《Kakashi The Hunter》Part X Seven

Watching the Pin Man vibrate around the room was amusing. What's even more amusing is the bald man pretending to be a ninja. he couldn't protect himself from a thrown kunai by a 12-year-old Naruto if he tried. though the amusement he brought was probably the best part of the many...many hours we've spent together in this small room. though it was starting to eat on my nerves.
while everyone else was minding their own business, he was gloating about his 'High Status in his village' I wonder how that would translate back in Konoha. there were still many hours left, and even if I was dead tired, I wouldn't be able to sleep with so many people, let alone with people I'm sure would kill me at the first chance.
applicants were starting to get annoyed at Hanzo with all his blabbing. I can practically feel the bloodlust radiating from Hisoka, and by the looks of it, so can Gittarackur. I feigned boredom as he rambled, with a sigh of course. most applicants looked like they agreed.
slowly I reached into my pouch and pulled out my book. a little literature couldn't hurt, right? sadly, it drew some attention from the more restless applicants. "The hell is that? What's the cover say?"
I looked over at the plain man that asked. "it's just a book. and the cover? Icha-Icha Paradise. or as a more known name: Makeout Paradise." the same man raised a thin eyebrow. "What's that s'posed to be, a woman's romance novel?" chuckles echoed around the room. the few women who made it this far scowled. alright smart guy, maybe I'll just show you.
"Who said I'm not a woman?" the smiles fell from faces as the applicants around the room looked at me. "what? maybe I'm in a disguise." I did the hand sign for Naruto's Sexy Jutsu (with clothes. I'm not about to get naked.) a puff of smoke surrounded me. when it cleared my hair was longer, my waist was slimmer, and my chest more pronounced.

"I could've been a woman this whole time and none of you would've guessed it." my voice was based on a mix between Tsunade and Kushina. not too deep, but not high either. half the men in the room had wide eyes and the other half was basically drooling, save for Hisoka who looked intrigued, Gittarackur who looked thoughtful, and Hanzo who had a look of recognition. the females in the room were looking on in amusment, thoroughly enjoying the embarrassed faces of the men.
the man who made fun of the Legendary Book(™) was spluttering out an apology. I released the technique, chuckling at their faces. "I'm not a woman, no. but this book is more than just a silly romance novel. I read it for the plot."
as the room finally quieted, I continued to read the words I'd long since memorized. within the next few hours several people came through the doors, but none of them the ones I've been anticipating. the intercom went off, announcing there were only two hours left. the waiting applicants started to get antsy. more than a few conversations started, and I noticed Gittarackur and Hisoka started one of their own. I tried to listen in on the Pin Cushion and Clown- but by the time I finally got decipherable words they ended it.
"-- keep an eye on them~."
I couldn't help but wonder who they're talking about. it could be me, or my four little followers(or big- in Leorios' case), or it could be someone completely different. I went back to my book, eyes unfocused and contemplating instead of reading. by the time I was pulled out of my head, there were mere minutes left.
then a door opened.

Permanight (Hiatus)
The world of Mecc has fallen into permanent night. Monsters roam the countryside, the sun refuses to rise, and towns and cities alike are falling into disarray. Their only hope is the ancient prophecy, which says a hero of light will emerge to save humanity in their darkest hour... 20 years from now. Too little, too late for those living now. In the midst of the the apocalypse, college student Oscar McAllister finds himself out of a job and out of luck. After accidentally ending up slaying a daemon on his way to get the groceries however, Oscar is haplessly drawn into the world of adventuring and questing, and with the old world falling apart - Oscar becomes one of the many tasked with trying to hold everything together. As he fights however, he is forced to face not just the evil that lurks in the shadows: but the indifference that lurks in people’s hearts. The world is playing a waiting game with human lives, and Oscar is caught right in the middle of it. Note: This is a dark LitRPG story, with dungeons, levelling, and quests in a contemporary setting. Permanight is currently on hiatus while I prepare a rewrite based on the current feedback I've recieved. I'm sorry for the bad news, but I want to bring the world to life in a way that feels real, and at the moment - I'm not entirely convinced that I'm doing that.
