《Blood to Love | 3rd year》29- Flirting Lessons

I awoke the next morning well-rested and jubilant. It was halfway through the week and I was looking forward to the unplanned date to Hogsmeade this weekend with the Gryffindors.
I got ready and headed to Divination because I took too long getting ready to go get breakfast.
As I arrived to the Divination classroom, Blaise was already sat down and waiting for me. I waved to Pansy from across the room in her assigned seat and she smiled and quickly waved back while returning to her conversation with Daphne.
"Hi," I shortly stated to Blaise while sitting down.
"You look chipper. What happened?"
"Just excited for this weekend and I got immaculate sleep."
"What's this weekend?"
"Well since you and Pansy are going together to Hogsmeade and I'm not trying to be a third wheel, so I've made plans with the Gryffindors."
"If you wanted to come you should've asked!" Blaise kindly offered.
"Enough! I have plans now, you two need alone time or whatever, and I'm fine with going with them," I assured. "Blaise, please stop worrying about me! I can make plans. Also, if you ever want to hang out with Pansy then let me know and I'll leave you two alone."
"Thanks," he said. "Let's just get through Divination and worry about the future later."
I nodded and for the rest of class we messed around as usual, not paying attention to the useless words being thrown around the room.
Once class ended, we zipped out for our free period.
"I'm going to use the restroom," Blaise told me as we were walking down the hallway.
I nodded to imply that I understood and he walked into the hallway restroom. I decided to take a short walk down the hall.
As I was grew bored, I began to observe the portraits on the wall and a few students passed me who were scurrying to get to their next class. I heard someone say hi to me so I glanced around as I continued walking forward. What I didn't realize was that there was somebody right in front of me that I then ran into.
"Sorry," I mumbled while looking up at the body.
"We've got to stop meeting like this."
"Oh, hey Adrian!" I said, excitedly.
"That excited to see me?"
"I suppose I am," I said, recalling the time Lucious told me to hang out with Adrian Pucey because he was a nice person.
"I'm delighted to see you as well," he began. "We should get together more often."
"Absolutely."
"How about this weekend?"
"I'm sorry I'm going to Hogsmeade with Harry, Ron, and Hermione."
"No problem at all. How about next weekend?"
"We could just hang after class one day," I proposed.
"Are you free tonight?"
"As a matter of fact, I am."
"Perfect, meet me in the Slytherin common room at eight. Is that cool?"
"Very. See you then."
I then turned back down the hall to find Blaise. Thankfully, he witnessed my conversation with Adrian and was standing in the hallway waiting for me to come back.
"What was that about?" he curiously asked.
"We planned to hang out," I plainly said.
"As a date?"
"Of course not! Wait — don't tell me I just agreed to a date!"
"It's Adrian! You think he just wants to hang out with you?"
"He only wanted to dance at the ball over break, nothing more!"

"That was in public. Y/n, you need to learn when someone is flirting with you."
"Teach me! We have a free period," I begged.
"You want me to waste time teaching you how to flirt and recognize when someone is flirting with you instead of doing my homework?"
"Yes?" I uneasily replied.
"Alright, let's go to the library."
I followed Blaise into the library and we took a seat in the back corner. We began whispering, although louder than a usual whisper due to being in the far corner and away from Madam Pince's hearing range.
"First, let's teach you how to know when someone is flirting with you," Blaise said.
I nodded and he began explaining.
"I have a list of things people do when they are flirting: they may make continuous eye contact, give you brief glances a few times, they are sometimes mean to you, they give you awkward compliments, they touch you while they talk, they raise their eyebrows when they see you, they get close to you, they try to hang out with you more often than others, and last but not least, they focus on you when in a group conversation."
"This is hard for me to say, but Blaise, you have a girlfriend. You can't keep flirting with me."
"Shut it," he began, smiling at me. "I will now teach you how to flirt."
"Already? Okay, go ahead."
"Don't get your hopes up, you might not be a natural."
"You don't believe in my flirting abilities? That's very rude of you, Blaise."
"Enough with your silliness. There are different types of guys. Some like you to be mean with to them and others like regular flirting, you need to find out what kind of guy you are working with first."
"Okay that shouldn't be terribly difficult to figure out; guys are pretty transparent."
"I'm not even going to respond to that. Let's just say if a guy likes toxic girls, you need to teasingly fight him and say things like 'watch me' or 'make me' because they eat that stuff up. However, if you are dealing with a regular guy, you need to learn pick up lines."
"Do you know any good ones?" I asked.
"Well I have to tell you that Draco is amazing at pick up lines, but I'm guessing you don't want him in this conversation," he said.
I shook my head immediately and he sighed, but continued.
"Kiss me if I'm wrong, but your name is Bob, right?"
"Blaise, I'm not saying that."
"I told you I'm not good at this!"
"I couldn't help but overhear you." Draco emerged from behind a bookshelf.
"Please tell me you were not listening."
He sent a sly smile.
I slammed my head on the table and softly groaned out of embarrassment.
"Don't worry, princess. I can help you here."
"I don't need your help."
"Blaise isn't the best guy to be asking how to flirt," Draco ignored me and continued helping unwillingly. "Now, if the person is staring at you, you can either use my brilliant line 'staring doesn't give you the power to see through my clothes' or you could simply stare back. However, if the person makes a witty joke then you must make one back. On the other hand, if they decide to compliment you, you have three options. One, accept the compliment. Two, compliment back. Three, be cocky and say something like 'I'm aware' because some guys like independence."

"My head is going to explode," I complained loudly.
"What do you need this for anyway?" Draco asked.
"Well apparently Adrian just flirted with me and I had no idea. It's not like I care though because I might only try these on George."
"Pucey? He flirted with you?" Draco raised his eyebrows.
"Don't look at me like that! I didn't ask for it."
"Now would be the perfect time to flirt with you."
"Please do! I need to see it in action," I pleaded.
"Fine, say that again," he said, referring to my previous sentence.
"Don't look at me like that. I didn't ask for him to flirt with me," I repeated dully.
"I couldn't see why he wouldn't." Draco grinned and then sat there waiting for my response.
"Uh — I'm sorry I can't flirt with you Draco, it's too weird."
"Just pretend I'm George."
"Let me try to say something else and respond to whatever you have," I started. "Ok, hm — What do you think women want?"
"I don't know, success?" Draco narrowed his eyes at me.
"Success? Maybe most women want that but all I want is you," I said, trying immensely hard not to burst out laughing.
"That was terrible. Let's try one more. I'm going to simply stare at you and I want you to come up with something to say," he suggested.
I nodded and he started into my eyes flirtatiously and then they traveled to my lips. Something fluttered in my stomach but I shoved it away and frantically thought of something to say. I decided to be spontaneous and grab Draco by his tie and shove him forward. I whispered in his ear 'meet me in your dorm' and I could feel him lightly shiver.
"Well — uh, yeah — that's the idea," he said, bewildered.
"Thanks guys!" I shouted while skipping out of the library and heading to Care of Magical Creatures. Once I got outside, I walked down to Hagrid's hut and waited for the rest of the class to join.
"Morning, Hagrid!" I beamed.
"Mornin'," he confusedly stated. "Are yer okay, Y/n?"
"I'm great."
Many students gathered around and I stood next to the trio. On the other hand, Pansy, Blaise, and Draco stood with the rest of the Slytherins. Pansy furrowed her brows at my happiness but Blaise and Draco grinned at me.
"Harry, did you just use stupify?" I asked him while Blaise and Draco sent me a thumbs up.
"No, I didn't," he uneasily said.
"So you're just a natural stunner?"
He rolled his eyes but chuckled intensely. I smirked at him while Blaise and Draco chuckled along after hearing my pick up line. Ron widened his eyes and Hermione giggled loudly as well.
"Where did you learn that?" he suddenly asked after the laughter died down.
"Blaise and Draco are teaching me how to flirt," I explained.
"I'll be sure to remember that one."
"Ron," I began and his face reddened. "I may not be 'the boy who lived' but I can still be your chosen one."
He turned redder than the Gryffindor common room walls and Hermione bursted out into laughter along with me. Harry began wheezing and he even fell to the ground which made me laugh even harder. The class was looking at us oddly but we didn't care and we continued laughing and giving each other pick up lines.
During the whole rest of class, Hagrid's lesson was easy and all we did was talk about Flobberworms once again, similar to Monday's lesson.
The trio and I didn't pay much attention, as we kept making awful, but hilarious, pick up lines on one another. After what felt like the most fun yet longest class in magical history, it was finally time for lunch.
When I arrived at lunch, I sat in between Fred and George and across from the trio. During lunch I decided to do my first pick up line on George.
"George," I began.
"Yes, darling?"
"Do you mind if I Weasley my way into your dorm?" I said while stifling my laughter as best as I could.
He pursed his lips disappointedly and began shaking his head.
"What is wrong with you?" he teased.
"You still love me."
"You're right about that," he muttered.
I looked over at him in disbelief and he slickly turned to Ron across from him. I then gasped at him and punched him in the chest.
He grabbed my arm as I went in for another punch while ignoring my pleas for him to let go.
"You get punished when your abuse your peers."
He winked flirtatiously after his line.
I rolled my eyes at him and finally fought out of his tight grip on my hands by stomping on his foot with my own.
"Ouch!"
"You get punished for holding your peers hostage," I said as I winked back.
He glanced down at my lips and I slickly turned to Fred. George began tapping me childishly but I ignored him as he had done seconds ago.
I had the sudden urge to turn around and kiss George, but I fought it strongly and continued talking to Fred about possibly helping me with quidditch.
"I would love to play and Harry told me I could be a good chaser or keeper," I told Fred.
Harry heard his name and joined in on the conversation.
"Yes, Y/n is bloody amazing at flying. No offense but I was extremely surprised."
"Harry don't flatter me," I joked.
George stopped tapping me as I said that and then I felt his hands grab my shoulders and turn me around. I took a sharp inhale and he glared at me.
I grinned. "Miss me already?"
His eyes narrowed even further and I absentmindedly glanced at his lips. He seemed to do the same to me but Harry said my name and I quickly turned back around.
"What?"
"We just said that you'll be disappointed once the Gryffindors keep winning," Fred said as he pretended to flip his hair.
"Harry boosted my ego so much, I think he fears I might beat you guys." I faked a frown.
"As if. I'll admit you're brilliant, but one of you can't beat an all around skilled team."
"Well, we'll see."
"Not you too!" Hermione groaned, now listening in on our conversation.
"What's wrong?" I asked.
"Now all of you are going to be crazy about Quidditch! There's no escape."
"Don't worry, Hermione. My life is pretty interesting, there will surely be other things to talk about rather than Quidditch."
"Your life is far from interesting."
"I'd like to think it is."
"Have you met Harry?"
"No, who is that again?"
"I kissed you yesterday and now you don't know who I am!" Harry said, then quickly covered his mouth with his hand.
"Are you embarrassed that you kissed me?"
I then made my eyes water on cue in an attempt to make him feel guilty, surely a Slytherin thing to do.
"No! No! I'm not!" Harry assured, thinking that I was actually crying.
"Harry I'm just kidding," I said while wiping away the fake tears.
"You've got to stop scaring me."
"I don't think I will," I finalized with a smile.
Everyone was dismissed from lunch and I walked off to Muggle Studies. The daily routine of me zoning out occurred and Ernie informing me again what we covered in class.
"Love you, Ernie!" I called out while hurrying to Transfiguration. Everyday felt like an endless cycle of classes until the excitement from the weekend kicked in. It was exhausting.
Once I arrived, I took my usual seat and Draco plopped down next to me. McGonagall began the lesson. We sat and unsuccessfully transfigured teacups to tortoises. McGonagall suggested that we practiced for homework and then we were dismissed.
I laid down in the common room listening Blaise rant about shredded cheese while finishing homework and practicing transfiguration spells. Eventually it was time for dinner so we left.
Pansy and Draco were sitting next to each other and I could tell that my face represented that of surprise.
"I suppose we are sitting together today," I whispered to Blaise.
"Pansy and Draco were doing their charms homework together."
I nodded and we sat down and ate. Blaise began voicing his opinion to Pansy and Draco on shredded cheese and I became bored out of my mind.
I looked around the Great Hall and noticed McGonagall, Snape, and Dumbledore all staring at me. When they noticed that I looked over, they glanced away and began chewing unsubtly.
I turned to the Gryffindor table and made eye contact with George. He smiled and then engaged in conversation with Harry and Hermione while Fred and Ron were chatting next to him. I turned back to Blaise and stared off into space while he continued rambling on about cheese.
Once dinner was finally over I rushed out of there quickly and made my way to the Slytherin common room. I sat on the couch and waited for Adrian to meet me.
"Hello," a familiar voice whispered over my shoulder.
I turned around and he smiled.
"Ready to go?" he asked.
"Where exactly are we going?"
"That's a surprise!"
"Take it away, Pucey," I suggested while grinning.
He waited for me to stand up from the couch and then he lead me out of the Slytherin common room and into the halls. The words that Blaise said earlier were replaying in my mind.
"It's Adrian! You think he just wants to hang out with you?"
I shoved the thought away and convinced myself that he actually wanted to simply hang out.
"You're slow," he said while grabbing my wrist and pulling me towards the astronomy tower.
We walked up the steps and he finally stopped once we reached the top.
"What are we doing here?" I asked.
"Come look."
I followed him over to the telescopes near the edge of the tower and gazed through one that was pointed straight into the night sky.
"Stars," he whispered, mesmerized.
"I love it," I said.
"They all do."
"You mean to tell me this is your dating spot?"
"No! No! I didn't mean it like that, it's just that — uh — well — I don't know, girls like the sky?" he attempted to fix his slip-up.
"Actually I have to go," I stated. "My friend was telling me about cheese earlier and I just thought of a question to ask him."
"No, don't go! I didn't mean it like that!"
"Sorry, it's just that I should get back now," I said, wracking my brain for a better excuse.
I backed away and headed towards the stairs. Before I could make it to the steps, Adrian grabbed my wrist, twirled me around, and kissed me. I pushed away with all my might and sprinted down the stairs of the astronomy tower, faster than I have ever ran in my life.
Once I got back to the Slytherin common room, I was panting like a wild dog.
"What's wrong with you?" Blaise asked from the couch with his arm wrapped around Pansy's shoulder. "I thought you were with Adrian."
"I was until he took me to his make out spot and I escaped."
"What! You kissed?" Pansy became interested in the conversation.
"Against my will!"
"That's two guys this week! Add it to the kiss list," she mumbled, scribbling something on the paper in front of her.
I shook my head at her and told her I was going to the dorm to clear my head. She insisted on coming with me, however, I refused but she escaped Blaise's grasp and followed me up the stairs anyways.
We laid on my bed and she began talking.
"Now that's Ron, Harry, and Adrian," she sung proudly.
"All in the span of a couple months," I said with dread.
"Whose getting around now?"
I laughed at her and then suddenly felt very tired. I felt myself falling asleep while Pansy talked about her first kiss.
Eventually, I blocked her out entirely and closed my eyes. Once she was done, she noticed that I was asleep and she threw a blanket on me.
"Night. Dream about Adrian, or Harry, or Ron. Whoever you prefer," she said while exiting the room.
I groaned at her unknowingly and heard the door close while I officially fell asleep.

What do you wish for?
Norman hated his life. His peers ignored and bullied him. His mother nagged. His father was never home. Norman desperately wished for a miracle, but his prayers went unanswered. Until one night. **************************************** Note: This story is going to be very short. I would recommend reading it all at once. This story started out as a challenge I set for myself. I've recently felt bogged down because of the need to write more. That's why each chapter will be only 300 words long. Exactly 300 words long. At this point, I've pretty much written the whole thing, so I'm very confident that there will only be eight chapters.
