《Hail to the King (RE8 Harem/fanfic)》Chapter 33 - Jill

Middle of the night, Y/n was preparing to head out at the crack of dawn while everyone was asleep. He checked over his supplies as he got ready to take the fight to the nest of the lycans.
Samurai Edge, the elite handgun once utilized by S.T.A.R.S members.
Dagger of Death Flowers, a medieval ornate dagger seeping with countless poisons gathered across Europe.
Sawed off Winchester, a recently acquired lever action .45 rifle strapped to his back.
Woodcutter's axe, a standard yet reliable hatchet found in the guts of the Dimitrescu castle. Y/n straightened his tie and cleared the wrinkles from his shirt as he checked himself in the mirror.
The 'Senator Armstrong' energy is strong with this one.
I never did get a chance to see you outside of the uniform...
Y/n turned to see Jill standing at the door dressed in a lack of protective material.
Gotta say you don't disappoint.
What are you doing? It's like 2am.
I could tell yesterday that you were planning something and your the type to try and shoulder any burden alone.
Doesn't quite answer why you're up.
Because we're all stuck fighting this problem together so we should stick together.
Jill I appreciate it but what im about to do has no guarantee-
I had to fight for my life against the first tyrant and a giant mutant flesh while running the clock before they nuked my city... I'm used to fighting my way through a bad situation.
Well I don't need to put you in a worse situation.
I'm not taking no for an answer Callahan.
Jill grabbed a jacket and started heading for the door, Y/n was left with little choice but to take Jill with him.
The two set out at the crack of dawn, marching through the snow towards the village as they listened to the lycans howling and trotting about the shadows the closer they grew to the source.
Soon enough they were walking between abandoned homes as they watched beasts jump between rooftops, watching and waiting as the one who had slain there previous pack leader walked through unfazed.
Jill on the other hand already had her gun in hand, keeping close to Y/n's back as it seemed no Lycan were brave enough to pounce while he was around.
Kinda why I wanted to go this alone Jill, attracts less attention that way.
Look I owe you for dragging me out of the burning wrecks during that IED-
I know there wasn't an IED Jill... I remember what happened that day, how I really lost all of them... How I first got infected...
Y/n I-
Don't worry about... I mean really in the grand scheme of things this revelation is... Not the worst thing, im not saying im pleased but I've got other things to deal with...
Y/n kept walk as Jill stood there anchored by her guilt, she did manage to get in gear again as they neared the ruins where Miranda told them the nest would be.
Crossing through unkept fields and over an ancient stone bridge where they would find the stronghold, ruins of a fort that had fallen a long time ago but now housed the den. Y/n and Jill cross through the doors and lay the wood beam across the door sealing it shut behind them, sunrise cresting over the broken stone arches let them see the silhouettes of Lycans stalking the intruders.
Stalking isn't the best term, at this point they were making their presence known as they stood on the upper stone floors waiting and watching.

Seems we have an audience.
You seem almost happy about that.
That's because I am.
What exactly was your plan?
Too late to ask now... But make note, I can't protect you from all of them...
I don't need protecting.
Good... Now whose gonna make the first move...
Lycans skulked across the stone ruins, some wielding farm tools while others had claws looking ready to tear them apart; however, these beasts understand fear and what he had shown them before had stuck with them.
Then the first Lycan pounced from the second story ledge, claws out aiming at Y/n but Y/n grabbed the lever-action rifle off his back and shot the beast out of the air.
That was the spark to ignite the inferno, Y/n and Jill stood back to back as Lycans began to swarm inwards. The two expert marksman waste no time firing off round after round. Anytime a Lycan got a little to close for his liking he skipped the trigger and used the rifle stock to bash them back.
Jill had a similar response but it involved either her boot or a knife, the two dropping dog after dog until an unearthly howl caused the Lycans to scatter. Charging across the ruins on all fours with grey hair flowing almost majestically as it came at them with every intention of mauling them.
The wolfman or advanced Lycan, whatever it may be jumped off a rock and came through the air at them. Y/n shoved Jill aside as the wolfman buried its yellow crooked teeth into his shoulder.
The wolfman starts to pull back ripping at flesh but Y/n wraps his arm around its neck stopping any escape. With his right hand he starts punching the wolfman in the side of the head but after multiple blows and no sign of releasing Y/n gouges the eyes.
That's the key though as the jaws unlock and the beast pulls away, Y/n tosses the wolfman down under him. Jill is preoccupied using the .45 to keep the Lycans occupied, overhead a Lycan holding flaming barrel aims at Y/n and the wolfman but Jill pops a perfect headshot.
The Lycan drops the barrel on himself resulting in a blast that consumed it and five other Lycans. With Y/n now in control he starts punching, left, right, left, right, left watching teeth and blood paint the stone floor until the wolfman slipped out from under him making the next right connect with the floor.
The floor cracked, then the crack followed to the wall, and suddenly the floor consumed them both.
Y/N!!
Jill watched as the dark void consumed him.
But for Y/n this wasn't his first free fall and manages to grab roots hanging off the wall. Skin began to rip and tear as he clung to life on that rough bone-like vine.
He watched the wolfman plummet and hit the cavern floor, bouncing off the first ledge and rolling to a stop on the cavern floor unmoving.
Well that makes the whole alpha thing a lot easier...
Y/n? Are you okay?!
Jill! Just stay up there... Better yet get back to the palace.
I can't leave you down there with those freaks!
Yes you can! I can handle myself from here.
Y/n carefully climbed down the root system as he could feel the heat of regeneration as his shoulder healed up and the skin on his hand grew back.
Y/n approached the body of the wolfman, surprisingly the wolfman started to get up growling at Y/n and it seemed the fight wasn't over yet.
It ended when a giant metal spiked ball crushed the wolfman sending viscera and limbs flying. After painting Y/n red with wolf guts he saw who the culprit was.

Oh... You look very similar too... You have a brother don't you?
The brute lifts the his massive spiked club and Y/n watched as tendrils extended from his back.
Had... You had a brother... And you probably hate me...
The reply he got was the brute attempting to smash him but luckily he was able to roll back and pull Samurai Edge out and begin taking shots.
The low caliber of the bullets do nothing but piss the big guy off more as Y/n retreated behind stone pillars. Waiting for his moment he saw it when the brute readied to smash the pillar, Heisenberg's magnetic power rippling in his hand but it was interrupted by Jill shooting the brute in the back.
Jill?! I said I have this!
Is that what you call hiding?
Jill ignored him as she jumped off the wall she was clinging too and onto a stone pillar as the brute threw rocks at her. The brute sweeps the pillar out from under her but she manages to roll out of the fall.
The brute lifts that ball up and swings missing Jill again as she slides below it but unable to avoid his back tendril that slaps her gun away leaving exposed to a hefty back hand.
Jill hits the floor, dazed and injured she can't find her footing as the brute swings again only to have it stop suddenly.
Y/n stands in front of Jill his body riddled with spikes piercing his entire body.
Then he began to push the spike ball back pulling the piercings from his body as Jill watched in shock. The enraged brute attempted to pull back but Y/n overpowered and through big guy back.
Thanks Y/n... I was almost a Jill sandwich.
Remember when I said stay out of this?
Not exactly in those words.
Yeah well so I can focus I need to stay out of this.
Y/n pulled out his hatchet and as the holes through his body began to simmer and heal over. Y/n had gotten used to the pain of having his ripped and beaten at this point, weather that be a blessing or a curse he was ready end this.
The brute lifted the spike ball over head but as he went to swing downwards the weapon froze midair due to the aid of magnetics. His hands slip off the grip and Y/n drops the ball on the brutes head only stunning him but Y/n took the opening to jump on his back.
From there he started hacking, chopping at flesh as chunks began to fall out and not even the tentacles we're spared the ax's edge. The giant began to frenzy thrashing about as he tried to toss the soldier off his back, eventually the frenzied giant was able to toss him off.
Y/n rolled across the floor as the ax stay wedged in the Giants festering neck meat, he took up his large mace again as Y/n stood up and raised his hand behind him.
The giant charged, ready to deal the killing blow as Y/n thor'd Heisenberg's hammer into his grip.
A swift and powerful uppercut was delivered to the Giant as he flew into the ceiling about 30-feet up before coming back down with a shower of rocks.
Y/n approached the barely breathing giant, lifting the giant's chin up with the hammer head, the two lock eyes as that sharp inhuman orange glow had taken over Y/n's eyes.
Look at me... I am the alpha now.
The giant gave a defeated look and looked to the floor as the sounds of lycans howling above echoed into the pit.
Y/n responded. Raising the hammer over head he gave them a guttural roar that silenced the pack, Jill covered her ears as the Lycans peered into the howl then one by one they walked away after bearing witness to the new King.
... So is it over?
Ummm... Yeah... I think...
Great... So how do we get out of here?
Y/n went to reply but came up speechless as they look around the chasm.
I mean the... The big guy here got down here somehow right? Before the hole opened up...
Well unless they built it around him...
Then... Shit... Either way, how are you feeling?
Ears are still ringing and I think he cracked a few of my ribs...
Yeah well maybe next time take into consideration why I said stay back.
Really? your gonna lecture me now? Why?
Besides the fact I had a plan you interrupted... Or that I needed look after you while trying to get thing back on track- I mean look at my shirt!
He points to the holes in his nice shirt now stained with blood and clay.
My flesh regenerates not my wardrobe Jill!
So your upset because I got in your way? Then why let me come along anyways?
Because I trust your company to be professional and skillful yet I only saw half of that.
Well im not gonna apologize for wanting to back you up, im tired of watching you handle all of this like it's only your problem Y/n...
This isn't about my plan is it?... This is personal...
What?!
Jill... Do you feel guilty for... This?
He says gesturing to his body, more so gesturing to his infection sorta speak.
It's not like that-
Okay, then just say it's not your fault.
What do you mean?
I want to hear you say it's not your fault.
Please stop...
Look me in the eye and say it's not your fault...
Jill looks away unable to speak, now he could see the tears in her eyes wanting to break free.
You were supposed to have a future after what happened... We saw no active B-strain in your system... The agents said any inactive strain would die out after a week or so...
Agents?... Look Jill...
Y/n walked over to her and sat in front of her, he knelt over a little to meet her eyes.
I remember... I remember what happened with the umbrella convoy, the coup, the tongue beasts... Burke...
Jill seemed to shut down as she processed this information, she suddenly woke up when Y/n booped her nose.
Jill im not mad... I'm here, I'm alive-
Alive? Look at this... You were impaled by a hundred spikes and-
We can't change our past... But if you wanna see a better future for me you can start by telling me the truth...
I guess that's fair... After you got us to the hospital the BSAA stepped in quarantine us... I was cleared but they found B-strain in your system but it was inactive and believed to be dead in a week... They didn't think the virus could have a hibernation state but-
So wait the BSAA knew about me years before this?
It was the BSAA that organized the operation.... But it was me who organized the cover story... To lie to you after losing everything...
Right...
Y/n let that sink in for a moment before taking Jill's hand and looking her dead in the eye.
I forgive you... But I can't trust you...
Y/n stood up and shook his head as he searched the room for an exit, Jill was stunned for a moment but what could she expect after a truth bomb like that.
There's a stairway here... But it looks like it goes deeper into the catacombs rather then up and out... Come on...
Y/n started walking, Jill decided to leave with him rather then stay behind with the slowly recovering giant.
The two set off through torch lit stone tunnels, at one point they come across a wooden wall that divides them from the nest on the other side, a split in woods lets the two observe the massive horde feast on animals and victims they've gathered over the past weeks.
The tunnels stretch out for what feels like miles but the true suffering was the silence between the two of them.
Do you know if this tunnel even leads to an exit?
Nope but it's the only tunnel going forwards unless we hike back... Plus I see a door up ahead.
True to that they find a wooden door but with no handle like it was built without one; however, they did find a chain hanging from the ceiling. Y/n pulls it and the wood door begins to lower letting in a cold wind.
Stepping into a graveyard they find the entrance came from a mausoleum built into the cliff face outside of Donna's mansion.
