He'd refused her help removing his chest armor, clearly still bitter about the first time she did. She rolled her eyes but conceded. The wound was deep, and gnarly being both a puncture and a slice wound. He sat on the chair, silently letting her examine the injury. She was trying to be careful not to hurt him, but he seemed completely unfazed by the pain.
"How many times must I save you from your own foolishness." he muttered. "Don't blame me! I didn't ask to get raided." she said, "What are you doing here again anyway?" she asked. "I reached the border of the forest in time to see the orcish force approaching. I had intended on warning you. I had a vague hope that you would be intelligent enough to leave." He said casting a sidelong glare on her. "Apparently not." he added. She rolled her eyes. "Well, it wasn't my fault! I did try to hide and wait them out." she said. "Not very well." he said with what she thought sounded like a chuckle.
She finished the stitches, and now was applying a salve and bandage. "Why did you turn back?" she asked hesitantly. "You know why." he snapped. She fell silent for a time. Did she know why? "That should be good for now, I'll need to check it later." she said. He rose to his feet and moved for the door. "Where are you going?" she questioned. "Need I tell you all I do?" he said. "No, but you can go off now!" she said. "I may do what I please! Besides, the bodies need moving." he said. "Really? You're going to move bodies immediately after an injury?" she said. "Has it crippled me!?" he barked, glaring at her. "Then leave me be." he said as he walked out.

Muttering under her breath, she walked out to help him. He casually loaded the orcs onto his shoulder, whereas she had to drag them. Granted, they were a lot lighter than he was to drag, but not quite light enough for her shoulders. He seemed to be amused by her need to drag them, as she could plainly see his smirk as he watched her. She simply glared.
She began wondering what her mother would have said had the known the number of corpses her daughter would drag across a forest. This thought probably amused her more than it should, but it made the job slightly more bearable. It was well into the night before they had finished moving the bodies away from her hut. Granted it was already late when the orcs appeared, but that didn't change how tedious and unpleasant the job was.
They were almost done, not quite soon enough for her liking. She reached down for the last orc, but before she could grab it, he pulled it onto his arm. She glanced up to him, momentarily catching his gaze before he walked away. Once they were finally finished, they reentered the hut and sat silently.
"... So... When will you leave now?" She asked. "I am unsure. Likely tomorrow." he replied. "Please-" she said before she could stop herself. Se paused, earning a raised brow as he urged her to continue. "Please... Dont..." she said, looking anywhere but his face. "Why?" he asked, looking to her in confusion. She wondered how to, in a succinct fashion, explain that she spent the last few weeks thinking about him and wanting him back because, for some strange and stupid reason, her mind wouldn't leave her alone about one damn Uruk-Hai!
She looked up to him. "Don't you know why?.." she said in parody to him. She wasn't sure what he was thinking as he stared at her in apparent confusion, but he finally said, "I shall stay tomorrow." she couldn't help a small sigh of relief. She couldn't understand why she felt this way, all reason told her that she should want him gone as soon as possible, but somehow, she didn't.

He rose to his feet, jogging her out of her thoughts. "You should rest." he said. "So should you." she replied. "And I shall. Now sleep." he said. She rolled her eyes, but conceded, laying back on her cot. She would lose him again, but at least she had a little longer.

I may not be the one whose legends perdures even until today. But one thing I am. I am their teacher, their instructor. I am the one that made them what they became. I am... Who am I? I had many names through the ages, but there was one that stuck to me the most. I am the Maker of Power. But like the ones that I thought. I was also a normal person before everything that happened.
