《One bowl of Spicy Noodles》Chapter 4

Arriving at Sandy's place, Mei can't wait to pet some cats and drink some tea on her day off. She works a few jobs here and there, but nothing concrete. No true schedule to follow. Still, it's her day off and she wants to pet some kitties! Plus, MK and Pigsy are coming over too! MK is gonna train, Pigsy is gonna talk to Sandy about something important, and she is going to chill out and watch MK just to make sure he doesn't knock himself out with the staff. It's gonna be a great day! She knocks on the door and to her surprise, when it opens, she sees Red Son. Of course, the feeling is mutual as Red Son is just as surprised to see her here of all places. Red Son jumps back as her face goes from shock to rage, rivaling that of his own mother.
"What are doing here?"
Red Son doesn't get so much as a word out before Mei punches him in the face, sending him flying towards the wall. Sandy rushes in, stopping Mei from punching him a second time.
"You shouldn't go straight into violence, Mei!"
"I... I kind of deserved that though... All things considered..."
Red Son loses consciousness and Sandy glares at Mei before looking away and sighing. Sandy picks Red Son up and moves him onto the couch.
"Okay, I know Red has done... A lot of bad things."
"You think?! He and his family leveled a gigantic chunk of the city! The death toll is still rising!"
"Yes, yes, but... He wants to change. He's been here a week and, from what I've learned from both him, his mannerisms, and personality, I think... I think he was abused by them. If not physically then verbally, though judging by the scar on his face I don't think words did that. Does that excuse his actions? No. Is he trying to be better? Yes. So, please, give him a chance to be better."

"I..."
Sandy and Mo's eyes plead with her, cracking her resolve to avoid giving him the time of day.
"Fine, but if he hurts anybody I will make him regret it!"
Sandy hugs Mei, knowing that she only wants to make sure everyone is safe.
"Great! I'll make some tea, you just sit down and wait a moment... Oh, and I just put some cookies in, too! So, you really came at the perfect time!"
Sandy goes off into the kitchen. Soon, Pigsy lets himself inside and MK isn't that far behind.
"I'm just saying, I think he might actually change and- oh, hey Mei!"
"MK! Nice to see you! Care to explain why Red Son is here?"
"He wanted to change and- you punched him, didn't you?"
"I didn't expect him here! And why didn't you tell me he was here?!"
"I... Had a feeling you wouldn't take it well..."
MK looks at Red, seeing a bruise forming already. That's a black eye, alright. Though, MK couldn't believe the sheer amount of cats on him. There had to be at least twenty of them.
"Fair point. Anyway, Sandy said something about cookies and I'm gonna check 'em out!"
"Ha! Shame that Tang couldn't be here, right MK?"
MK is too busy staring at Red Son to care for whatever Pigsy just said. He looks... Peaceful... And, if not for the black eye, MK could almost swear he looked adorable. The black eye just concerns him. MK shakes his head and turns around, bumping into Pigsy and making him stumble back a bit.
"Hey, don't fall in love with the redhead yet, kid. We still don't know if we can trust him."
"Pfft, I wasn't- no- come on, you, umm, umm- I wasn't-!"
"Relax, kid, I was just teasing. Now, let's go see what the cookies are lookin' like."
Pigsy walks off, leaving MK with Red Son. He stares for another moment before going towards the kitchen. He'll wake Red Son up for some cookies after he gets him an ice pack for his eye.

Asturian Warbringer - A LitRPG on Earth
Currently releasing 5 chapters a week Luke Kells liked only one thing about himself: his green eyes. He hated getting bullied, hated being poor, hated being an orphan, hated his weakness, hated the government, hated his life. If someone had given him a button to push and kill everyone but him and his granddad, he would've done it without a second thought. Then, one day, after fainting during a beating, he woke up with memories that would change his life. Magic, martial arts, how to craft special artifacts; he knew it all. Anyone would’ve taken that path to glory at once. However, he had to deal with a lot on his plate first. To even begin walking that path, Luke first had to deal with his own psychological issues. Almost two years of brutal bullying that was akin to torture and no support from the school staff of the police had left him with a broken soul. Before even realizing he could be rich or powerful, he had to bring himself out of the mental hellhole he found himself in. Oh, and his memories also told him the Sentinel Tower would change reality in six months to protect the planet from the Demonic Horde. But that wasn’t as important as not making the local bully angry, right? A story about personal growth, overcoming obstacles, and reaching absolute glory at the end of the path. This is a slow-paced, character-centered story. If you want something faster paced, filled with almost immediate and nonstopping action, check out my other novel: Modern Awakening - A cultivation, LitRPG, apocalyptic novel.
