《The Untold Truth (Kakashi's Little Brother) *COMPLETED*》Chapter 25: Books Over War
Advertisement
It has been a week since I had left the Akatsuki base. But during the time that I have left, a war had broken out. I wasn't quite sure if I was happy about it or not. After what I heard the story of my older brother, I wasn't sure of how I should feel.
I mean I was happy that the Leaf would get what it deserved, but then there were those who are innocent and my brother sacrificed his life to protect the Leaf, so I should do the same right?
"Sasuke?"
I felt a nudge on my shoulder and I looked around as if I was snapped out of my trance. Team Hebi was around me, along with the past Hokage's.
"Sasuke, the war is happening now." Orochimaru said. "What is your answer?"
I took a deep breath in as the image of my brother entered my mind. I have to do this for him..
"I'm going to the battlefield!" I exclaimed. "I won-"
"I thought I felt abnormal chakra levels.." a voice interrupted.
We all looked to where the voice came from and there was that blue haired Akatsuki member. I immediately got into a fighting stance as I eyed him carefully. Even though he aided us in our time of need, he was still on the enemy team.
"Easy there..." he said, taking a step forward.
I unsheathed my sword and glared at him menacingly. "Stay where you are."
He stopped in his place, but he didn't look afraid.
"Why are you here?" I asked sternly.
"To have a word with your Lord Third, if you don't mind." he said.
"Why would the Akatsuki want to speak with me?" Lord Third asked, suspicious.
"I need to speak to you about Satoshi." he said.
"Satoshi?" I asked. "Why do you need to know about him?"
"I want to know his story, of course." he said.
"Tsk, why don't you ask him yourself!"
He looked at me for a brief second before returning his gaze back to Lord Third.
"Why did you make him join my organization?" he asked. "I understand that he may have joined for the same reason as Itachi, but what did you think would be accomplished if you allowed him to join us."

"We have no time for this!" Lord Second shouted.
"Quiet brother, let him answer." Lord First said.
"But-"
"I thought it would give the Leaf extra protection from them and push them away from our village." he replied.
"How do you think he handled in the Akatsuki?" he said. "You willingly let two children join us, even though I was the one when I helped create its intentions, just to keep your little village safe."
The Akatsuki member looked like he was slowly getting angry. I was a bit confused about why he was getting so mad. He even clenched his fists a bit.
"It caused him great grief." he said. "No matter how grown their mind may be, children shouldn't be forced to do impossible missions that you made both Itachi and Satoshi do as ."
'He seems to be a bit sensitive when it comes to children.. did he have a bad childhood experience as well?'
"This is fairly interesting." Orochimaru chuckled. "I have never seen an Akatsuki member so concerned for another."
"I had no choice." Lord Third said. "It was for the great or good for the village. But not a moment went by when I have regretted my actions. I could have done so much more to prevent them from doing something that big for their age, but it couldn't be helped."
By now, the anger was evident on the Akatsuki member. He looked like he was ready to tear up everything in sight.
"Satoshi is because of your mission! There was a chance he could have gone back to the Leaf, but he chose to carry out mission until the very end!" he shouted.
'Satoshi is... dead? No, that can't be right.. he's stronger than that.'
Lord Third's eyes widened in surprise. But soon relaxed before closing his eyes.
"I hold great sorrow for the child, but he did what he could to serve his village." he said.
"That's all you have to say about-"
"Wait." I said, interrupting him. "If Satoshi is dead, why wasn't he reanimated with the rest?"
"His body is sealed by Purazuma, his sword." he answered.
"Purazuma you say?" Orochimaru said.
"Yeah, what of it?" Maasaki said.

"I know how to break off that little seal." he said.
"Bullshit." Maasaki said. "That sword won't unseal itself until it finds another host."
"That may be true... however, the sword can unseal itself in two ways." Orochimaru said. "It could be finding a nearby compatible host, or be broken by force. No one has been able to break it because of its complexity."
"Where are you getting at snake?" Maasaki said with a glare.
"I'm saying that I can break it." he said. "However, there's a catch."
"Tsk, just spill it out already!"
"If I bring Satoshi back as an edotensei, have to aid us in this battle."
Maasaki stood there silently and stared at the ground. He looked as if he was thinking to himself.
"I'll do it, just bring him back." he said.
"W-What?!" Suigetsu said. "You agree to something like that so easily?"
"It doesn't matter what side I'm on." he said. "I'll die anyways. Whether it be by the hands of my in crime, or by the hands of Satoshi."
"Why do you care so much for Satoshi?" I asked.
"Let's just say, he's purified my ideals."
I looked at the member strangely. What kind of connection did he have with Satoshi?
"Edo Tensei!"
A coffin was coming out of the ground, but very slowly. Orochimaru looked as if he was battling something mentally. The coffin was going up a few inches, only to be brought down again. I watched as Orochimaru applied more chakra into the jutsu until the coffin finally sprang up. The lid slid off and there stood the body of Satoshi. His head began to rise as he opened his eyes. He took a step out as the coffin disappeared. He looked around his surroundings which only caused him to shake his head.
"Why must I always be brought back into conflicts.." Satoshi sighed.
Maasaki looked quite happy to see him. However, I was quite angry at him. Maybe even furious. I walked up to the one I called best friend all those years ago, and punched him square in the face. Everyone was surprised at my actions and were about to tell me why I would do that, but my face said it all. I had tears running down my cheeks, but my eyes were glaring at him.
"You're such an idiot, you know that!" I said.
"What did I do?" he asked lazily.
"What do you mean what did you do!?" I shouted. "If you weren't already dead, I'd kill you for your idiocy!"
He looked at me with sad eyes before giving me a small smile.
"Did I worry you?" he said softly.
"Tsk, you're such a loser!"
He chuckled. "I missed you too, old friend."
Satoshi then pulled me into a hug making me feel slightly embarrassed. I awkwardly hugged him back, but I truly was happy to see him again, and this time.. as friends.
Satoshi broke the hug and looked over at Masaaki who was standing not too far away.
"Why are you here?" Satoshi asked.
Maasaki slumped. "The first time you see me after being brought back to life, and is how you greet me?"
Satoshi grinned at the blue haired boy and engulfed him into a hug.
"You know what I meant." he said.
Maasaki chuckled. "I was trying to know more about your back story. I figured Sasuke would do something as to summon up the past Hokages."
"How did you figure that out?" Satoshi asked breaking the hug.
Maasaki stayed silent, causing all of us to sweat drop.
"It was a lucky guess.. wasn't it?" Satoshi deadpanned.
Maasaki sheepishly rubbed the back of his head and gave out a nervous chuckle. "Whaat? Why would you think that?"
"Hopeless..." Satoshi sighed.
"You have no idea how much I missed your negative comments, Satoshi."
Maasaki then latched himself onto Satoshi and began to cry happily.
"We have a war going on... remember?" Juugo said.
"Huh? A war?" Satoshi asked, confused.
"I forgot that was even happening." I said. "Satoshi, we need your help."
Satoshi groaned. "I'm already dead, I shouldn't even be relevant anymore!"
"Well you're back in the meantime, that means your relevant right now, so let's go." I said.
"Fine.."
Satoshi began to walk ahead of us, until he began to pat down on the burgundy cloak he wore and panicked.
"Satoshi, what's wro-"
"WHERE IS MY BOOK!?"

Ursus Ex Machina
Ozzy was a man of the wild. Raised in a remote village atop the world's mightiest mountain, he'd been taught to respect and revere the natural world. The realm he was born into had been there long before him, and it would remain there long after him. Sure, there was the occasional madman who threatened to destroy it, but such boasts were always empty. No one individual was actually capable of demolishing this beautiful blue-and-green ball Ozzy called home. No matter what terrible magics these villains wielded, they were incapable of causing permanent harm to the environment. Even if the planet was completely devastated, it would recover. Life would find a way to flourish, same as it always had. That was what Ozzy believed from the bottom of his heart, so he never once felt the need to save the world he loved. After all, it was never truly in danger. The world would be fine no matter what. The people were a wee bit endangered, but that was another story altogether. However, what would happen if Ozzy suddenly found himself devoid of his beloved wilds? What would the man do if the realm he knew - one of wonder, magic, and chaos - was replaced with a man-made environment of concrete, industry, and steam? Ozzy could never imagine such a thing happening, and yet that was his new reality. After losing a fateful confrontation with a mad wizard, he and his friends found themselves transported to a strange world so thoroughly alien that every waking moment feels like a fever dream. Separated and scattered to the four corners of this land, each of these adventurers will need to adapt, survive, and overcome if they hope to reunite. They would also need to do so quickly. The sooner they are able to find one another, the sooner they can figure out a way back home and have another crack at putting an end to the villain's plans. Whether such a thing was actually possible in a world with barely any magic in it was a valid concern, but Ozzy had more immediate things to worry about. For instance, why did the air smell like a perpetual forest fire? How did ships sail through the sky as if it were water? And most importantly, was the pavement he was hurtling towards at high speed much softer than it looked? Probably not, but a man could hope.

Polly and Drake
Drake has been searching for a job as a personal guard, but wherever he turns, he is kicked out without fail. It's not that he's terrible with weapons, or inattentive. It could be because of his obvious racial heritage. Or because of Polly. With his funds dwindling, the only remaining option is to become one of the Cursed: poor souls that work for the Dragoneye Guild. In other lands, they may be called adventurers, saviors or even heroes, but not in the White Desert. Here, they are shunned and ignored. Depraved people who forsook their humanity for money and fame. With this choice, Drake may not only fall from grace, but also become one of only a few thousands capable of unearthing the secrets of ancient times. If he could get this guardsman notion out of his head. May contain gore, violence, profanity and traumatising content. Taking another shoot at this writing business. I write for fun and when I have time. There is no plan. The story may change drastically from what it starts out - or not. We'll see what happens. Currently, I'm aiming for a Slice of Life with LitRPG elements at a later time.
