Katsu leapt forth, and slammed his hands onto the ground, creating a sheet of green chakra. He raised it up, using his hands to manipulate it high into the air. It stretched down 10 feet, and spread five feet across, protecting those under those underneath him. Ryuu and Miyuki stepped forward and created the same hand sign, “” Wind gust forward, above everyone’s heads. It stretched ten feet, forming of rapid, spiralling wind shields. Tadashi followed their lead, “” Hurling a small ball of fire into the sky.

Many other Haurutsuki’s used similar ways to shield themselves from the oncoming kunai. When Tadashi’s ball of fire made contact, it exploded! Causing a chain reaction of explosions, all across the sky. Everyone got down or held to their shielding Jutsu, bracing for impact. The explosions shook the Earth. Those that landed on Miyuki and Ryuu’s Wind technique, reflected back at the other kunai, creating more explosions above. When the explosions finally died down, everything went quiet. “Hold your ground! This is only the beginning!” Tadashi yelled out. Everyone, including the trio, released their Jutsu and waited.

The sound of shooting kunai erupted again, and everyone gasped to see a second wave approaching. “Sh-SHIELD!” Miyuki stuttered, and with that, they diploid the same tactic.

This time, however, not everyone had the chakra reserves needed to maintain it. Some made it through the gaps between the shields, and exploded next to those trying to maintain it. Katsu stayed strong as the tags exploded on his rectangular sheet, fuelling it with more chakra to protect everyone. Screams from those injured erupted, and those holding their shields cursed in frustration, not being able to reach everyone. When the explosions subsided this time, people began to panic. “We’re all going to die!”, “The Mizukage is coming for us!”, “We’re next! Our Clan is next!” Tadashi had enough, “CALM DOWN! We are not gonna die! Now head for the base of the mountain. This is a Level 1 Evacuation EMERGENCY!!!”

Everyone gasped, and with that, they ran to their designated areas. The evacuation drill had been taught to every Haurutsuki, and they knew what to do.

The trio ran up to each other, “Ryuu, help dad evacuate the Haurutsuki civilians, without putting out unnecessary fires. Katsu, you know your part?” He nodded, and made a circle with his hands. Many orbs formed in his arms, all at once. He immediately threw them into the air, allowing them to float around. “Be safe you two. I’ll see you on the other side.” Ryuu said in seriousness. His siblings nodded, and after nodding in return, Ryuu ran off.

Katsu then gave Miyuki a separate orb. She took a breath and began speaking into it, “Attention Haurutsuki Island. This is Miyuki Haurutsuki on behalf of Lord Tadashi. We are under heavy attack. Please evacuate the island immediately. This is a Level 1 Emergency Evacuation. This is not a drill. I repeat.” She lowered the orb from her mouth as Katsu said, “Well done. It’ll repeat through my Ninjutsu Orbs all over the island. I can’t prevent the enemy from hearing it though.” Miyuki turned and flung the orb up. He made a hand sign to his chest, “Signing on.” Her message began announcing from each orb across the island. It was like a synchronized speaker.

“That’s fine. Will you help me battle on the frontlines and protect the others heading down the mountain?” She asked knowingly. He gave a faint smile, and nodded, “Of course.” With that, the two of them ran off, passed the injured their mother was helping, and straight into the lion’s den. No matter what, they had to keep moving. They joined the groups of civilians racing down the mountain, and Katsu surrounded them with orbs. They ran alongside each other. And on their way down, the Hidden Mist troops attacked.

They popped up from puddles and rocks, ambushing the Haurutsuki civilians and Rakurai Forces. Those who came in contact with Katsu’s orbs exploded. Miyuki flipped into the air to avoid an emerging bladed Shinobi. Going over his shoulder, she twisted her body and moved to stick a needle in his neck. It killed him in seconds. “Tch... Everyone, keep going! We need to get to the lake!” With that, they frantically continued. They had to shut their eyes and move on, as loved ones fell victim to quick blades or a Water Prison Jutsu. Katsu fired green orbs from his fingers like a gun. It pierced through distant enemies like a thrusted dagger, killing them one by one. She then threw needles in front of Katsu, saving him from running into a trap. He turned back to her, “Thanks.” He gasped out in relief. “Use your Sensory Skills and locate the enemy. We can’t save them like this.” She anxiously replied.

Screams came from every direction. Haurutsuki people stepped on a puddle, triggering the Shinobi hiding inside it, and got caught in a Water Prison Jutsu. With them trapped inside, the Hidden Mist ninja would then stabbed them, turning the Water Prison into the Bloody Prison. She shut her eyes in regret. It kept happening over and over again. “Miyuki.” Katsu said in seriousness. She raised her head, “We’ll make it out of this. I know it!” Her face turned into a small cry of thanks. Katsu’s eyes abruptly went green, and he could sense out the mountain. ‘Whoa… What is this feeling?’ He thought as chakra surged within him.

“Katsu, watch out!” She exclaimed, pushing him to the ground with her, and dodging a thrown blade. “Thanks again.” He said. “No problem. We’ll protect our Clan. And then the world... Together.” Just then, her eyes sparked purple.

“Katsu your eyes.” She gasped out. “Yours too.” He said in surprise. She put a hand to it, “Really?” He stared down at his hands, making fists, “I can see myself surging with chakra.” He looked up at her, as they laid on the ground. He could see her chakra network lighting up in purple, “So are you!” He realised. “No time to admire it. We need to get moving.” She replied, getting up and helping him to his feet.

They looked at their surroundings, “If we don’t figure out a way to take them out now. There won’t be anyone left to protect when the other fighters arrive.” She explained. “Wait Sis, I have an idea.” He said, taking her hand at his side. “Katsu, what are you-” She stopped herself, feeling her power surge increase exponentially! “I’m lending you my strength. Use it to sense the enemy and shoot your new technique at them.” He suggested. “What? I don’t have that kind of accuracy and power. I might end up killing even you!” She stressed. “You won’t. Trust me. Just sense it through me. I can see everything so clearly now...”

She stared at his green lightning eyes in doubt, and he stared back in back at her in determination. She averted her gaze, “Okay. I trust you, Katsu.” He nodded, and with that, she took a heavy exhale and closed her eyes.

She couldn’t believe it. She could see exactly what Katsu was. It was as clear as day! The blue chakra belonged to the enemy, and the green belonging to the Haurutsuki. “Got it?” He asked, holding her hand with closed eyes too. She snapped her eyes open, “Got it!” She let go of Katsu and jumped up. He kept his link to her telepathically. With her hand signs in place, she spread out her arms, “!” Thousands of purple-lightning-made needles shot out from in front of her. She narrowed her eyes, and the needles split off in different directions at her Will. The Haurutsuki people watched as the needles of bright purple flashed passed them, and stabbed into the enemies they faced. They took it as a sign to counter attack. Katsu and Miyuki’s strange eye colour faded away, and she fell back into Katsu’s arms. She groaned, “How are you doing?” He asked. Her eyes shot open, getting out of his arms, “Fine. Let’s get these people to the lake.” She answered. “Right!” He nodded. They then separated and began ushering people to keep moving forward. When the lake finally came into view, relief wash over her. But suddenly…

A whirl of black and red appearing before her, and Miyuki came to a stop. “I told you, and now it’s too late.” Her eyes widened, “That voice…” She realised. The swirling wind currents turned into a figure wearing a red and black cloak. A man with short hair and an orange mask revealed himself. “You…” She gasped out. “I’ll give you one last chance. Join me. And I will save you and your brothers from the Mizukage.” He smoothly offered. She narrowed her eyes, “If you think I’d choose you over protecting my Clan, then you're insane.” The cloaked man sighed, “To think… Together, you and I could've saved Rin.” He bitterly replied. She couldn't help but scoff in disbelief, “What would you care?? You said it yourself, she’s dead!” The masked man sneered from the sky, “You think I don’t care? Guess again.” The masked man raised his hand to the orange swirl covering his face and slowly, he lifted it up. Her eyes gradually widened. “I am the only one who could possibly care about saving Rin!” The revealed man glared. “O-oh… Obito!??” She gasped out. She was completely shocked! “It’s Madara Uchiha now.” Obito, half his face seeming crushed, the other staring down at her.

“What happened to you? I thought you were…” She trailed off, remembering how he was the one who said he had been crushed, trying to save Rin. “What happened to me? I awoke to my full reality. The world we live in is cruel and dark. But I gave you a chance to see it for yourself and free everyone from this pain we call our existence.” She shook her head, “Obito, this isn’t like you.”

“The Obito you know is gone. So is the person you used to be. Or have you forgotten… You watched the person you loved die in your arms too.” Her eyes gradually widened as Obito continued, “I can bring him back, along with Rin. All I ask is that you help me bring this world to its knees.”

She slowly shook her head, taking a few steps back, “I… I can’t do that. I promised him I would…” She halted, lowering her head and clutching her fists. She had to bite down on the urge to cry. Quickly, however, she composed herself. She whipped her head up to the levitating man, “Obito, this isn’t you. I know, because I cared about you the same way you did Rin. If I knew you’d turn out like this then…” She bit her lip in regret, her most vunerable words almost escaping her. “Then what? You’d rather I’d be dead?” He sneered. She then took in a sharp breath and walked right up to him. She stretched her hand out to his nearing full face of features, “Obito, please. Let me help you. Maybe I could-” He slapped her hand away from his bruised face, and grabbed her wrist. She gasped. He leaned closer, glaring deep into her brown eyes. His Sharingan and onyx eye, shining. “If you cared about me the same way Rin did, you wouldn’t care how I turned out. You would’ve stuck with me no matter what the cost.”

“Obito…” Was all she could manage. She was fixated with his sneering gaze. He then slid his mask back on. With took thr hand he had on her wrist, and threw her to the ground. She landed in a puddle, and abruptly, she found herself in a Water Prison. “I got you now.” The Shinobi taunted. She grunted, desperately trying to move, but to no avail. “Obito…” She grunted out. “It was I who ordered the hit on your Clan. I’ve been manipulating the Mizukage with my Sharingan all this time.” Her face washed over in shock! The Hidden Mist Shinobi seemed under Obito's Genjutsu control as well. “I thought after being betrayed, I’d make you understand. But you’re just like Kakashi. Pathetic.” All she could do was stare at him with widened eyes.

“Finish her off. I’ll be back for the remains shortly.” The masked man instructed. “Right!” The Shinobi holding her in the Water Prison replied, and Miyuki watched as Obito began to float back, further ascending into the skies. “Wait! Obito!” She panicked. “You will all die. And then no one can save you… From me.” With that, and a twirl around his mask, Obito disappeared into his Sharingan, and vanished. She gasped, watching in terror as the Shinobi raised his blade and prepared to drown her in her own blood. “GET YOUR HANDS OFF MY SISTER!”

Hee eyes shot even wider. She watched as awhite light flashed between her and the Shinobi. A boy appear from it, landing on top of the Water Prison. “R-Ryuu…” She grunted out. He stared fiercely at his opponent, readied with his katana, “What the-” Ryuu burst out in rage, “No one messes with my sister!” He pushed off the Water Prison, and plunged his blade straight into the Shinobi’s chest. “-GAH!” He screeched, releasing the Water Jutsu, as he became electrocuted by Ryuu’s White Lightning Blade. Miyuki fell, drenched in water. She looked to her brother in shock. “Ryuu?” He whipped his head, and she was taken aback at seeing his eyes glow. The blue-white light faded, and he collapsed to his side on the ground.

She gaspedz and stumbled over to him. He was covered in wounds and cuts from former battles. “Ryuu, let me heal you.” She said, before closing her eyes and making the water that still covered her, glow in baby blue. She then opened her eyes and stretched her hands over Ryuu. The water crept off the surface of her body and onto his, before absorbing into his skin and healing him. His eyes fluttered open, and then he sprang up to life, “Miyuki! Dad, and the others are battling the main forces on top of the mountain. He ordered me and a few of the younger Rakurai to help aid the escape.”

She sat on her knees, “What? What about them?” Ryuu shook his head, “He said they’ll be fine. But if the worst happens, we need to survive, and guide everyone to safety while they keep them distracted.” He anxiously explained. Miyuki processed it for a second, and then got up, “Alright, where are the others?” She asked. “They’re on their way. I’m not sure how I got so far ahead of everyone.” He said, sheepishly rubbing the back of his head. “Okay. Let’s get to the lake and prepare for the final battle.” She replied. “Right!” He nodded, and was about to run, when she grabbed his arm, “Wait!” She called back. “What is it, Big Sister?” He curiously inquired. She wanted to tell him everything that happened between her and Obito. But where to begin? “Uhm… Nevermind. It can wait.” She finally answered. “Well, okay then. Let’s get moving.” Miyuki nodded, and together, they ran down to the lake.

By the time they finally reached it, the Haurutsuki numbers went from hundreds to tens. Miyuki anxiously looked around, when Katsu spotted her, and the pair hugged, “Thank goodness, you both made it.” Katsu said, spotting Ryuu heading towards them. She let go, “Is this really everybody?” He shrugged, “Afraid so.” Ryuu leapt into hugging Katsu. As they had their little reunion, all the Haurutsuki people turned to Miyuki. “What do we do now, Princess?” A woman asked in slight concern. She opened her mouth to answer, but she couldn’t find the words. Ryuu gently took her shoulder, “Big Sis?” He asked in slight concern. “Ryuu, I can’t do this. You take over.” She said, covering her eyes with her hand, and trying to hold herself together. Her emotions were setting in now. They had lost so many. With no way of knowing if the rest of her family and friends will make it. “Alright… You did good, Miyuki.” He assured her. She nodded without lifting her eyes, and Katsu took her in his arms again.

Ryuu marched up to face everyone as they stood on the lake’s water, “Alright, everyone. Listen closely... In a few minutes, Hidden Mist Shinobi are going to be charging down that mountain for the final assault. It was our job to make it this far, and we are going to make it further! On my mark, we will thicken the mist and escape to the underground caves. Understand??” Ryuu demanded. “!” They all chanted. “Good! Then stand tall! This will be our final battle!” He ordered. With that, everyone hesitantly turned to face the edge of lake. They stood in the sparse fog, nervously waiting in the tense silence. Suddenly, like roaring thunder, ninja charged down the mountain, screaming their battle cries of war. “Get ready!” Ryuu warned, lifting his katana high. Miyuki nervously stood in Katsu’s arms. As the first line of Shinobi reached the base of the mountain, Ryuu slashed down his sword, “Now!”

All the Haurutsuki Shinobi lifted their hands skyward, and performed the Hidden Mist Technique. It thickened the mist ten-fold! The Hidden Mist Shinobi, led by Ao, charged through the mist fearlessly. Running onto the water, they sliced through the shady silhouettes they were confronted with. They slashed, and threw at them, thinning out the mist with each harsh attack. When it finally started to clear, and the Haurutsuki people they were hacking at, became visible, Ao felt as their blood splattered on his clothing. Only he realised, it wasn’t blood. “What the… A Water Clone!??” He looked around. Other Shinobi were facing the same dilemma. Be it Wind, Earth, Fire, or Lightning, everyone they attacked... Were clones.

At the top of the mountain, a similar smokescreen occurred. Tadashi and his troops were gone. They had used the mist to give them the time they needed to create clones. Then, they disappeared with electricity in the air, drifting towards the lake.

At the lake, using the mist as cover, everyone dove into the water and swam underneath the mountain towards an underwater cave. A Genjutsu was placed, creating the illusion that you'd be swimming into a rock wall. But, in reality it was the entrance to the cave. When everyone surfaced from the water and climbed up the cave, they found Tadashi and his troops already there... Or what was left of them. “Dad!” Miyuki realised, and the soaking wet trio hurried over to him. They realised he was hunched over and crying, while Osamu was patting his back. “D-dad?” She hesitantly asked. “Where’s mum?” Ryuu innocently inquired. “And Kaiyo-Sensei... Little Harumi isn’t here too.” Katsu added as he looked around. Their father burst out crying. They flinched, cringing their toes.

“Osamu?” Miyuki inquired, looking up at him. He shook his head, “I’m so sorry my Lords, and Lady.” He was on the verge of crying himself. Their eyes gradually widened. “THEY’RE GONE! They’re all gone! Oh why, why is she gone? !!!” Their father cried out before bursting into painful whale. His cries echoed through the caves, filling everyone’s heart with an overwhelming, unescapable loss. Miyuki dropped to her knees. Katsu shakily followed, and Ryuu? He just stood there, staring at their aching father and feeling stunned, “Mom.”
