NO POV
Shikorae got blasted through a building and crashed into a wall. Amplivolt was close behind, preparing another powerful blast. By the time Shikorae got up, he was only met with another electrical blast.
Amplivolt: Jail, also known as Rio Shikorae. A former student of UA until thought to be deceased. Only to return as an infamous serial killer and villain. You have stood up to some of the best heroes in Japan, even Endeavor. Yet when I stand before you, you completely fall apart.
Shikorae: SHUT UP!
Shikorae lunged at Amplivolt, but Amplivolt knocked him back with another blast.
Amplivolt: I have seen footage of you fight, all of them you mercilessly slaughter people with a grin on your face. So why is it now you struggle to fight a weaker opponent like me?
Shikorae responded by yelling and charging again. Amplivolt dodged his attack with little effort and then blasted him in his back. Shikorae once again fell to the ground, this time not moving. Amplivolt approached the fallen villain, only to jump out of the way from Shikorae's rinkaku. Shikorae jumped back and swung his tendril around without thinking. As a result Amplivolt had an easy time dodging.
Amplivolt: How sad.
When Shikorae got close, Amplivolt held out his hand and shocked him so much that smoke was admitting from his body. As he struggled to get back up, he was only meet with more electricity coursing through his body. It didn't stop there, Amplivolt continued to electrocute Shikorae. Soon his screams could be heard through out the area. Other liberation members watched as Shikorae rolled around on the ground in pain.
Shikorae: PLEASE STOP!
Shikorae: AAAAAAAAAAA...PLEASE STOP...I CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE!
The electricity finally turned off as Shikorae's body slumped down. He simply stared at the ground, trying to get his breath back. A hand firmly grasped his chin, the next thing he knew he was face to face with the sinister Shiki Kijima.
Kijima: My, my Shikorae, I must say you're getting better at this. Lasted much longer than last time, I guess next time we'll have to up the voltage.

Shikorae started to shiver at the thought of electricity being increased.
Kijima: But since you have been behaving today, we'll just end things here. Tomorrow we can pick back up where we left off.
Kijima released Shikorae from his restraints and dragged him back to his room. Once there he threw Shikorae in and sealed the door tight. The room smelled absolutely horrible, In one corner there was rotten flesh that Shikorae hadn't eaten and in the other was a bucket of vomit from when Shikorae first had to eat flesh. Shikorae merely sat in the middle of the room, curled up in a ball and sobbed uncontrollably.
Shikorae POV
I simply just starred at my old self. Even to this day the torture that I suffered still makes me shiver. And it isn't better that this asshole is reminding me of those events. But it's because of this I became who I am now. Before I was weak, now I am strong. SO HOW IS IT THAT I CAN'T GET OVER THESE DAMN MEMORIES!
The area around me changes again. I am not at a building on the edge of the woods at night. I hear crying coming from the door. I approached it and saw a small baby on the door steps. I realized something; I looked at the building in front of me. This was the orphanage I was left at. This was the day they found me lying here.
The area transforms again, this time some of the other boys at the orphanage were chasing me. They did this because I was quirkless which meant they could overpower me. However I was always faster than them and managed to get away. Young me managed to escape from my tormentors and ended up at a playground. At this playground, a familiar green haired boy was lying on the ground covered in bruises. This was the day I met Deku.
The rest of the memories came flooding through my mind. Of how me and Deku bonded over that we were both quirkless and bullied by others. However it was our dreams to become heroes that made us stick together. As the years went by we would discuss our hero personas and prepare ourselves for the future. Throughout my entire life he was the only person who showed me true kindness.

The rest of my life flashed before me. The two of us entering UA, me getting bullied by the other students, my capture and torture, me breaking free and becoming Jail. Everything that made me who I am until this current moment. Suddenly, little kid me appeared in front of me, with a smile on his face. I knelt down and became face to face with him. A put his hand on my cheek.
Kid Me: Please don't let me vanish okay. I don't want to disappear.
Then he to was gone, leaving me all alone in the dark.
Me: Izuku, I'm sorry, but I can't go back. The people that I have killed and hurt, my hands are drenched in blood. I can never return to the person I once was.
Before he knew it the darkness around him was enveloped in a bright light. Empty world, the ground beneath made of blood. From this blood a figure emerged, it was Shikorae, specifically after he broke out. The insane Shikorae only laughed as the real one just stood there. Then he charged.
Fake Shikorae:
That Shikorae only got meant with a sucker punch and landed on the ground. It got back up and tried to bite Shikorae, but once again got knocked back down to the ground. Shikorae got on top of his psychotic form and started to choke him. The fake struggled as the real one had a sinister smile on his face.
Shikorae: Sorry, but you are no longer in control.
Fake Shikorae:
Shikorae: We'll see.
Then everything faded.
Shikorae didn't move from his spot on the ground. The other liberation soldiers started to cheer that they had managed to take him down.
Amplivolt: Not even the infamous Jail could stand up to the might of the Meta Liberation Army.
Amplivolt approached Shikorae's body. But once he got close, Shikorae's body jumped up and kicked Amplivolt right in the chin, knocking him to the ground. Amplivolt rubbed his sore chin as the liberation soldiers got ready to fight. Shikorae only smirked.
Shikorae: Who knew that electric therapy worked.
Shikorae leaped into the war to avoid a barrage of projectiles and proceeded to bring out his koukaku. He landed in a circle of them and with a single spin, took them all out. As the others charged, he brought out his ukaku and filled the rest of them with holes. It wasn't over yet though, Amplivolt still stood.
He fired another blast of supercharged electricity, this time Shikorae managed to dodge. Amplivolt fired off a few more blast but Shikorae managed to dodge each one with his enhanced speed. Before he knew it, his hand was cut off. As he screamed in pain, Shikorae came from behind and smashed his head into the ground.
Amplivolt tried to cut up but couldn't. Shikorae approached the fallen fighter. Amplivolt struggled to get his head up to face Shikorae.
Amplivolt: So what now, you gonna kill me?
Shikorae: The old me would have, but consider this a thanks for making me stronger.
He then proceeded to smash Amplivolt's head one more time, this time knocking him out. Shikorae leapt un top of a building to get a better view of what was going on. All around the city it was chaos. In one part he could see blue flames and ice emerging from the ground, most likely Dabi. In another part it looked like the city was decaying, probably from Shigaraki. And in another part...a mob of Twice rampaging.
Shikorae: Looks likes it time to take down the boss.

Ether mage
Everyone is born with mana. Some people are born with more. Some are born with less. If they practice enough, they can improve those numbers, but if you don't even have enough to practice with, there isn't much you can do. Everyone is also born with ether. It is useful, but can't power any spells by itself. It only gives them shape. You don't normally need much ether. It is nice to be able to summon swords out of thin air, but not really that useful ability in a peaceful country, where enchanted items are so cheap. For people born with bigger ether pool, there isn't much to do except double their efforts to get more mana. Or reach out for a forbidden power...

An Average American in A High-school Academy Anime
An American versed in narrative tropes and more than mildly acquainted with anime wakes up in a completely different bed than the one he went to bed in. Now he has to scramble to understand where he is, what's going on, and hope to God he isn't in a relationship drama. I don't expect this to be good or well-received, but I have plenty of time this quarantine, so I'll try to get a chapter of 4000-10000 words out every one or two weeks. (haha) Please let me know how it can be improved. I'm an avid reader of fiction, but I've never really fallen down a rabbit hole so hard that I can name all tropes and settings and such by heart. I'm not sure if this will be effective satire, so I preemptively apologize. Inspired by: "My Life is Not a Manga, or maybe..." by EO Tenkey and "The Simulacrum" by Eganthale. Check them out if you want probably better stories than this one.
