《Peridot x Human!Reader》Chapter 1 - Picnics and Getting Stuck

You were bored watching TV at your home when you heard a knock at your door. Being that you were the only one home at the time, you sighed heavily from being interrupted from your show. You got up and stretched a bit, then walked over to the door. When you opened it, you were slightly surprised to see your friend Steven.
"Oh, hey there Steven. What are you up to?" You smiled to him. He was breathing heavily and smiling widely.
"Connie and I found a spot on the beach to have a picnic at, and we wanted to ask you to join us. Do you wanna come?" He was excited, to say the least. You always enjoyed spending time with Connie and Steven, so you decided to join them.
"Yeah, sure! I have nothing better to do today. Where's Connie?" You questioned. "Oh, Connie's waiting for us at the spot. She's getting everything out and set up! come on, I'll show you where it is!" He waved you along as he turned on his heels to lead the way. "Okay, hold on speedy!" You chuckled at his enthusiasm and quickly grabbed your beanie hat and slipped it over your messy hair.
When you and Steven met up with Connie, you waved at her and smiled brightly. "Hi Connie!"
"Oh! Hello, (N)! You decided to join us?" She guessed correctly. "Yeah, it's a nice day and I had nothing else to do, and it sounded fun." You smiled at her. "How have you been?"
As the three of you sat down to enjoy sandwiches, making small talk and laughing at each others jokes, you were unknowingly having an unwelcome visitor back at your home.
Peridot was frustrated. As she seethed at the idea of being stuck on Earth, she sifted through your belongings. Pulling things out of drawers, opening up cabinets, and looking under beds to find something that wasn't there.
"There must be something that this cruddy planet can be of use to around here!" Screaming at a crushing tone. Huffing away, Peridot was looking for something to fix the warp pads, or even better yet, something to contact Homeworld from. Even though she highly doubted she would find anything, she was at her wits end and would try anything about now. "If only Yellow Diamond would answer me in the first place, I wouldn't be stuck here!" She hissed to herself as she kneeled under your bed and crawled halfway in. "Stupid Earth! Stupid human living quarters! Stupid- OW!" She knocked her head as she unsuccessfully tried to worm her way out from under the bed. She had managed to get her hair tangled in the springs under your mattress and became stuck.

"Stupid! Stupid! Stupid.." She suddenly heard a noise and became quiet. It was you, coming from your front door and saying your goodbyes to Steven and Connie, thanking them for the wonderful picnic.
Peridot swiftly tried to tug her way out of the tangled mess, but to no avail. "Oh crud! I've gotta get out of here!" She whispered to herself. "This must of been some sort of human trap!"
As she tugged on her hair, only making the matters worse, You walked through your home unaware of the green being in your room. You silently walked to your room and headed to your computer. Before you could make it two steps through the door, though, you had seen Peridot.
"Whoa, whoa! Who are you!? What are you doing in my room!? Better question, under my bed?!" Before you could ask all the questions in your head swimming around, Peridot yelped out of fear and pain. Pain, because her hair was still stuck.
"Wait! Stop! Don't attack! I-I- OW!" Once again, hitting her head. She couldn't turn around to use her weapon to protect herself, and seemingly was vulnerable.
As startled as you might have been, you realized what had happened and that she was stuck. "I-If I help you out will you promise not to hurt me?" You asked in a shaking voice.
"Yes, yes, just get this cruddy thing off me, human!" She yelped. As you kneeled down and got face level with her, you seen her face for the first time. She seemed scared, like a animal that didn't have a clue about what was going on. She also had the expression of anger and pain. The pain was understandable. On more than one occasion, you have had this happen to you before.
"Just..Hold still a second, okay? It might hurt a little bit but.." Before you could finish your sentence, You had gotten her hair out of the springs. She fell off balance a bit, but quickly had gotten back onto her one foot and balanced herself on the other leg, missing one robotic foot.
"Ha! You clod! Now I have the upper hand!" Smiling once again, with her cannon arm ready and aimed at you.

You fell back in shock and fear, putting one arm in front of you to shield yourself from you didn't know what, but you knew it would hurt if it hit. "W-Wait! what are you doing!? you said you wouldn't hurt me!" You protested. "Don't you think if i was going to hurt you first, I would have done it while you were stuck?"
This made Peridot pause and think for a moment, lowering her arm, deeming a quizzical look on her face. "Alright then, why did you have this trap in the first place? Hmm?" She asked. "That's not a trap, it's just my bed. I should be asking YOU, why you're in my home, my room at that!" You pointed out. This was all so confusing to you.
Peridot averted her eyes and blushed slightly. "That's none of your concern."
You shouted back, "It's breaking and entering. That's plenty of my business! Just who are you, anyway?" questioning her.
Her eyes seemed to become a bit more concerned, understanding a bit more. "I'm called Peridot. I was simply looking for a way to contact my authorities, alright? I'll be taking my leave." As she lowered her weapon completely, She pushed past you through your room door, shoving you aside as you had just gotten yourself off of the floor. "Hey!" You called after her.
When you got yourself back up, again, you hurried after her, finding her in your living room. She seemed to stop and turn her head around slightly. "What do you want? Didn't you want me to leave? That's what I'm doing."
You paused for a minute, thinking over what to say back. "Well.. I didn't really say that, but.." You lowered your gaze. "You needed to contact someone, right? If you wanted to use the phone, it's over there." You pointed to the wall where the phone hung. You walked over to it and held your finger slightly above the keys. " Do you know the number?"
Peridot was obviously confused. "The... number?"
"Guess not.." you said to yourself silently as you hung the phone back up. A thought then came to you. "Are you lost or something? I've never seen you around Beach City before." You stated calmly. You had a nagging feeling at yourself that you wanted to talk more with Peridot.
"Why do you care? Aren't you with the Crystal Gems?" She questioned. She was quite confused about the fact you were not trying to capture or attack her by now.
"The who? You mean Stevens friends? No... well I mean, Stevens my friend, but I don't know much about his friends."
Peridot then started to understand that you were clueless about what the Crystal Gems were at this point, and what Peridot was actually doing on Earth. "I see..." She simply put. She then continued out your door and started walking off into the streets.
You walked after her, once again, and watched her for a moment. It was getting dark already. You called after her once more. "Wait!"
She stopped for a moment and turned around, slightly annoyed by your persistence. "What?"
You looked at her silently at first, then stated, "Will I... Can we meet again another time?" You asked her as your hands gripped the smooth door frame.
She paused for a moment, mulling over the proposition. She then answered. "Maybe." After that, She turned around once more and walked off between the bushes that separated houses.
