《Shadow of Light (Uruk-Hai x She-Elf)》Ash

It had been many a day since she last stepped foot in her home. Murkwood was long behind her, and though she was thankful, she was saddened as well. Mainly in the fact that she wouldn't be likely to see her friends or family again. But she supposed it was better than being stuck as a noblewoman, even as a noble of Murkwood.
So, instead of giving her hand to some prudish noblemen and doing everything her mother told her, she knelt in the grass, bow in hand, arrow in her fingers, and deer in sight. Taking a deep breath, she loosed the arrow, letting it fly. They wouldn't let her hunt back home, not since the rumbles of war began. They were certain that the moment she left the castle, she would be jumped by orcs, and she would be helpless. Helpless. Like hell she was helpless!
She began the long trip back to her hut, dragging the deer along. Ok, maybe she wasn't helpless, but dragging the damn thing over miles would be tiering to anyone, but she needed meat and experience. At least it was a peaceful trip. The forest was gorgeous, not so as her home forest, but she couldn't risk being found and taken back home.
She had very little left to remind her of her childhood. No tapestries, no mementos. Well, almost none. She had one from her close friend when she was young. And the intricate necklace, of silver, and small crystals. She seldom wore frilly garments, particularly now that she spent her time foraging, but she did wear that under her green hunting gown, but that was it.
He was the one thing she really missed. Being a child of high breeding and few words, she didn't have many friends, but he was like a brother. He was the only one that knew about her escape plans and had assisted her in the endeavor. Now in the silence, she missed him more than ever. Correspondingly, while lost in these thoughts, she almost missed that her hut was drawing closer.

Leaving the dear to be processed, she walked inside for a drink. It was warmer there, but just as quiet. She had read all her books and could find no fresh amusement there, the most she could do is wonder what had happened after she left her home, that was at least a little funny. She returned to her work, seeing that night was drawing near, she didn't fancy arguing with a bear over ownership of a deer.
She laid down for the night, surrounded by the deafening silence. Freedom. Bliss. A wonderful life. She sighed. Should she have stayed home? Would that have been better? Was it better to have people she hated bothering her all day than to have no one? She just wanted someone to talk to. Hell, she would have been happy to have a dog. Just something to talk to, something alive.
Something about this life felt like a dream. Strange, and surreal. She loved hunting and being free, but she never talked. She suddenly felt cold, as if a gust of wind blew past, but there was no wind, only her walls. Maybe the morning would be better. She closed her eyes. Maybe...
A shriek rang out across the night, throwing her eyes wide open. She jumped from her cot, grabbing her bow and racing to her door. Stepping out, she listened. There again, the cry rang out. No animal she knew of. All went quiet, but for some strange, low sounds that she couldn't make out. She jumped as an inhuman roar tore the silence. Her heart felt as if it were trying to beat through her ribs. she darted back in, placing her hand on her chest as if to soothe the anxious organ.
She didn't care how good with a bow she was, she had no intention of confronting whatever that was, especially at night! She simply sat, listening as the shrieks continued for hours. All she could hope for was to come no closer to the sounds, or more for the sounds to come no closer to her.

A Titan's Crusade
Erik Thayne spent most of his life being brutally ridiculed and tormented for his weight and physical appearance, among other things. A social pariah and diagnosed with an eating disorder no one has an explanation or treatment for, Erik spent years trying to overcome his issues with his personal image and escape the ridicule and vicious torment of his peers. After years of dedicated effort, and a fresh start in a town away from his childhood and adolescent tormentors, he had finally begun to truly realize what he'd been striving for all along. Only, fate apparently has other plans because in the blink of an eye, Erik found himself snatched from Earth and taken to another universe, another world, where he is offered the chance to be more than he'd ever imagined. Now, he has to fight to restore the Balance between Chaos and Order on a world of swords and magic, in a universe governed by the System's laws, which resemble those of RPGs from Earth. Erik learned to embrace the things about himself that others taught him to hate, using them to reforge his physical identity into something more removed from his old self-loathing. But can he learn to embrace the darkest parts of his mind just as he did the reviled aspects of his body and become who he needs to be to succeed in the task set before him? It might just prove easier to stalk in the dark as a monster than to walk in the light as a man... *This is my first time publishing anything I've written to a public audience. Due to formatting issues, I forwent traditional stat-screens for something a little less problematic, delineating stat screens by separating them from regular text with horizontal lines in a lighter-grey coloration. Let me know if you like them or not. Criticism is entirely welcome, but please don't hate on my work after only reading 1 chapter. This is a writing project I intend to complete but I have committment problems so we'll see how long this goes on. Also, fair warning, as the description implies, the main protagonist is intended to be someone who has been treated cruelly, developed antisocial tendencies, and ultimately has to question his own humanity--or lack thereof. This story is not intended to be brutally dark but I will definitely be trying to follow a darker theme. It is intended to be violent and some scenes later in the story might be...alarming. There will likely also be some light, non-graphic (think more implied with crude jokes and conversation than actual details, there will be no full-blown sex scenes)relationship scenes planned later and if you're opposed to either a bisexual or gay main character, stay away. I haven't yet decided which way he's going to swing but the odds on him being straight are relatively miniscule, and I've always wanted to write a story about a gay man who basically looks like a lumberjack because who doesn't like giving conventional stereo-types the middle finger? This will NOT be a harem story, and I have no intention to focus on romance over action--it's a consequence of character development where I'm concerned, not the be-all-end-all of the story. The cover-art does not, in any way, belong to me. It was an image titled the Druid King (by duskanmarkovic according to the file name) which I found on Google Images. Until I can get something commissioned, this is the best stand-in image I could find.

8 197Absolute Power
A story about a teenager named Aarav trying to find his place in the world, while trying to make it a better place to live. NOTE: Please remember the word 'TRYING'. Guys I have edited the prologue and uploaded it after I uploaded the fourth chapter. Although the story hasn't changed much, I have tried to make it flow smoother. Added a few more details to the life of Aarav and stuff like that. Might wanna take a look at it. P.S. - Guys this is my first story. I am trying to learn English better but since I don't have enough money for books, courses or tutors, so your criticism and support will have to do. This is my first time, so please be gentle. P.P.S. - I selected harem in tags because generally people who like it tend to be more chill. Right now I have a rough sketch till the second volume and there are only two female leads.
8 148Anathema of the Eldritch
The youth of a fool ends shortly with a burst of light and a pressing question. A question that may not influence the quickly ending course of his current life, but one that will bring about great changes in the next. The balance of power within the forest of Eleanor starts to shift, as conflict is brought to its borders. The powers in the wider world are constantly moving, keeping a delicate balance held only by the continuous bloodshed of the enemy. In this world, those that can banish the foreign powers and stop the infighting aren't heralded. They are shunned for the experiments of their pears, banished from their homes for being gifted the 'wrong' talent, and hunted for practicing that which made them outlaws. In this age, the Anathema of the Eldritch shall be made.
