《Fawn In The Dawn | Peeta Mellark》two

Jackson and I stood near the window in my home gifted by the capitol. It was dark, probably midnight, and Jackson peered down at me through the moonlight. I held the cup of coffee in my hand, as he watched carefully.

"Is there anything more I can do for you, Arizona? I feel like me just staying here isn't enough. You don't seem to be getting any better." He asked, kindly, trying to make it known he was trying his hardest.

"It's not your job, Jack. I'm thankful for everything you've done for me, but please, your mental health is important too. And I don't want to put anymore stress on you." I told him, finally looking up.

"You're not stressing me out, Ari. You never have. I'm here for you, always, and I want you to know that I'd do anything for you." He reached forward, grasping onto my hand.

"You're a good friend, Jack." I muttered, with a small smile.

"Wake up!" A voice demanded, as my eyes shot open to a cold sensation taking over. I looked down at myself, drenched in water and groaned.

I glanced over at Peeta who was watching carefully, as I attempted to adjust myself. The woman above me, took a handful of my hair in her hand and began tugging, pulling me on the floor behind her. She yanked me to my feet and slapped two wrist guards over my wrists, to make sure I wouldn't try anything, and led me out of the cell. I could hear Peeta in the distance yelling, but I couldn't comprehend what was said. We then walked down a slim hallway and through another door toward the left.

"Wait here." She demanded, walking through a door ahead. I glanced around at the hall I was in. Guards walked by but none paid any attention to me. It was like I didn't exsist up until they wanted to torture me.

The all white room was nearly blinding. Everything had to be white in the Capitol. It was a symbolic resemblance to purity. But what the hell was so pure about murdering and torturing children? Sadistic fucks.

"Arizona?" A voice startled me and I jumped, turning to see the last person I ever expected to see in here.

"Jesus, Jack?" I jumped up, attempting to wrap my arms around his neck, but restricted due to the constraints. "It's such a relief to see you." I sighed into him, stepping back down to my feet. "You're a peacekeeper now?" I was taken back, at the realization of his uniform. How could he become something that inflicts pain on others? He knew how I hated the Capitol and I thought he did too.

"Are you okay?" He avoided the question, knowing I'd probably flip out on him.

"Oh, I dont know. Your boss seemed to take a liking to daily torturing and starving his subjects, you tell me." I snapped, rolling my eyes. "You're so thick!" I now insulted him.

"A, look, I have an idea-"

"No, you look," I cut him off, not paying any attention to what he was going to say. "You're no friend of mine." I shook my head, upset with the fact that he was one of them now.

"A, let me talk, please! I have an idea-"

"I don't have anything more to hear or say to you." I snapped, too tired and drained to entertain this conversation.

"Come." A voice shouted at me, as Jackson sulked backward, trying not to look too suspicious, and I turned to see the woman, Alice waiting, holding the door open. I turned, and walked in. A bright light beamed on and I squinted, trying to adjust my vision the best I could.

"Hello, Arizona." A voice began over the loudspeaker. And I knew exactly who it was.
