《Shadow of Light (Uruk-Hai x She-Elf)》Gal

She was growing rapidly more and more bored. Typically, she would be out foraging or hunting, but with her ankle still on the mend, she was stuck. She watched the Uruk come and go carrying out different chores of his own assigning. She'd finished her vambrace and now wore it, covering her scar, and leaving her with nothing to do.

She reached for her brush and began idly combing through her hair. It wasn't particularly tangled but it was there, and it gave her something to organize. She stopped as the Uruk entered the hut, his hands full of leather and metal in a rough simulation of armor. He marched around, grumbling and growling. "What are you doing?" she asked. "I am trying to find a nail." he replied curtly. "A nail?" she questioned. "Yes, a nail!" he barked in annoyance.

"What do you need a nail for?" she pressed. "Well I need to put holes in this somehow." he said, still walking around searching. She rolled her eyes. "Give it to me." She said, holding her hand out. With a huff, he threw it down on the cot beside her, then sat on the chair, his arms crossed. Grabbing her leatherworking kit from under the cot, she looked it over. "Am I letting it out, or tightening it, and where?" she questioned.

He gruffly pointed out the marks he had made, letting her get to work. She calmly put in holes, strung lace, and trimmed edges, glad to finally have something else to do. Her companion, on the other hand, sat with a look like an idle child, his brows furrowed and his arms crossed. "Oh what is your problem now?" she questioned. "I am merely waiting..." he grumbled. "Well you haven't been waiting all that long." she said. "I dislike stagnation..." he said. She scoffed. "How do you think I feel?!" she said.

"I know not what you have been doing." he said. At this, she reached for her brush and threw it at him. He reflexively caught it, sitting up in surprise. "That's what I've been doing." she said. "Give it a try, you could use it." with a glare, he threw it back at her. "Do not mock me." he growled. "Oh I don't know, I bet it would do you some good." she said with a smirk. "Just finish it..." he grumbled.

She did continue, but as she did, she was now honestly wondering how he would look with brushed hair. She doubted it would change much, but at least he would have hair instead of the matted locks he had. She chuckled, knowing how much he would hate it.

Finishing her work, she held it up by what she assumed was the shoulders, but orcish armor was anything but organized. He took it quietly with a calmer expression, which she took as close as she was going to come to appreciation. She took the instant he turned away to reach for his hair with her brush. The instant she made contact with the Uruk, he spun round.

"What are you doing?" he demanded. "Well I was going to attempt to rescue the beast attached to your head." she said. "Leave me be, she-elf." he snapped. "I don't see the problem, I bet you'd catch your hair on less." she reasoned. "I have no wish for your elvish fixations." he said. "Well I have no wish for your orcish obscenities, but I endure them." she retorted. "I shall not be sculpted to your elven preference!" he exclaimed. "It's hardly perfume! Honestly, you're being an infant. Only children complain about getting their hair done." she said.

She waited to see if her statement would give the wanted effect. Seeing his silent but enraged countenance, she knew she'd won. With a growl of annoyance, he sat back down. "Leave me be henceforth..." he muttered. She smiled. "Of course." she said as she began her work. His hair was far beyond anything her brush had ever seen; long, thick, coarse, and disastrous! But luckily the brush was a tool of great craftsmanship. This did not, however, make it a brief chore.

The Uruk sat fidgeting, tapping his fingers against his arm and grumbling impatiently, whereas she began humming to herself, glad to be doing something. She had just about finished her work when she realized that she had a limited chance to do something with his hair. She couldn't do much without him getting angry, but she did take the liberty to put small, subtle braids on either side of his head. It wasn't much, and his hair was mostly loose, but she felt it needed something.

"And all done." she said happily. "About time..." he grumbled. Rising to his feet. His hair had gone from single, decided locks, to a great mane down his back. It was still thick and course, but at least it was orderly. "Satisfied?.." he asked as he turned to her. She smiled smugly, "Very." she said. He glared at her. "Think about it as payback. You've permanently scarred my arm, so the least you can do is deal with a temporary change." she reasoned.

"Now, if we have finished your flight of fancy, I have work to do." he said, "Not too much, nights coming." she said, "This would not be the case, had you left me be." he said, grabbing his armor. "Well on the upside, you look... It's an improvement." she said, he simply turned and walked away. She chuckled. Yup, he hated it.
