《One bowl of Spicy Noodles》Chapter 11

Chilling on the couch before they have to leave for work, MK and Red Son are just watching some cartoons when the door slams open. The two are startled, what with the demons attacking the two near constantly, but to their relief, it's just Pigsy.
"Okay, I know--for a fact--that our shifts start in an hour. We don't have to leave for another thirty minutes, alright?"
"Oh, don't worry about that, because I got some great news!"
The two look at each other, a bit concerned, but more curious than anything else.
"As you know, we've been close for the last three days. There's a reason for this. You see, I've been saving up for this for ages now, and with the recent boom in business, I justified the purchase as it would help me keep up with orders."
Pigsy starts pacing back and forth, shoulders straight, and hands behind his back. He looks like a commander talking to troops.
"So, I got some workers to come over and upgrade my kitchen a bit. New knives, new bowls, new ovens and stovetops, new fridge, one big upgrade is what I got! So, you better not be late! I even put an ad out talking about how we upgraded everything and got the place cleaned up a lot! You know, people online are already stoked at the idea of getting more food from us, so it's gonna be a busy day."
Red Son and MK look at each other, Red Son getting up.
"Wait, don't tell me you're getting ready! We have thirty minutes!"
"If people are really as excited as Pigsy says they are then there will be traffic by work. So, we have to leave early."
"But-but!"
"Come on, Noodle boy. We have to go to work."
MK groans, knowing he's right and that they'll have to cut TV time short today.
"Hey, look at it this way, MK, I'll be giving you a ride to work so you won't be late today."
Pigsy smiles at him, and MK gets up, getting ready for work.
------------------------------------------
Upon arrival, they note the line of people just to get in to order. The shop doesn't open for another ten minutes, and people are out here waiting for this to reopen.
"Red, you'll be manning the counter today. MK, deliveries. I have this funny feeling that I won't be leaving the kitchen today."
Pigsy smiles as he says that, soon going over to address the line.
"Alright, everybody, letting you know now that we open in ten minutes! When they open, we kindly ask you to go one at a time! I don't want a fire hazard on my hands!"
Pigsy opens the shop for the two to get in, and they do. Upon entry, the three hear the noise of the phone ringing.
"MK, you take that, I'm getting my kitchen ready."
Pigsy rushes towards the kitchen, MK towards the phone, and Red Son sets up the tables and wipes off the counter. He decides to listen in on the phone, wondering what MK is saying to the customers.
"Hello, and thank you for calling Pigsy's Noodles, best noodles in the city, what would you like today?"
Indiceferable murmuring can be heard from where Red Son stands, though MK is jotting it down quickly.
"Alright, would that be all? Yes? Well, letting you know now that we just opened so it might be a few more minutes than normal. Of course, your food will be hot when it gets to you! We just have to wait for the kitchen to get hot is all, you know how cooking is. Alright, your total comes to twenty-two dollars and thirty-three cents. Okay, construction site down the way. Be there in twenty-five minutes. Thank you."

MK rushes over to Pigsy, handing him the ticket.
"MK, you'll be getting a nice tip today... because you'll be there in twenty with how fast this will be done! Red, open shop."
Red Son goes over to the door, opening the shop.
"Alright, everyone, try to calmly enter."
His words are disregarded quickly as people soon swarm the front counter, money in hand.
"Can we get a line? You'll get your food quickly if you get into a line."
Red Son knows it will be a long day.
-----------------------------------------------
Whereas before it was just people who were at work that wanted Pigsy's noodles, mainly just construction workers, students, and people looking to squeeze in a lunch break, currently it's like the entire city wants a bowl of Pigsy's noodles. Just to think, the line this morning was about thirty people... Though this isn't the busiest it's ever been. It's manageable. Actually, it's starting to slow down a bit. Then, a group of girls walks in. They stare at Red Son before he waves.
"Welcome to Pigsy's noodles, what would you like today?"
"You're Red Son, right?"
"Yes."
The group of girls all gasp seemingly all at once, practically swarming him.
"Can we get some pics!?"
"I-I mean, we're a bit busy right now, but sure?"
The group up, taking a picture with him.
"Okay, now what can I get you all?"
"You number~."
Red Son thinks about burning the girls to a crisp for wasting his time.
"It's against policy to do that. Also, we're busy. So, please order something."
The group orders their food, smiling and giggling while making some rather... inappropriate jokes towards him through ordering food. Mainly saying "big" or "spicy". He's partly disassociating, but he's more than aware of them taking pictures of him. He can't wait for them to just leave. He hands them their orders, seeing them smiling and giggling. These girls remind him exactly why he thought humans were nothing more than vile insects made to be crushed by him.
"Can you show us some of your fire~?"
Red Son lights his hand aflame, quickly putting it out, impressing the young women at the counter that are eating noodles, some of which are filming this. Though, he has other things to do. He gets to other customers, hoping they'll leave soon. Five minutes turns to ten, which turns to fifteen, and then twenty. They're still there. He sighs, knowing he'll have to politely confront them. He's good with confrontation, just not the polite part.
"Now, are you all done with your food? I'd hate to sound rude, but you've been here quite a while."
"Yeah, sadly. I mean, the food was great. I'll definitely be giving you five stars~."
She blows a kiss at him, making him want to gag. But, he just awkwardly smiles, trying not to throw the group of girls out. Before they leave, they give him a large tip in the tip jar while showing themselves out. Then Mei comes in, practically running into Red Son.
"Red, what have you done?!"
"Work all day, why?"
"Well, the internet is going crazy about you! Look at the hashtag! It's number one!"
He looks at the phone, seeing #RedSonHotBoy, #HotBoi, #RedHot, and #RedSonNoodles all trending, all with pictures of him. The girls posted him and his hand on fire and managed to get a perfect photo and post it. He'll admit, he looks good with that lighting. Though, the hundreds of thousands of likes aren't warranted.

"All this and it was posted ten seconds ago! Ten! Seconds! In ten minutes everyone will have seen this!"
Red Son realizes what this means. He takes her phone, looking through the tags... the location, number, and hours are all placed on the posts.
"Pigsy, we have a problem!"
"Did someone leave without payin'?!"
"Worse! Look! I have a feeling that your upgrades won't meet this kind of demand!"
Red Son shows Pigsy the posts, which initially makes his jaw drop. Then, he smiles. He takes out his own phone, looking at Red Son with a mischievous smirk.
"Kid, strike a pose with this bowl of noodles. I'm about to make rush hour look like speed racing. You know what? How about you invite them?"
Red Son does as instructed, adding his own flames to the picture.
"Ready? Go."
"Come by Pigsy's noodles and get a nice, hot meal at a reasonable price. Doctors, nurses, and construction workers get a discount... I don't know what else you want from me."
Pigsy sends the picture and video to Mei, giving her a fifty dollar bill. Mei quickly gets to work, soon sending new files to Pigsy. He smirks as the video plays with the phone number and location.
"Well, kid, this is our new ad. Nice filter, Mei."
"You paid, I made. Need me to join in on deliveries?"
"Yeah, sure. Orders out there, you know what to do."
She jumps the counter, going over to the kitchen.
"Get back to work, Kid."
Within the time frame of Pigsy getting back to the kitchen, ten more people have come in. All on their phone and smiling at the sight of Red Son. This day has gotten way longer.
----------------------------------------
The four can barely keep up with demand. Pigsy had to put a sign up saying that if people aren't here to order then they can't come in due to a busy business day. Of course, people still find ways to waste his time with needless conversation and flirting. Thankfully, Red Son has had to step into the kitchen to help Pigsy a bit with the constant orders.
"You know, Red, this upgrade is the best thing I've done in a long while. Since opening this place, really."
"May I remind you that you hired two great workers as well?"
"Yeah, without you I would have never touched this level of customers... and MK, who is in and out in seconds currently. Anyways, order up!"
Red Son takes the order, giving it to the man who ordered it. Then, he recognizes the man. He's a regular freeloader at this point. The only one that's allowed a tab.
"Tang, nice to see you. Surprised, honestly. What with the rush."
"I can't think of any other place that's half as good as this place--but don't tell Pigsy that, he might charge me extra. Though, to answer your question, I do have keys to the employees only exit and entry courtesy of MK and the twenty dollars I paid him to give it to me."
"So you broke in?"
"Yes. By the way, I can't help but notice that somehow everyone likes you, despite you not caring. How do you do that?"
"My looks most likely, though you can't blame me for acting like I don't care. The line to get in here is stretched around the block, you know? I don't have time to care right now."
Tang finishes his food, pausing the conversation while Red Son serves the other customers and then gets back to him.
"Well, Red, I think MK likes that attitude of yours too. You don't mean to be rude anymore, but it's still what it is. And, well, the way you word things to come across as how you mean to? It's charming... in its own way. For MK's sake, don't get rid of it. It might make more people flock here, but he loves that the most. I can tell."
Tang leaves, leaving Red Son to try and collect himself. MK... loves him? That, coming from someone--anyone--is a blessing he never knew he needed. Though. he gathers himself again to get back to work. There are too many people here to get distracted. Then, MK comes in, gathering more orders and quickly heading out. As he drives, he realizes these are all put mere minutes apart and they are way too far apart to actually deliver on time. Then, he remembers something. He pulls out a lock of hair, blowing on it. The duplicates appear, quickly taking the orders and leaving on their extending staffs and launching themselves. They all arrive, one by one, at their destinations. Within ten minutes, twenty orders have gone out and money has been collected. One by one, they all reconvene at Pigsy's Noodles. They all walk in, nearly at the same time.
"We close in ten, so this is the last bat-- why are there twenty of you?! Didn't you learn your lesson last time!?"
"I had to! There were twenty to thirty orders that needed to get delivered stat, and I delivered, okay? And, I got tips."
"Whatever, just get these orders out."
"Pigsy, we got another angry customer and they're asking for you--..."
Red Son stares at the MK army in front of him, and they stare back. Then, they gasp and smile.
"Red!"
They run towards him, completely swarming him. They start hugging him, messing with his hair, clinging to him, all talking over him about... well, Red Son can't make out what they're saying, they're talking over each other. He can decipher some of it, mainly praise of actions, abilities, and looks, but nothing much.
"H-hey! Everyone off him! We have work to do!"
"Yeah! You five, upfront! You other five, dish duty! As for the rest, get these deliveries out! You can cuddle with Red after!"
They look at each other, then they salute at Pigsy.
"We won't let you down!"
They all get to work, quickly leaving Red Son, MK, and Mei who just returned to do nothing.
"Alright, you three can clock out. Well, not MK because of the clones and all, but I think we're done for the day. I'll get things done from here."
"Finally! I haven't pushed my ride that far in ages!"
"Oh, and MK? You might not want to go back to your apartment upstairs. I believe we've used up all the hot water today."
"Ah, fun... well, looks like it's back to the fort."
------------------------------------------------
Getting snug in the mess of blankets, Red and MK have decided on a show. They have chips, they have drinks, and a few episodes to watch.
"This is gonna be so good!"
"Calm down, you'll knock your drink over."
"Pfft, yeah, sure. But, this is gonna be good!"
Then, as Red Son said it would, MK splashed his soda all over his shirt. Red Son chuckles before MK glares at him.
"Don't. Don't you dare."
"What? Say that I told you so? Because I did! Ahahahaha!
"Whatever, I'm gonna go change."
"I won't start without you, don't worry."
MK gets up, leaving the area. Then, a minute or so later, he's back.
"For some reason, I thought you'd take longer than that. You did put the shirt in the wash, correct?"
"Yeah, don't worry about it."
MK sits next to him, but right as Red Son is about to hit play on the laptop, MK does something that takes Red Son's breath away. It's simple, yet it means so much. A kiss on the cheek, causing him to flare. Red Son looks at MK, completely surprised. Though, MK has a strange look on his face. A look that says he isn't done yet. No devious intent, but he's not stopping. Then, MK kisses him on the cheek again, and again, and again. He continues to place kisses on Red Son, and Red Son can barely keep his flames at a controllable level. Though, he isn't going to try to stop this. He's enjoying the sudden attention. Though, something isn't sitting right.
"W-wait, MK, what... why? You and I... are you.... do you..."
MK stare at Red Son for a moment, confused at what Red Son is asking. Then, Red Son hears footsteps in the hall. He's startled at first but then recognizes the shadow. But... that isn't possible.
"Okay, so, I got a new shirt. I think that--..."
MK stares at the two, seeing himself and Red Son.
"I knew I missed a clone! Don't worry, I got this!"
The clone and the real MK run around the room, the fake jumping from place to place in a frantic effort to stay alive. But, MK manages to pin him down. The clone struggles, but to no avail. Clone MK bursts into clumps of hair, leaving the real MK victorious.
"Oh, great, now it's everywhere. I'll get a broom and a dustpan. Be right back."
MK grabs the broom and dustpan, quickly cleaning up the mess.
"Okay, I'm back, we can start. Oh, but what happened? My clone was... pretty close to you when I got here."
Red Son quickly realizes how awkward it would be if he told the truth of what happened. So, a white lie is necessary in this case.
"Well, much like the other clones he was... rather cuddly. A bit more than the other clones, but still cuddly."
"And you didn't think that was weird?"
"Well, I did, and I was about to ask you why you were being so cuddly, but then the real you came around the corner and I realized the truth of the situation."
"Hmm... that adds up. Now, let's get this night started!"
MK presses play, and the episode begins. Though, Red Son can't pay attention much currently. He's too preoccupied with the thought of the real MK doing that. Maybe, maybe... the real MK will do that one day. That's a day he'd love to have.
