As John ran home Melissa was still recovering in the hospital. It was a tough time but John and Ruby still had to make it through what was happening. Because they know that Melissa is going through a harder time than both of them.
John ran home. He was soaking wet. He ran inside his house leaving nothing but muddy footprints everywhere. He threw his coat on the floor and ran for his bedroom.
He heard a dragons voice. "John. Why are you rushing? When Melissa wakes up that is when you should start to rush." John looked around the room hoping to see that blue light somewhere. But nothing was there. It was still dark sine John didn't turn the lights on. So he just sat in the darkness doing nothing waiting until something would happen. He walked slowly to his bed and sat down.
A few days later. Melissa woke up but she still couldn't move. She was paralyzed unfortunately. John and Ruby visited almost everyday just to check up. The word was spread around the whole town and the word got out to her family. Due to having not enough money to visit Melissa her family asked John and Ruby to look after her. And so they did.
Time went by. Melissa grew stronger and she was healed. It was her last day in the hospital and then she would be free the next day. John and Ruby were really happy about the fact that Melissa was feeling much more better and that she was going to be let out soon.
They where both sitting in Melissa's living room as they both were cleaning t up for Melissa's return." Hey, Ruby?" John looked over to Ruby. Ruby looked up from the table as dust particles flew off. "Hm? What is up?" Ruby walked over to John and knelt down next him. John looked over to Ruby. "When Melissa comes back tomorrow..." John stop up and picked up the piece of cloth he was using to wipe the floor. "Well I don't think she will act the same." Ruby looked shocked and stood up too. "Why do you think that? I am sure she would be fine, the only difference is that she would probably act more cautious than ever." John looked over to Ruby and smiled "Yeah. Well we should probably finish up clea-"

Knock knock knock. John and Ruby looked at each other in shock. Ruby walked over to the door. "Open up! It is me!!!" a voice shouted. Ruby was shocked. She slammed the door open to see... "MELISSA?!" Ruby shouted. There in front of Ruby was Melissa, who was bandaged up, John over heard the commotion and ran over. "RUBY?! Are you ok?" John shouted as he over to Ruby.
Melissa looked inside and asked "Sooooo? Can i enter my home?" John and Ruby looked at each other in shock and quickly moved out of the way to let her in. Melissa looked around in shock seeing how clean her home was. "WOAH! You guys didn't have to do this! You guys should rest for now and I think you guys should go home too." Melissa said as she looked around the room. Ruby and John looked in shock and denied the fact that they had to go home. But Melissa insisted and so they walked home together.
"It has been a while, hasn't it?" Melissa walked over to her bedroom door to see a little note and her locket on her bed. "Huh? What is this?" Melissa picked up the note and started to read it.
To Melissa!
I hope you have had a quick recovery! Me and Ruby have started to clean up for you so when you return it won't be that hard. I found your locket. Melissa when is it time to find shiro? You might be asking how I know. I know because shiro visited me on the night you were taken to the hospital. It has been a few months so I do not know if you remember. You can look for Shiro by yourself but Shiro has asked me to look after you as you make your journey. Do not push yourself though! I am sure Shiro would want you to be ready first.

Having subdued its surrounding enemies, the former Sulic Empire is faced with unrest brewing from within. Society is torn in two. The reigning mentalists constantly persecute the subjugated elementals under the pretence of curbing the explosive potential of their destructive powers. Meanwhile, schemes and political interests clash as different groups within the Governance military elite vie for control. And in the shadows, Sulic’s old enemies have been lying in wait a long time, looking for the first sign of weakness to make their move. Against this backdrop, two ordinary individuals fight to maintain stability from opposing sides: a low ranking telepathic recruit with nothing to his name but good intentions, and an unregistered elemental contractor with a murky past. Can they reconcile their differences and help steer Sulic away from tearing itself apart? Windwalker explores themes of societal struggle and self-discovery. Book One: Rising Wind Kal has trained to be a soldier his entire life. His days are simple, and his duties clear: enforce the rules, upkeep the peace, and most important — police the elementals. If they step out of line, the Governance system corrects it. But when Kal encounters a young boy whom he suspects might be an illegal earthborn, he can’t bring himself to report him. Despite his training and the advice of friends, he decides to help him onto what he believes is the right path. This choice lands him in more trouble than he bargained for, and he soon discovers that the veneer the Governance is built upon an ugly and crumbling foundation.
