《The Broken House》Leo's Eccentric Behavior
Advertisement
From the day Leo heard the truth about Mrs. Clark, it keeps him up all night. He pictured how Nadine felt that night. If his parents jilted him, he would be crushed and lonely. So, Leo decided to help his friend. If he is going to do it, he will need some research.
"Dad?"
"Yes, Leo?"
"What would you do if you are- I mean- know an orphan?" Tod looked up at his son with a curious look.
"What is this about?"
"You know how there are orphans running town."
"Yes, though some are in the orphanage, thanks to Inspector O'Connor."
"But, what if you know an orphan who doesn't want to go to the orphanage?"
"I don't know what to say. Adoption is not allowed in Shady Brook."
"Something needs to change about it."
"You know, your mother and I thought the same. However, the only way that can happen is if the mayor knows about it." After a moment, he asked, "What made you ask that?"
Leo knows he doesn't want Nadine in trouble. He also doesn't want to break his promise to her. So, his reply was "Just curious".
After that talk with his dad, he went to the library. It was the best option because, unlike almost everyone, Leo doesn't consider O'Connor a hero of the less fortunate. He saw how brutal he acts to the orphans he sends away.
Though his research gained no success, Leo found A Little Princess. Believing that Nadine will like it, he checked the book out. He headed to Nadine's house and knocked on the door. She opened it and he slid himself right in. "What is that in your hand?" she asked.
"A Little Princess by Frances Hodgson Burnett. I thought you'll enjoy it."

Looking at the cover, Nadine inquired, "Are you sure?"
"Of course." Leo handed her the book.
"Thanks."
"You're welcome."
"Why did you choose this?"
Leo wanted to say that Sara Crewe is like her. Tell him how Nadine's loneliness made him angry and sorry for her. On the other hand, he doesn't want to offend her. Even so, he said, "It's a good book."
Meanwhile, back at the Walkers' house, Tod and Gina prepare for dinner as they wait for their son's return. As he was cooking and she's setting the table, he asked, "Have you noticed how different Leo has been behaving?"
"How so?"
"Earlier today, he asked me about orphans who doesn't want to be sent to the orphanage. "
Gina faces her husband. "What did you tell him?"
"Basically how adoption is illegal here and the mayor should do something about it."
"Now that you mentioned that, I heard that the orphanage is running out of space. Aside from that, why would Leo be concerned about this?"
"He won't say. But, I think it might have something to do with the day we passed by the Clark house."

Good Guy Necromancer
Necromancers are murderous, repulsive, utterly ungodly creatures. And then there's Jerry. Jerry is a novice necromancer who treats his undead warmly, seeks to befriend people instead of harvest their bodies, and doesn't mind cracking a skull or two when needed. He genuinely is a good guy—too bad nobody believes him. Jerry tries to settle down, wanting nothing but a peaceful life for him and his undead—and, when that doesn't quite work out, he sets out to adventure. He will make friends, each unique in their own way, and together, they will travel through a variety of striking environments; from a tiny village, to the land of the dead, to a jolly archipelago, to a kingdom on a beanstalk. To save a world that shuns him, Jerry must stand against a large organization of arrogant, mighty wizards. He strives to become stronger while maintaining his kindness, only to realize that, maybe, gentle hearts make the greatest necromancers. This is the story of a delightful man in a harsh world—full of warmth, action, and wise-cracking bone puns. Chapters are usually 2-3k words, and updates are 3/week: Mon, Wed, Fri. If you're looking for another fun, action-packed adventure, check out Cultivator vs. System by yours truly, available on Kindle, KU, and Audible. But read Good Guy Necromancer first.

The Casual
Notice: On hiatus. *profanity tag added just in case a bit of swearing is required, but I'll try to keep it as profanity-lite as possible* RealWorldIII came with the motto "Bringing the imagination back into the gaming" with an innovative skill combination system that promises to create unique (see: not-actually-unique) characters tailored to each player's preferences (see: we-swear-it's-not-random) Alex is a random guy with the motto "Well... whatever" with a history of being at the top of the gaming scene (see: he was a kid back then) that after twenty years of working for daily necessities finds himself facing a tough dilemma: do I go back to being a corporate slave, or do I gain money by playing a game no questions asked? (see: not really a dilemma) The only question is, can an actual "casual", even if ex-pro, survive constantly playing a game? or will he end banging his head on the wall? The story will unfold mainly in-game, with little if any real life events happening.
