Barely, but at the end of the day you're still breathing and that has to count for something.
It took the rest of the week but Jungkook can finally look you in the eyes again without totally freaking out. You tried to convince him to tell you what was wrong but he wouldn't budge, saying that he's simply on his "man period."
His way of making up for trying to avoid you all week is to take you out to the movies.
Of course, this is a typical thing you would normally do, no date attached whatsoever. However, this is the perfect chance for you to try to get closer to Jungkook without school, or Sana, as a distraction.
The rest of the week Sana left you alone for the sake of saving what microscopic chance of a relationship she had with Jungkook in the first place. You didn't tell Jungkook what she did and you convinced, or really threatened, Jimin and Taehyung to keep quiet about it.
"Sana doesn't have a chance with Jungkook anyways so what's the point of telling him?" Jimin and Taehyung glanced at each other silently in the deserted hall. "Exactly, so you better not say anything unless you want to lose something very... precious to you," you had told that same day in the hall after school while glancing down at their 'precious jewels' to which they quickly obliged with a nervous gulp.
You look down at your outfit while the two of you wait in line for snacks. The usual hoodie and sweats you would usually wear when going out with Jungkook has drastically changed to a pretty flare dress and white tennis shoes. You actually took time doing your hair and makeup and secretly hope it isn't too obvious.
This feels so weird, but kind of in a good way.
You never really dwelled too much on your feelings for Jungkook in the first place, or what it would actually feel like to date him... until recently. You imagine this is what it feels like for the multiple women he's taken on dates, the nervous jittering bufferflies tickling your insides, the constant worry if you have bad breath, if you picked out the right lace underwear for tonight.

Only this isn't a ploy for a one night stand, this isn't even a date to him, and that bothers you a little too much.
The more you think about it, the more you realize that you probably wouldn't have agreed to the bet you made with Jimin so easily if you didn't have some sort of feelings for the Jungkook to begin with, feelings outside of a regular friendship that is.
With the new found knowledge you begin to bite your lip in concern. You haven't dated many people before and now Jungkook, someone you've grown so comfortable with over the many years, is completely intimidating at this point.
You quickly check him out, eyes scanning over his ripped jeans, white button up shirt tucked and hugging his small waist perfectly. His dark hair is parted, styled in its customary way.
Has he always been this god-like?
"Y/N, are you okay?" Jungkook's voice causes a jolt to shoot through your entire body, his face adorned with intrigue, curiosity at your frequent twitching.
"Uh... y-yeah. I've never been better, why?" You pretend to stretch, trying to be as casual as possible.
Jungkook only smirks, laughing a snort through his nose and you eye him carefully.
"What?" You raise an eyebrow in question as you move up closer to the front of the concession line.
"Nothing, it's just... you look pretty," his words are short and sweet, completely unexpected, and your heart palpitates as you melt into a pool of honey.
The commotion around you, once blaring, is now muffled as your cheeks heat up. Voices, music no longer coherent as Jungkook's words sink in. He's given you compliments before but this time it leaves a weird tingling sensation as the words repeat over and over again in your head.
"What?" He asks, slight blush forming on his own cheeks as he raises his hands up in defense. "Is it a crime to call my best friend pretty?"

Your small smile widens, shy eyes peeking over to catch a glimpse of his nervous expression. "No, just surprising is all."
"And why's that?"
You purse your lips, a tiny laugh escapes at the cute face he makes when he's nervous. But before you can give a snarky answer you're pushed out of the way, rudely interrupted.
"Jungkook-ah!" Some girl and her friend squeal, jumping up and down like two little girls.
You flinch back, watching incredulously as Jungkook openly greets the beautifully tanned girl he's clearly familiar with. She hugs him tight, and you could almost laugh at how he barely hugged her back, hands politely not touching her form. Jungkook looks past the her shoulder at you, holding up one finger before ducking under the divider ropes, abruptly walking away with the two women.
You can only nod bitterly to yourself and turn on your heel, pained and pale as an employee calls you next in line. You order a popcorn and two slushies along with a bag of Skittles, silently moping on your dateless parade.
"You're alone, Beautiful?" The guy behind the counter asks with a creepy smirk on his face, even though it's quite obvious you're not, considering you ordered two drinks.
"No," you reply shortly, too irritated at the girls who took away your-- well -- not-so-much-of-a-date.
"That's too bad. But hey, if he doesn't show up I get off in the next-- "
"Thank you," you hand him cash, not bothering to get any change back, and snatch the snacks off the counter.
Your eyes dart around as you walk away from the creepy cashier, hoping to find Jungkook waiting for you. But your heart sinks as you lock onto him switching phones with the beautiful girl, typical flirtatious smirk in place, and you mentally gag as they exchange numbers.
You wanted to run away as tears of jealousy fill your eyes but you hold them back and stand as tall as you can in your sad state, whimpering quietly as Jungkook parts from the girls and back over to you with a cheerful appearance.
His smile slowly dies as he takes in your tense stance. "What's wrong?" The concern in his voice has you barking a humorless laugh.
Usually you wouldn't be fazed, as this happens all the time with your playboy best friend. But the bet, that doesn't really feel like a bet anymore, has caused a rush of various foreign emotions to take over your logical thinking.
"Really? You couldn't even wait?!" You cross your arms to hide the tremble of your fingers, sub conscious screaming for you to shut up, that Jungkook isn't your boyfriend and you don't have the right to stop him from getting other girls numbers.
"Wait for what? She's an old friend, we lost contact a while ago but-- "
"You couldn't have just waited until we were done with our-- " Your vulnerable voice breaks and you can't muster up the courage to tell Jungkook the one thing you wish this was.
"Done with our what, Y/N? You're not making any sense... since when do you get so worked up about things like this?" His jaw flexes as he waits for your answer but you can't.
"Never mind, let's just hurry the movie is about to start."
You pull Jungkook into the theatre room without another word, not at all willing to continue the conversation for fear you would finally break down.

At The Precipice
Defenseless. Scared. Alone. That describes the life of Brock Carter as of late. Following his ‘death’ at the hands of a vicious magpie, Brock is rescued by the machinations of the newly instated, all-powerful System and thrust knee-deep into a brutal world catered only to the strong. Fluctuating between two states of being and trapped within a city ravaged by time, he is told to either seek out the mysterious ‘Source’, or die trying. He just hopes he can do it without scuffing his expensive suit in the process. ***** Honestly, I've just always wanted to write a story. I had a crack at it a few years back, but the entire thing fell apart before it even began. At The Precipice was originally written as a way for me to destress and play with System elements and characters, but eventually I decided that if I was gonna write, why not post it too? Writing's just a hobby of mine, so don't expect this to be at published novel level, I guess, or even anything of relative polish. Updates every Mon-Tues-Wed-Thurs-Fri Average chapter length is 2000 - 3000 words ***** What to expect: - A semi-comedic/light tone, mixed in with a gritty world and brutal survival (not ever grimdark though) - An MC that thinks about what he's going to do and why he'll do it, even if his internal logic is lacking. Is a rather rational person, not often influenced by his emotions, but can be in extreme situations. - A plot heavily focused upon the MC, but one that will branch off to envelope the other characters in the world at times. Often, it's just other people's perspectives of him. - A story of power growth. While the MC is certainly going to be powerful, even over 100 chapters in from what I've written, he still isn't the strongest being on Earth, let alone the entire Multiverse. - Lots of gore, vivid fight descriptions, and often times deaths of people, some even somewhat important to the story ***** Things this story will never have: - Harems - An edgy, villainous MC - An MC that does jackshit about things for 'plot reasons'

Aurora Scroll
Hey, what would you do after you got isekai-ed? Me? Look! A cockroach villain has appeared. Let's kill him before he messes things up. Too cruel? That kind of character is always introduced to be killed by the protagonist anyway so I'm doing the world a favor here. Less CO2 emission. It's time to "Go Green" guys, even in another world. See over there, that's a trash young master type right there. What do I do? Endure the initial insults and provocation then dispose of him when no one sees of course. Why make things difficult? Hmm, a pretty girl in peril. Potential love interest there… but no, I have enough problems as it is. At the very least, I won't help her just 'cause she's a female. Same goes for males. What? I support gender equality. Hey, I know the clichés, what did you think I was going to do? Simply let it run its course? Well duh, I'll twist it to my benefit. ************************************************ -This is a power fantasy story. Weak to strong, strong to stronger. -The MC is very genre savvy and a hardcore internet citizen.-English is not my first language, apologies for the imperfections. The Princess of Malik'Dar (Warriors of Sword & Sorcery)
The Princess of Malik'Dar (buy the book here) Captured by giants and nearly killed as a sacrifice in the bedchambers of a sorceress, Falinor, a mercenary swordsman with some small skill in the magical arts, is rescued by Harrkania’Dar, a princess among the giants.
