Zenitsu was a little afraid of himself and his managing skills.
In the two of you, Zenitsu was never one to stay in the house for its maintenance. He thinks he does well with the children though. He hoped he was good as he thinks.
Zenitsu declared in the master's bedroom, "I'll survive for one week! (Y/N) will be so proud of me!"
The eldest, Kazuki, was peeking from the small gap of the door. A mischievous snicker that only meant pure malice was present.
"Kazu-nii? What are you doing?" inquired Yome-the second child. She was crossing her arms with a scolding look planted on her face.
She turned to the other way, but her eyes remained fixed on the eldest. She warned, "Don't you dare start something with Oka-san gone. She entrusted the whole house to us, including Oto-san. You know how childish he can be sometimes."
Kazuki tried to persuade Yome. "It's not every day Oka-san's gone for one week, Yome. Loosen up a little, would you? You won't find any boyfriend at this rate."
Kazuki's attempt at starting an argument was thrown in the wind as Yome chose to ignore it for the household's sake. She whispered, "I don't know who's the eldest here." She walked away and left to watch over their infant twins-Momo and Taro.
Kazuki abandoned his spot from the bedroom door and proceeded to the living room. He wanted to make fun of their father now that you were gone overseas. No one can stop him now. Not even Yome.
* * *
Kazuki chirped at the infant twins, "Momo! Taro!"
At the sound of their names, they both turned their heads at Kazuki. The eldest joined the two babies on the floor. They had been playing with their toys.
"What are you playing?"
Momo showed a doll while Taro threw a stress ball at Kazuki. "That hurts, Taro!"
Kazuki spent some time for his younger siblings to get used to his presence. He would help them point out the colors of the different toys and tell them their names.

"So, Momo, Taro."
The two twins eyed their brother. "Why don't we let Oto-san suffer for one week, hm? It's just one week. It'll be fun."
"What are you talking about, Nii-chan?"
Kazuki flinched. He felt the shivers and the deadly aura emitting from behind him. He dared to peer over his shoulder and saw how Yome's eyes were narrowed to slits.
"Nothing! We were talking about how to surprise Oto-san," Kazuki turned to the twins, "Right?"
The twins nodded.
Yome didn't buy the lie at all. She sighed and joined Kazuki in entertaining their one-year old twins. "Momo-chan and Taro-kun are so cute!"
Zenitsu was about to call Yome when he walked past the babies' room. He immediately noticed the presence of all his children in one place. His heart fluttered at the sight.
He quickly took out his phone and snapped a picture. "Gotta send this to my dear (Y/N)~"
* * *
This was the start of hell for Zenitsu.
He didn't know when it actually started, but he realized just now that this is hell.
His heartbeat was accelerating as he stood in front of the burning eggs. He was flailing his arms around the kitchen, panicking magnificently at his gorgeous disaster.
He called the name that first popped in his mind, "YOMEEEEEEEEEEEEE-CHAAN!!!"
A loud crashing was heard from the ceiling of the first floor of the house, followed by the quick and repetitive footsteps pounding against the floor and the stairs.
A sweating Yome barged in the kitchen with a bump visible on her head. "What happened?!"
As soon as she caught sight of the burning eggs, Yome quickly moved around the kitchen to take care of Zenitsu's disaster.
"Oto-san..." Yome trailed off, facing the crying Zenitsu. Zenitsu explained himself, "I saw you studying diligently and figured to make you a breakfast for a surprise, but I guess it isn't anymore!"
Yome didn't know if she should be touched or question her mother for her choice of men.
Yome smiled. "You didn't have to do that, Oto-san. I can always sneak in some snacks between my study."

"But, it's still dark when you started."
"Okay, fine. Let me help with the breakfast. Nii-chan might come in any second now."
"That's my girl! I love you so much, Yome-chan!"
* * *
"Are you sure you can handle the groceries?" Yome had worry written all over her face.
Zenitsu waved his daughter's worries, although it didn't quite help his situation at all. Still, he wanted to maintain his image as a reliable father in front of his children.
Zenitsu could only regret his decision at the back of his mind for not bringing Yome with him at all.
He has "confusion" printed all throughout his face as he read off the list of the grocery.
Napkin? Overnight flow? With wings?
All of these terms went over Zenitsu's head.
With a smile, he chirped, "I'll rely to my father instincts~!"
God, was he wrong.
Yome was speechless.
"Can I see the grocery list, Oto-san?" Yome spoke, her voice laced with seriousness.
"I'M VERY SORRRRRYYY!!"
One could only guess what was in the grocery bags.
As Yome scanned through the list, she saw a very familiar handwriting. She returned the paper to her father with a not-so sincere smile plastered on her face.
"It's alright. I'll just get Kazu-nii from his room."
Zenitsu shrank away from his flaming daughter. He watched in fear as she trudged to the stairs and out of his sight, followed by the loud slamming of the door. Kazuki's screams of horror echoed throughout the house for the next ten minutes.
Zenitsu mumbled, "Yome really take on (Y/N)..." He gulped the nervously lump down his throat.
* * *
This was real hell for Zenitsu.
The two eldest was on school, which means Yome wasn't around to help. Even if Kazuki is in his rebellious phase, Zenitsu thought he could at least have the man in puberty helped him out.
If they were here.
Zenitsu doesn't know what to do.
Momo and Taro were crying in the crib-he has no clue why. The washing machine is probably drowning itself at the back with its soap. The kitchen should be covered in smoke by now because of the burnt food.
Zenitsu almost cried with the twins. Almost.
He rushed through the telephone and dialed a number. It took a couple of rings before the receiver answered.
"Hello-"
"TANJIROOOOOUUU! GET OVER HERE! I NEED YOUR HELP! THE HOUSE IS BURNING! MOMO AND TARO ARE CRYING! THE LAUNDRY'S A MESS! I DON'T WHAT TO DO!!! SEND HELP!"
Zenitsu could here the crashing and rattling sound from the other line.
"I-I'm on way! Stay alive!"
As soon as Tanjirou hanged up, Zenitsu cried with the twins.
"I ALREADY MISS YOU, (Y/N)-CHAN!"
* * *
"Hah! You got dumped by your crush. Serves you right."
"What the hell, Yome? I'm heartbroken here."
Yome and Kazuki passed the gates of their house.
Yome continued, "That's because you're an immature brat."
"Have some manners, young lady. I'm your brother."
"Well, nii-chan, do you want me to tell Oka-san that you messed up the grocery list? You're such a kid for your age!"
Kazuki opened the front door.
"We're home!" The two announced in unison.
"Well, Yome. You just don't know what is the feeling of love. You always stuck your nose in a bo-"
"Get your grades out of the trash before you can even get a fling."
"You-?!"
"Ah, look Taro-kun! Nii-chan and Nee-chan are home. Say hello."
Kazuki and Yome were both confused at the presence of Tanjirou in their house.
"Tanjirou-san, hello," greeted Yome.
Kazuki, who was still irked by Yome's remarks, walked past Tanjirou. Man, he was worried.
"Don't worry about it, Tanjirou-san. Kazuki-nii just got rejected."
Yome took Taro from Tanjirou's arms. She noticed Momo was asleep on the baby mat on the floor of their living room.
"I see..." Tanjirou trailed off, watching Kazuki stomped his way to his room.
"Where's Oto-san?"
"Ah, Zenitsu's sleeping. He was tired from babysitting."
Yome nodded. I bet he cried with Momo and Taro.

It's Hard to be a Hero in a Parallel World
A hero is transported from the real world into a parallel world similar to the video game he's been obsessed with for the past few weeks. The problem is, this game is way too difficult, especially for a nerdy gamer boy to survive. He decides to leave the hero-duty to someone who is actually competent while he looks for a way home. He hopes his knowledge of the game will help him stay out of trouble. Unfortunately, as one would imagine, the normal events of a game would change drastically when the main character is nowhere to be found. Read as the unlikely hero gets into trouble with his new companions, while trying to survive life in this parallel world. This is an original story that takes inspiration from and pokes fun at many novels, video games, anime, and the stereotypes and tropes that appear in those media.
