I head into the break room to see Mr. Yoshimaru and Kaneki. Behind them is a table with human food.

Yoshimaru: Good to see you here, your name is Y/N correct?

Y/N: Yes, why did you ask for me?

Yoshimaru: Just for a little help with teaching Kaneki to eat here.

Y/N: Oh your teaching him that trick

Kaneki: Wait what trick?

Yoshimaru: First take a bite of the food

Kaneki goes to take a bite of the food, when he does he quickly goes to spit it back up.

Kaneki: I'm sorry I couldn't help it, that tasted awful. The bread was tasted like a dry sponge and the cheese smelled rancid.

Mr.Yoshimaru picked up a piece of sandwich and ate it. Kaneki had a look of shock on his face.

Yoshimaru: The trick is not to eat it but to swallow it. Then act like your chewing it and also make noises to make it more believable. Of course you'll have to spit it back up before your stomach digest it.

Y/N: I made that mistake once, one of the worst pains I ever experienced in my life.

Kaneki and Yoshimaru practiced more for about an hour. Later he gave me and Kaneki a bag of weird sugar cubes.

Yoshimaru: Put these into your coffee next time, it'll help keep your hunger under control.

Y/N: Neat

Kaneki: Thanks, but what are they made of?

Y/N: We all know the answer to that.

Kaneki shudders a little

Yoshimaru: Listen, Anteiku isn't a normal coffee shop, it's a safe haven for all ghoul's of this ward to come together. If you don't mind me asking Kaneki, can you stay behind and help clean up, Normally I'd ask Touka but she's busy studying for an exam.

Kaneki: Ok

Yoshimaru: Oh and if you don't mind, could yo go food shopping with Yomo.

Kaneki gulps

Kaneki: Sorry sir, but I cant kill people, cant you have Y/N go?

Yoshimaru: Relax you wont be killing anybody, plus I need to teach Y/N how to work here.

Kaneki: Ok

After that Kaneki leaves the room, leaving me and Mr. Yoshimaru

Y/N: So am I really going to have to work here.

Yoshimaru: It is fair for if you're going to stay here.

Y/N: oh man

For the rest of the night Mr. Yoshimaru teaches you how to make coffee.

The next I was down stairs with Mr. Yoshimaru, Kaneki, and Touka.

Yoshimaru: Touka

Touka: Yes sir

Yoshimaru: Kaneki needs a mask made, so would you mind taking him to Uta's tomorrow?

Touka: What, but tomorrow is my one day off and the last thing I want to do is spend it with this idiot.

Yoshimaru: I would send him on his own, but I'm afraid he'll get lost. And as you know that's not the safest part of town.

Touka: I understand why you want me to go with him, but I don't think he's ready for a mask.

Mr.Yoshimaru's face turned into one of seriousness.

Yoshimaru: Touka, there are two investigators in the ward.

Touka: Not the doves

Y/N(thought): Probably Mado, that crazy white haired bastard has been after for forever.

Kaneki: The what?

Yoshimaru: That's why I think it would be best if you took Kaneki with you in case. Also I'm sending Y/N with you just as a precaution, plus it will be good for him to meet our other friends.

Y/N(thought): Oh man tomorrow was my day off to.

Touka: Alright, listen up you to, 2:30 at the train station tomorrow. Show up late and I'll kill you.

Touka said with a scary face that frightened Kaneki.

Timeskip

Kaneki and I were waiting at the train station for Touka to arrive. Kaneki fell down, I turned around and caught a for going for me.

Touka: Not bad, come on idiots lets get moving.

Kaneki: Oh it's you

The three of us begin our walk into a crappy part of town. I hear guys hitting on ladies and people fighting. We stop at a pair of stairs and go down them and go through the door at the bottom. Once inside a see various mask, all handcrafted. Kaneki goes over to one of the stands and pulls down the sheet to reveal a black haired man that scares Kaneki.

Touka: The hell you think your doing Uta?

Uta: Everyone needs a good scare now and then.

Touka: This is Uta, he'll be making your mask.

Uta: What's your name?

Kaneki: my name is Kaneki

Uta then proceeds to sniff Kaneki

Uta: Hey Touka I hear the doves are on the prowl, is that true?

Touka: Ya that's true.

Uta: Strange the 20th ward is usually quiet, you think it has to do with Rize or the Demon.

Touka: It could also be Tsukiyama, he's been pushing his luck lately.

Kaneki: Excuse me is the 20th wars usually peaceful.

Uta: Wow kid you're the definition of naïve, want to stay with me, you might get to see some cannibalism go down.

Kaneki: No sir

Uta: Alright, have a seat over there so I can take your measurements, by the way who is this?

Uta ask pointing at me.

Y/N: My name is Y/N L/N, I'm new at Anteiku.

Uta: Will you be needing a mask?

Y/N: No I already have one

Uta begins to ask Kaneki a bunch of a questions as I browse. When they are done we had back to the shop.

Kaneki: Hey Touka, how's Hinami doing?

Touka: None of your damn business!

Y/N: Her and her mother were forced to flee from their home due to a dangerous ghoul. To be honest I've never seen her so scared before. If you want to help I suggest you give her a book.

Touka glares at you

Kaneki: Ya that's got be tough. Another question what's the point of a mask?

Touka: What no one ever explained.

Y/N: If you ever get attacked by a dove, you don't want them to see your face. So that's why we wear mask.

Touka: Those jerks are just looking to start trouble.

Meanwhile in another part of the ward Mado and Amon are interrogating two ghouls about the pliers. However they know nothing so Mado just slices them.

I decide to try and help Hinami by giving her a book. I enter her room and see her eating.

I apologize and head back down stairs where I see Y/N and Koma.

Y/N: So how did it go.

Me: I saw her eating and left

Y/N: Oh dear

Me: What's wrong?

Koma: You see most ghouls don't like to be seen eating, especially the ladies.

Kaneki: Wow, I had no idea

Y/N: Here 's some advice, she likes to read those Takatsuki books but she has troubling reading, Seeing as how you like to read you could help her out.

Me: Thanks Y/N, one last question, how do you know so much about Hinami.

Y/N: These last couple of weeks I've been with the Fueguchi family, they are kind of like family to me.

I then go back upstairs to apologize to Hinami.

It was a bright and sunny morning. Hinami was happier than she was yesterday thanks to Kaneki.

Hinami: Good morning everyone

Everybody: Good Morning

Hinami: Morning Kaneki, morning Y/N

Kaneki and Y/N smiled back. Hinami and her mother then left. Everyone went back to work until a man with purple hair and a red suit came in.
