《Blood Walkers (A Once In A Bluemoon Novel Series #1) COMPLETED》Chapter Seventeen: What now

I walked out the room, feeling like I should give him some space to sort his mind. I clenched my fists and sighed, feeling knotted and tied up. I walked out the large doors and into the garden once more, walking towards her tomb stone.
"I finally understand Grey, Brave," I knelt down and stroked her stone. "You shouldn't have left him though, now I have to walk in a love triangle... Trying to figure out who I will be with for the rest of life."
"What do you mean try?" I jumped up in shock only to see Hunter half hidden in the shadows of a tree. "Emily... Tell me you're not staying with him..."
"I didn't say I was staying with him Hunter, I just have to think."
"I'm your mate... There isn't anything to think about. Emily... Don't do this to me, I'm in love with you!" He walked out of the shadow and laced our fingers together, gently placing his forehead on mine. "I need you more than he could ever want Emily. I found you and I can't lose you... Don't let me down." He whispered, stroking my cheek gently.
I shut my eyes and sighed, placing my hand on his chest.
"I love you too Hunter," I whispered, looking into his eyes. "Grey is in pain, I can't just leave him right now and you know how it feels because I know I'm doing the same to you, but his past is worse and his broken, I just need to stitch the wounds that were made long ago, I promise we'll be together."
He smiled weakly and kissed my hand. His eyes were giving out the pain he was holding in him and yet he tried to suppress it.
"Hunter," I stroked his cheek gently. "Just be strong for us okay?"
"It's getting hard when I know you exist and stay here," he said and added a forced chuckle at the end. "I can't take the pressure."

"Just a bit longer Hunter," I smiled and placed a short kiss on his lips which he relaxed to a bit.
"But... What will happen if you fall in love with him, Emily? Will I... Be nothing to you?" He tightened the hold on our laced fingers, nearly making me scream.
"I'll try not to, Hunter." I smiled but he frowned, taking a deep breath before letting it out.
"Can I have you for today? If you're free... Maybe a run around the forest?" He asked, taking me into a tight hug as he stroked my hair. "Please say yes."
"Why not?" I asked and he pulled away, smiling.
He held onto my hand and ran into the forest, the breeze immediately covering my hair and face.
She was back.
We reached a cliff and I looked down, smooth flowing water harboured underneath, undisturbed and untouched.
"Ready?" He asked, tightening the grip on my hand. I slowly nodded and he smiled widely, jumping off the edge and taking me along with him by hand.
I screamed in horror, what should I do now!
I saw him majestically transform into his wolf and howled, turned his back to face me.
This was it....
I shut my eyes breathing in. She was here and was taking over now.
I felt myself lighten up as I heard my clothes get ripped apart and fur immediately covered my bare skin.
Before I could think, we crushed into the water, he howled out in happiness and I howled back, splashing at the joy of finally transforming. He swam to the shore and I followed behind. Once we got onto the shore, he shook off the water and so did I, imitating his every move.
"Race around?" He asked pointing with his head towards the forest.
"I bet I'm fast." I laughed, marveling my wolf in the reflection of the water.
She had a deep shade of brown fur with a darker brown shading at the corners of her eyes to her ears. She was beautiful.

"Then let's dance!" He ran in, leaping and sprinting wildly into the forest.
I ran after him, feeling relieved, like I had been holding a stone inside of me and it had been lifted.
I did a howl that made me feel more alive than before and he howled after me, glancing over his shoulder to me.
It was perfect....

"This is so uncomfortable," I chuckled and he simply smiled as he pulled out his shirt for me to take.
"You'll get used to it." he said as he wore his shorts.
"It's not really charming to know many girls have seen my mate nude before." I glared at him with a suspicious but playful expression.
"Well..." He blushed and looked away, scratching the back of his head. "Fine, I won't be transforming back in public." he held out his hand in surrender and I smiled.
"You couldn't fit your own door in transformation Hunter." I buttoned up the shirt and sighed. Angered enough that my lower section of my body was bigger than my upper body so his shirt got a bit tight around the thighs.
"It's getting late," I sighed and he frowned, looking away as he clenched his jaw. I walked to him and cupped his cheeks. "Remember what I said Hunter." I whispered and he nodded, looking at me.
"I just want you there... Every time I wake up Emily," he stroked my cheek. "I don't want to leave you here, so far you're the best thing that has ever happened to me, so don't fall for him.... Please,"
"Hunter," I hugged him and he buried his head into my neck. "I'll try."
"I need you Emily." He tightened the hug.
"I need you too." I whispered and he sighed as we walked back to Grey's territory.
We reached the garden and I gave him one last kiss before I turned, only to gasp in terror when I saw Grey, looking directly at us with pain shot eyes, his whole body tensed as he shifted his glare to Hunter who stared back challengingly.
"Hunter, you have to go... Please." I whispered to him and he sighed in defeat before taking my hand in his and planted a soft kiss on them.
"Anything for you Emily," he smiled. "Come home soon." He whispered and pulled me to him.
Our lips met once more as he held on to my waist, kissing passionately and it affected me so much that my body shuddered.
When we lost both our breath, he moved his lips from mine and to my cheek then neck.
"Hunter," I moaned and gasped, softly pushing him away. "Grey is watching!"
"So? He doesn't matter Emily," he said but sighed out. "Anyway, see you later... Mate." he kissed my forehead once more and left, transforming into the beautiful black wolf.
I turned, Grey was no longer looking at me but to the side, avoiding my eyes.
"Grey, look i-"
"I thought you meant it Emily... You said it..."
"Grey you just have to unde-"
"No, you understand!" He spat and I flinched. "I've told you everything but you still want to break me!"
"Grey calm down," I held his shoulder but he shoved me from him rather forcefully.
"You fucking calm down!" He roared and I simply stared at him in disbelief. He shut his eyes, breathing heavily and rubbing his temples. "Shit, I'm so sorry Emily."
I simply shoved him from the door and walked in.
I will never understand him not for a second. One second he's begging me not to go to someone who loves me and is my mate, the next second he's screaming in my face.
Oh Grey....

A Girl and Her Food
When a lost girl wakes up without a name, she quickly finds herself alone in a way that people around her can’t fix. Without a real plan and desperate to find what’s wrong with her, she thrashes and bites to stay alive. But human beings are weak things, that band together for strength, no matter who we are. Now if only she could work up the courage to ask one question... It’s normal to get stronger when you drink the blood of monsters. Right? Things to expect: - A powerful but kinda neurotic and emotional protagonist, with some degree of weak to strong. Or maybe strong to stronger, honestly. She's pretty rational and practical about things but won't always make the best decisions, so be warned if you super-dislike characters doing dumb stuff for emotional reasons sometimes. - Lots of dialogue and characterization, especially as we get more into it. It's focused on a single POV, but there might be some sections of other POVs later on, I'm not sure right now. - Magic is on the softer side, but I'll try to keep things fleshed out enough to avoid any obvious "well-established magic could have seemingly instantly solved this problem" moments. - I didn't add the mystery tag because I feel like it implies that this is a detective novel or something, but the story is absolutely incredibly opaque at times. So you'll have the most fun if you go into it trying to puzzle out the nature of events before they're explicitly explained!😇 - Also, I added the genre for completion, but it's gonna take a while to get to the romance. Please wait warmly and have some tea. Participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge!
