《Living Dead (iZombie: Livwell)》Prologue

I heard a scream to my right and headed towards it immediately. The boat was full of medical students, but I was probably the only one sober enough to actually know what to do if somebody got injured.

"Hey? Are you okay?" I asked. I saw a girl convulsing on the deck, a young man kneeling next to her. Before I could tell him to get away and give her some space, she reached up and grabbed his head between her hands. I watched as she dug her nails into his scalp and began to drag away the skin. Suddenly she had an empty bottle in her hand - a heavy whisky one by the looks of it - and she cracked it over his head.

It was only when she ripped open his skull and began shovelling his brain into her mouth that I thought to get the hell away from there.

In the meantime, the rest of the boat had exploded into screams and animalistic growls, accompanied by the thumping beat of the music still playing, building up to a beat drop. Everywhere around me, I saw people who were no longer people, tearing each other apart.

I ran to the edge of the boat. I could still see the lights of the harbour. It couldn't be too far, could it?

As I flung myself into the icy water, I felt a hand clawing at my ankle. I screamed as I hit the water, my mouth filling up with salt water. I choked, kicking to stay afloat. Once my throat stopped burning, I noticed another burning on my ankle. A scratch.
