist, trying to calm him somewhat.

"as a matter of fact..." The mayor suddenly teleported to his room. "What-" syntax was cut off by the mayor placing him in the bed, gently spooning him. "You look like you haven't slept in ages. Just relax." The mayor just held him.

"Argh..whatever." Syntax despite acting like he hated it actually found comfort in the cold, dead hands.

He took a well deserved nap that afternoon.
