《Eddie Kaspbrak - Don't let go (sequel to YSM)》Part 3

After we all agreed that it's probably time to go and try and think about where to go from here, we all grabbed our stuff and headed out.
"That's what Pennywise does right? He fucks with us?" Eddie said
"Hey Mike, do you have Stan's number?' Beverly asked
"Yeah." He grabbed his phone to give Beverly the number
"Hey Richie!' I heard a kid's voice
We all stopped and turned around to see a little boy, no older than 8 with curly hair stood there
"How do you know my name?" He asked
"The funs just beginning." The kid said smiling, I looked over to Richie to see if he knew what he was talking about, but he looked just as confused as we did "Right?"
"You think this is funny right? You think this is some sort of game? Huh?" He grabbed the kid by the arms "Well fuck you alright!" shaking him a little.
"Rich be careful..." Bill said
"Fuck you! I'm not afraid of you!" He screamed at the boy
"Funs just beginning, the line from your act dude. I'm a fan." He said
"Is that your parents?' He asked pointing over to the people walking over
"Yeah..."
"You want a picture?" Richie said
I rolled my eyes, surprised that the parents didn't kick off at him at this point
"I think I'm good." He said and the little boy walked off with his parents
"Jesus Richie you don't know the lines from your own show?" Mike asked
"yeah well I don't write my own material."
"I fucking knew it! I fucking knew it!" Eddie said as we left the restaurant.
"Hello, my name is Beverly Marsh I'm a friend of Stan's- "I heard Beverly on the phone with Stanley's wife, I searched for Eddie to see him pacing
"Eddie you okay?' I asked
He shook his head
"I'm scared y/n." He said, letting out a little sigh
I sighed 'I think we all are Eds, I guess we all just hoped we finished it."
He nodded "How did we not? I mean we kicked the shit out of him and then he went down the well- "He sighed "Stanley had the right idea by not showing up."
"Don't say that! If you weren't here, I wouldn't know what to do." I said
"Y/n you left me. in this town all on my own- "
"Eddie that's not fair I asked you to come with me."
"You know I can't just get up and leave. I couldn't leave my mum."
I sighed "I know, but you seem happier now, so I didn't do the wrong thing did I?" a part of me wanted him to tell me I did and that I shouldn't have left. That he wasn't happy without me, but I knew he was and its selfish of me to still want him when he's moved on.
He looked at me and was about to say something but we were interrupted
"oh shit" Richie said
I looked at everyone to see all of their faces were filled with sadness

"what's going on?" I asked
"it's Stanley."
"what about Stanley? Is he okay?" I asked
"H-He's dead." Billy said
My heart sunk, an instant sick feeling rising in my stomach.
I walked closer to the group to see Beverly put her phone back in her pocket
It can't be true, he can't be dead.
"Stanley! Pennywise knew... he knew before we did!" Eddie said
"we have to stop it, I have a plan." Mike said grabbing the book
"I have a plan, get the fuck out of here before it ends worse than one of Bill's books. Who's with me?" Richie said holding his hand up, Eddie put his up after him
I grabbed his hand and put it down
"We made a promise to each other."
"Let's unmake the promise!" Richie said
"More people are gonna die." Ben said
"But people die everyday man! We don't own this town shit! Plus, I only just remembered I grew up here like 2 hours ago so I'm fucking leaving!" Richie said walking to his car "Fuck this."
Eddie started to follow him
"Eddie you too?" I asked
"Sorry y/n... he's right we are only going to end up like- " He sighed "We will end up dead."
"So, what we sit around letting more children die? Eddie we all made a promise back then."
"yeah we did, but I guess you don't stick to the promises you make either." He said
My heart dropped, knowing he was referring to me leaving again
"We know how to get to it. We know Pennywise better than anyone else. If we don't do anything no one ever will." I said
"Sorry guys I-im with Richie." Eddie said
Mike stepped forward
"Eddie listen- "
"Listen what? We stay we die, that's it? I'm going back to the inn. I'm packing my shit and I'm driving back to my home. I'm sorry man! Good luck!" Eddie said and walked to his car
"Please Eddie... Eddie wait!" Mike said but he wasn't having any of it and got in his car
"I'm going back too. You coming?" Beverly asked Ben
He agreed and they both went to her car
"Sorry Mike..." I mumbled and got in my car going back to the inn. Even though I was on Mikes side it was a fight we weren't going to win with just the 2 of us on board.
As soon as I pulled up, I headed off to my room and packed my case
A photo fell out of my purse dropping to the floor
I sighed and bent down and grabbed it, it was the photo of us all on the last day of summer.
I sat down on the bed, looking over it remembering the day instantly
"Oi give it back!" Eddie said, Richie was running around the field with his inhaler "I'm serious Richie!"
Richie smirked "Come and get it Eds!"
He groaned and tried to catch up with him
"Hey y/n." Stanley sat next to me and smiled
"hey Stan"
"I don't want to go back to school." He sighed "I wish I was in the same year as you guys."

"Stan you're cleverer than us all put together. You really should be." I laughed "But you still have us in school. I think we've all been through so much there's no getting rid of us now."
He smiled "How's your leg?"
I looked down at my leg that was now finally out the cast, but I still had a slight limp
"it's getting better, it's just a constant reminder you know? Everything Pennywise did to us."
Stanley nodded, out of everyone I know that Stanley wasn't able to cope with it. He never wanted to in the first place and I feel for him. I think out of all of us he still had the most scars emotionally he just didn't act it.
"It's over now though Stan, don't worry."
He gave me a faint smile, one that I could see straight through, but I decided to leave it
"Photo guys!" Mike shouted and grabbed his grandfather's old camera setting it up on the rock
We all gathered around, I put my fingers up behind Stanley's head whilst grinning at the camera
"3,2,1 cheese!" we all said cheese and the flash went off. A memory that will now last forever.
The tears rolled down my face as I remembered Stanley for who he used to be. He was always the sensible one in the group. If only we all listened to him back, then.
I heard shouting, I wiped away the tears, leaving my room and headed down stairs to see what the fuss was about
"You can't just walk away from this!" Ben said
I saw Ben following Beverly with Richie not too far behind "How do you know where he killed himself?"
Beverly didn't say anything and just grabbed her key
"Talk to me! Talk to me like we used to, come on how did you know?"
"Because I saw it." She said, "I've seen all of us die."
Me and Richie both looked at each other, the sickness feeling growing back once again
Eddie came down the stairs with all his bags
"Okay okay just getting my toiletry bag and I'm good to go." He said
I looked over to him
"What did I miss?"
Beverly ignored the question and walked straight to the bar, making herself an alcoholic beverage
"She's seen us all die Eddie." I said
He frowned, dropping his bags and following us all in the room with Beverly
"Wait, what do you mean you've seen us all die?" He asked
"Yeah cause I got to admit that's a fucked up thing to just drop on somebody." Richie said
She wiped away a tear that was falling on her cheek "Every night since Derry I've been having these nightmares of people in pain, people dying."
"So, you have nightmares, I have nightmares. P-people have nightmares but that doesn't mean your visions are true!" Eddie said
"I've watched every single one of us- "Beverly was cut off when Billy and Mike came in
"You've seen every single one of us what?' He asked
Bill took the seat in front of her, waiting for answers
"Go to the place that Stanley wound up." She sobbed "That's how we end."
Before billy could respond Richie interrupted
"So how come the rest of us aren't seeing that shit? What makes her so different?" he asked
"The deadlights." Mike said, and we all remembered. Even though I was captured too he never made me go in the air like he did Beverly, I never saw the lights and got taken to the dark place Beverly did. I was left alone. Now she gets to see what our future looks like, how all this really ends.
"There was only one of us that caught in the deadlights that day." Bill said
"We were all touched by it. Changed like an infection or a virus. A virus, you understand right? Just believe me-' He said but Eddie and Richie moved away from him "This virus that's been growing for 27 years. This whole time, but he just got to Stan because- "
"He was the weakest." Richie mumbled
"Richie..." I said
"Just saying what everyone else was thinking man."
"Richie come on, what Beverly sees will come to pass. It's what will happen to all of us eventually unless we stop it." Mike said
"How the hell are we supposed to do that?" Eddie asked
"The ritual. The first ones who fought it, they have a saying. All living things must abide by the laws in which they inhabit." He said
"Tribal ritual?" Richie said "Are you fucking kidding me man? Right there's going to another way. What this thing comes back every 27 years? Let's just skip the road and leave it until then." Richie said
"What, we will be 70 years old asshole!" Eddie said
"None of us makes it another 20 years if... the way it happens." Beverly started to cry, taking another drink from her glass
"Look guys, I know what Mike is talking about sounds like total horse shit. No offence, but we have no other way. What we just sit on it and let it happen to all those children again? We know things that people don't. No one will believe us if we asked for help, we only believe because we were in this together. We need to stick by each other and at least give it a go. We've all given up things in these last 27 years. I left the love of my life because I was too afraid to live here anymore." I blurted out before I could think about what I was saying
Eddie looked at me surprised.
"If not for ourselves but for Stanley. Our friend. Who took his own life because he was too terrified to fight this thing himself" I said
"Alright guys look... Y/n has a point. I couldn't live with myself knowing we left and let all these kids die because we couldn't do anything about it. I-I've seen what he's talking about. And it's a-a-all true." Bill said
"Okay, it's the only way." Ben agreed
"If we want this ritual to work..." Bill started
"We have to remember." Mike said
"Remember what exactly?" Richie said, we all looked to mike
"Follow me." he said
We all got up hesitantly, following mike out the doors of the Inn and down the street
I followed closely behind next to Eddie.
