𝓦ells is dead, and Anastasia is a complete mess. When Clarke broke the news to her, she saw the faces looking at her, but all she could feel was the quickness of the heartbeat, and the tears erupting from her eyes.
"I can save him!" She screamed watching his body get taken away, "Stop! I can save him!" She yelled louder but they didn't stop.
"Ana, he's gone" Clarke said trying to control her flailing friend as she wrapped her arms around the sobbing girl's shoulder pulling her away from the body.
Wells was the only person in her life, after Clarke got arrested, that understood where she was coming from. They both grew up with overbearing and powerful fathers, and naturally by birth they were friends.
They friendship grew when Anastasia became friends with Clarke. It was their unstoppable trio. Wells was the only one that Anastasia could confided her stressful life with and Anastasia was the only one who knew about Wells's crush on Clarke when it wasn't so obvious.
Since they got to the ground, she felt that she wasn't able to help Wells, when Murphy beat him up the first time, Murphy's removing his wristband, Murphy beating him up the second time, and now this. Nothing she did could save Wells, and his last days she was too focused on Jasper.
"Let go of me!" Anastasia screamed, ripping herself from Clarke and running towards to drop ship, closing herself out from the world. She ran up the stairs going to the top level, that was evacuated ever since Jasper got better. She collapsed on the floor sliding her knees into her face as she sobbed hysterically.
"Ana?" She heard Bellamy's voice as he popped open the door stepping off the ladder and into the room.
"I really don't want to hear it right now" she said her eyes covered in tears, as she turned her head up towards him. This was the first time she had fallen apart in front of him, almost like a payback for her seeing his panic attack last night.
"I'm sorry about Wells" Bellamy retorted stepping forward towards her noticing his jacket still around her body as she clung to it for comfort.
"He was the closest thing I had to a best friend, and he was my only friend" Anastasia explained barely even able to think about without busting into tears "and now, he's gone" She choked out balling up as Bellamy slid down the wall that Anastasia was propped up against,"and it feels like everybody is happy, the chancellor's kid is gone, what am i next?" She questioned in a sick question as she looked beside her with a wet face.
"No one is going to hurt you" Bellamy stated looking into her red eyes as she wiped the dried tears with her fingers, "And Wells isn't your only friend anymore" he added causing a throaty laugh to come from Anastasia.
"So are we friends now?" She questioned with a slight smile.
"I mean Clarke, Octavia, Monty, Jasper" He began listing off as her smile began to fade, "And yeah, even me, I guess" He nodded looking at her.
"I don't think I can go back out there" Anastasia shook her head changing the subject.
"You can't stay in here forever" Bellamy retorted back.
"I know" she sighed placing her head in her hands, as she slid her hands up and down through her hair. She removed her hands as she looked at him with a disheveled appearance, "I just need some time"

"Okay take all the time you need" Bellamy replied standing up as he turned back to her watching her secede into his jacket again. Bellamy closed the hatch as he walked down the ladder.
Anastasia took 2 days, she never left the room, and Bellamy didn't let anybody in. Besides the times where he opened the hatch to ask how she was, and give her a meal. When she walked out she found herself in a middle of the wall building process. The whole operation, seemed to be overpowering, it was a lot to take in after locking yourself in a room for 2 days.
"Hey princess, stop watching, and start working!" Murphy yelled at Anastasia from across the yard where he stood with Bellamy and one of Murphy's goons, Bellamy's attention was drawn to the name, as he turned his head to the girl. Who had this overwhelmed look on her face, it only increased when Murphy tried to get her attention.
"Not her" Bellamy said smacking Murphy's chest before hustling over to Anastasia, "How are you feeling?" Bellamy asked laying a hand on her shoulder.
"Um, better, i guess, i really don't want to talk about it" Anastasia replied shaking off his hand.
"Bellamy! I didn't know the princess got special treatment!" Murphy shouted over the yard causing all the workers to stop and look over and them as Anastasia reverted to hermit like actions.
"Murphy! She's not ready!" Bellamy shouted back clearly angry at him stepping in front of Anastasia trying to protect her.
"I'm ready" Anastasia spoke softly, laying her hand on his shoulder pulling him back, "i want to contribute, Bell" she added looking over to the operation that was taking place.
"No, no" Bellamy disagreed strongly shaking his head "you just left a room after being there in two days" he pointed out, "i'm not letting Murphy take control of you" he huffed out, "No" he repeated again.
"If i don't contribute now, everybody's going to continue to think i'm this princess who's above everybody else, I'm done with that" she answered as the people were still watching them pretending like they weren't as they tied loops around the trees, "Tell me what I can do Murph and I'll do it!" Anastasia screamed back at Murphy, ignoring as Bellamy tried to grab a hold of her.
"How about you help that little girl there, you guys have about the same usefulness level!" Murphy joked pointing to Charlotte who was in the middle. Anastasia pulled out of Bellamy's grip as she walked over to Charlotte's spot. Noticing the girl immediately tense up in her presence. She could also feel another glare on her as Bellamy walked back over to Murphy with a stone cold face.
"Hey Charlotte" Anastasia said, and she didn't get a reply. Charlotte looked up at her and instantly back down, like she was frightened by something.
Suddenly a guy fell down in front of Charlotte and Anastasia causing Anastasia to jump a little after already feeling uneasy. Anastasia looked at the guy who fell down as he inched in and out of consciousness. Anastasia went from uneasy to worried as the boy was still on the ground.
"Hey!" Murphy yelled stomping over to the kid "You think the grounders are just gonna sit around and wait for us to finish the wall?" Murphy questioned the kid roughly, "maybe we should let the little girl do the heavy lifting, huh?" Murphy questioned kicking the kid as he pointed to Charlotte.
"I just need some water, ok?" The kid uttered looking scared at Murphy trying to meet his eye, before turning his head down towards the ground, "Then i'll be fine" he added as Murphy scoffed nodding.

"You should get him water" Anastasia said as Murphy laughed loudly before turning on a straight face, as he stood still, "he could die from dehydration" Anastasia uttered roughly kneeling down to the kid checking his blood pressure and his temperature.
"I don't answer to you prince...." Murphy voice veered off with Bellamy collapsed his hand on Murphy's shoulder squeezing it roughly.
"Murphy, get him some water" Bellamy replied as Murphy nodded as Bellamy just smiled at Anastasia before walking off. Anastasia turned around watching Bellamy's interaction with Charlotte. She could tell that Bellamy was seeing her as a sister, as he playfully joked with her before helping her and moving the tree bark that the kid dropped by himself.
"Uhh!" The kid screamed suddenly rushing up pushing Anastasia fully on the ground, "What the hell is wrong with you Murphy!" The kid screamed running at Murphy only to be stopped by his goons, "I'll kill you!" He screamed held back by Murphy's goons.
"You wanted a water break, get back to work!" He screamed causing the rest of the workers to stop watching his altercation. The kid was pushed away and sent back to work. Murphy sneered at the girl walking over to her. He held out his hand to the girl, she looked at it before using both of her hands to push herself up off the ground.
"Get to work!" He sneered at her when she stood up.
Bellamy, along with Clarke, Octavia, and Jasper have been gone for awhile and Murphy was still hovering around Anastasia's work, hoping to catch her anytime she failed. Soon enough he found another person to torture by smacking a water cup out of a kid's hand.
"No water till this section is up" Murphy said sending the kid back to work. Clarke came out of a tent with furiously with a killer's eyes. She ran up to Murphy pushing him roughly near Anastasia. She looked at the event taking place with confusion.
"You son of a bitch!" Clarke yelled getting restrained by Murphy's goons as a crowd began to form around them, Anastasia pushed her way over to the circle. As she moved her way to the front of the crowd.
"What's your problem?" Murphy asked confused, with a egotistical demeanor.
"Recognize this" Clarke said holding up knife with a yellow scratch up handle. It was Murphy's knife that he used since he arrived but Anastasia recognized it from when he used it to cut down Jasper from the tree.
"It's my knife" Murphy answered bluntly trying to reach for it, "where you find it?" He asked generally confused as Clarke pulled it away before he could grab it.
"Where you dropped it after you killed Wells" Clarke replied, holding the knife at him as Murphy grew this confused look. Anastasia was thrown into shock as she heard those words, she didn't process his face, all she could see was the amount of smirks that Murphy held whenever Wells was in harm.
"You fucking asshole!" Anastasia screamed running into the group, with her fist ready. His gang had dispersed leaving him open for attack.
Bellamy grabbed her back, forcing her hand down, "Not now" Bellamy whispered in her ear as he wrapped her thrashing body into his trying to call her down.
"Where i what?" Murphy questioned as the crowd was growing more intense, "the grounders killed Wells, not me" he said in a believable voice as he looked at the crowd.
"I know what you did, and you're going to pay for it" Clarke replied stepping up to him, swinging the knife at his face. Murphy pushed back Clarke and ran up to Bellamy, causing Anastasia to sneak her arms out as she pushed Murphy roughing back into the middle of the circle.
"Really?" He yelled picking himself back up, he came back to Bellamy making sure not to get too close, "Bellamy, you really believe this crap?" He pleaded desperately.
"You threatened to kill him, we all heard you" Clarke replied bluntly as Murphy scoffed, "You hated Wells" Clarke added on
"Plenty of people hated Wells, his father was the chancellor that locked us up" Murphy explained trying to get others behind him but they were still reluctant.
"Yeah but you're the only one who got in a knife fight with him" Clarke uttered, fighting his points.
"Yeah i didn't kill him then, either" Murphy replied breathily.
"Tried to kill Jasper, too" Octavia butted in, before getting a scolding look by her brother.
"Come on, this is ridiculous, i don't have to answer to you" he retorted with a snort, "I don't have to answer to anybody!" Murphy screamed getting angrier. Bellamy loosened his grip on Anastasia pushing back to Octavia.
"Come again?" Bellamy asked stepping out into the circle, Murphy rushed over to Bellamy once again pleading.
"Bellamy, look, I'm telling you man, i didn't do this" Murphy said, Anastasia looked into his eyes. They didn't show of killer tendencies, at most they head a fearful glance. She felt uneasy staring at his eyes, as they seemed glazed over in horror, not guilt from his crime, but horror that he's going to be killed.
"They found his fingers on the ground with your knife" Bellamy stated, as Murphy glanced over to Anastasia with a bitter look.
"Is this the kind of society we want? You say there should be no rules, does that mean we can kill each other with out punishment?" Clarke said pleasing the crowd
"I already said i didn't kill him" Murphy stated again getting anxious.
"I say we float him!" A kid cried out from the circle, followed by multiple agreements.
"That's not what i'm saying" Clarke replied, as the kid who Murphy peed on step out.
"Why not? He deserves to float" the kid stated, "it's justice" he pointed out looking towards his peers.
"Revenge isn't justice" Clarke combatted back against the crowd. The intensity had gotten out of hand in mere seconds and anyone could see that.
"It's justice!" The kid screamed again loudly.
"Float him!" the kid said as the circle began chanting, Murphy headed to attack the kid, as was tripped falling down to the ground where they started beating him.
"Let him go!" Anastasia screamed trying to run over to the mob to help Murphy, only to be pulled back. Someone tied a spare seatbelt around his mouth as a gag and they threw him down the hill. Anastasia pushed through to follow after the mob. Other people looped a thing wire around a tree before tying it around Murphy's neck, putting him over a box as he struggled to breath.
"No! No!" Anastasia screamed trying to break pass the kid guarding Murphy.
"You can stop this they listen to you" Clarke yelled at Bellamy.
"Bellamy!" The kid yelled, "you should do it" he started a chain of people chanting Bellamy's name.
"Don't do this Bellamy" Anastasia said grabbing his arm, looking in his eyes. She could tell that he didn't want do it.
"I saw you in the woods with Atom, you're not a killer" Clarke added, as Bellamy's eyes drifted back to the hung Murphy. Bellamy shook off Anastasia arm and began walking to Murphy.
"You can't do this! Bellamy!" Anastasia screamed with tear frantically running down her eyes.
"No! Bellamy!" Clarke screamed watching him pass through, he snapped back at Clarke.
"This is on you, you should've keep your mouth shut" He yelled at her.
He walked over to Murphy and without hesitation kicked over the box, Murphy fell. Anastasia looked at the scene in horror, she watched Murphy's face turn lifeless as she tried to force her way to cut Murphy down.
"What the hell is going on here?!" Finn screamed coming out of the forest, "cut him down!" He tried to force Charlotte to leave by covering her eyes and pushing her out of the crowd but she wouldn't budge.
"Cut him down!" Anastasia screamed in agreement as the crowd just watched him hang.
"Stop!" Charlotte called out from the back of the crowd, "okay, Murphy didn't kill Wells! I did!" Charlotte screamed as the crowd grew quiet.
"Oh my" Clarke yelled as, Finn used an axe to cut the ropes as Murphy loosened them as he chocked, he grabbed his throat trying to get his breaths back to normal. Anastasia was sent into shock again as Clarke moved to Charlotte bringing her away from the crowd.
Anastasia was readying herself to go after the girl as her blood boiled once again. A hand pulled her arm back, as she was forced in someones chest as their arms wrapped around her back. Anastasia tried to force herself out of the hug, as she could hear the conversation around.
"Tie her up!" They were shouting as the legs began pulling her up the hill, she only was able to see when she was brought into a tent as the flap collapsed around them.
