Vanessa's pov

I was confused on why Cyrus left. I wanted to say something but I just couldn't. Everyone was now paying attention to Kira, and I wanted to get her out of this.

"Kira, what did you do?" I said

Before Kira could answer me, I heard buffy get up, and start talking.

"I'll tell you what she did. She made Cyrus feel all alone, just because she wanted everything her way!" Buffy yelled.

I still didn't understand what she meant, and I wanted to know more.

"And not only did she do that, but she messed with the girls basketball team. She treated them like they were dirt" Buffy said loudly.

I was shocked. Kira would never do anything like that. I'm sure of it.

"And if you don't get what I mean by 'making Cyrus feel all alone' then let me make it more clear for you. She manipulated Tj into doing the costume with her, instead of Cyrus. How's that for a best friend?" Buffy said clearly upset.

This time, I was mad. I can't believe this is happening. Why now? Why can't they just get along?

I looked at Kira, with tears in my eyes.

"Vanessa. I'm so sorry. I just- You know how I am! You know how hard it is for me to make friends, and do normal stuff. You know that."

She said on the verge of bursting into tears.

"Your right. I do know that. But manipulating people? You know better than to even do anything like that! Why? Why would you do that?" I asked her, letting fears fall down my face.

"B-because...I just...they..." Kira said at a loss of words.

"They what?" I screamed.

"They're gay. And I just don't support it at all." She said, making my heart break into pieces.

I'm bisexual. How would she treat me if I told her that? Would we still be friends?

"You know..I don't even understand why you are friends with them. These fags. Are you actually insane? Did you even know Cyrus was gay? Andi's probably gay too! And so is amber! They all probably are. I just don't underst-"

SLAP!

I slapped Kira right across the face

This bitch.

"Don't ever talk about them like that. They aren't fags. And so what if Cyrus is gay? I support it. And wanna know why I do?"

I paused in my sentence.

"Because I am too" I said smiling at her like Satan himself, had possessed me.

I had never spoken to anyone like that. Nor have I ever put my hands on anyone in a harmful way. I could tell Jonah was shocked by my actions, but to be honest I was shocked by them too.

"Y-you are?" Kira said holding her face in pain.

"Yes!" I said

"I-I'm sorry" she said running out of the room, and grabbing her bags.

I heard the front door slam. At that point, I was crying. But my tears soon stopped and I finally got a hold of myself.

"So, are we gonna talk about what just happened?" Andi said kind of confused.

"Not right now. Please not right now." I said calmly.

"Is she gone?" I heard someone say from behind me.

I turned around and saw Cyrus looking through the doorway, terrified. I giggled slightly and spoke.

"Yes. She's gone" I said smiling.

"Oh. Well then let the sleepover begin!" He said making everyone cheer.

TJ's pov

"Guys!" Vanessa yelled all of sudden while we were playing a card game.

"Yes?" We all replied

"Tomorrow! TOMORROW!!!" She said showing us all her phone.

We were all confused, and we couldn't really see her phone so we didn't know what she was going off about.

"Let me explain. So I chose the two people i think should um...date, so that means tomorrow I have to preform that stupid song!"

We were all so confused on why she would be singing a song. I was about to say something until all of our phones buzzed. I looked down at mine, and begin reading what was in my notifications.

I clicked on the one that said Mr Metcalf made an announcement, assuming that's the notification everyone else got and began reading it.

Hello! A lot of you know about the contest that we give every year that's ran by Vanessa Beck, and some of her friends.

Those of you that have classes on the east side of the building, dont know much about it. So if your on the west side of the building, you don't have to read this, if your on the east, it's required that you read this announcement.

Tomorrow Vanessa will be performing her first song out of 10. It will be after school at 3:30 and I hope you all can make it.

Each song she sings, is one of her own, and they all revolve around the two specific people she's chosen.

After each song, everyone who attended the concert, will have 5 minutes to think over the lyrics of the song, and guess the two people they are about.

The contest will not end until somebody guesses the two, and if we are at the 3rd song and nobody has made any guesses, Vanessa will give hints. Nobody knows who they are, besides Vanessa and 2 of her friends.

Anyways, I hope to see you all there tomorrow, and thank you for taking your time to read this, as it was required. Stay smart.

I finally understood this whole contest, and thought about it. It seemed quite stupid, but I guess it was a fun way to start ending off the year.

"So...two friends?" Andi inquired while raising her eyebrows.

"Huh?" Vanessa said clearly freaking out.

Andi rolled her eyes and started explaining what she meant.

"You can have 2 friends that know about the...um couple thing or whatever it is" Andi said confused.

"Oh yeah. Yeah only 2 friends" she said looking around the room.

It was silent, so I started talking again.

"What the hell are you looking for?" I said to Vanessa who was still looking around the room.

Her eyes darted to me and she began glaring.

"Paper and a pencil you idiot!" She said getting up and looking through Andi's stuff.

"Woah woah woah, stop right there, you can't touch my stuff" Andi said grabbing Vanessa's hand from her so called "valuable items".

"I need a paper!" She screamed, as her voice echoed through the whole house.

"What for?" Buffy said chiming in the conversation.

She stayed silent for a few moments before talking again.

"I...need to write the song" she said silently, but loud enough for everyone to hear.

My jaw dropped. Had she not written the song yet?

"What do you mean write the song?" Cyrus said getting up slowly.

"I didn't write it yet..?" She said. I'm not sure if that was a statement, or a very dumb question.

"What?!" We all screamed.

"Well shit, sorry. I didn't have time! We had this whole sleepover, and I remember telling kira to remind me to write it when I got here. But she left. And I'm not sure if we're even friends anymore." She said slumping down on Andi's bed.

I can't believe this. How could she still be friends with Kira? Does she not forget that she slapped her? Right across the face? It looked like she didn't want to be her friend.

But I guess sometimes I'm not always right.
