《We All Die, In The End》Depression

the depths of this cavern lit by

dark blue light slicing through

illuminating the bubbles

like floating glowing orbs

grass and algae climb the walls

running to escape high tide

the waters climb higher then recede from dusk to dawn

high tide is approaching

filling this underwater world

water slowly pushes upward

air fights back

the water keeps rising

and the air retreats

leaving me clawing upward

willing the air to stay

up up up the water rises

snatching my breath away

I scream for air

My lungs burn

But slowly a stillness ensues

The hollow empty numbness spreads through arms

Through my legs

And soon I feel nothing

I am at peace with the water

The currents push me as they please and I let them

The water slithers into my nose

Down my throat

Filling my lungs

The cold rippling stillness weighs me down

Down, down, down

Until I settle on the floor

I lay open

Willing and coaxing the water

Wanting to feel the chill seep through my bones

The grasses snag at my skin

Teasing my fingers swaying just out of reach

Letting the sunlight slice like blades through my corneas

The contrast of this place is unsettling

I feel unease ripple through my flesh

Glancing upward there are fish

Floating above me

Suddenly I want to be with them

On the surface

Out of the cold

I want to feel the silk like wind brushing against my skin

Smell the salty air

Shake forgotten droplets of water out of my hair

Hug the sun in a tight embrace.

Then.

Then I will be at peace.
