Snape was happy that Rose had called him dad, even if it was just a small joke. When he thought about that though, he knew it was payback to James Potter for taking Lily from him. For having the child with Lily that he could have had. However, knowing that Rose was a sweet girl who was close to him already, he knew he couldn't blame James anymore. For he died for the child and fate gave her to him. Even if that meant he had to be a father figure of her. Dumbledore however walked into the room, smirking at the man.

"You and Rose have become close in a year." He spoke.

"Of course we are becoming close. She see's me as a father figure. One she never had." He explained.

"Think of what you said Severus. She has her uncle. Surely he was her second father figure." Dumbledore said.

"She's had James, Vernon was never a father figure. She was too old hen she moved in, she never saw him as more than her uncle." Severus told him.

"Just because Vernon was never her father figure, he is still the male that will support her life. The one to give her away when she is to be married." Dumbledore said.

"No he won't. Remus Lupin and Sirius Black will be doing that, you already know that." Severus snapped.

"Remus will not return... He has lost all of his friends. As for Sirius. He will never be released from Azkaban. Think about it Severus." He told him. "But since when did you care enough about Rose to concider what she would like?" Dumbledore asked.

"She may not be my daughter, however she might as well be. That child will always have my support. Even if she has others in her life that care about her just as much as myself." Snape snapped at him.

"Severus, you must rethink this. Harry will come next year, will you handle? She cares for her brother. You treating Harry wrong may cause Rose to hate you." Dumbledore told him.

"She would never hate me for that, she understands everything about what the Marauders did. I will try be kind to Harry, keep him safe during Hogwarts. He still is Lily's child and I will protect him as much as Rose." He said before storming off.
