I wake up with cold sweat on my forehead and back. It was all just a dream, thankfully. I couldn't afford to loose Carl like that, I'd be broken. As soon as I take a minute to breathe and just calm down I get up and go to dads room. When I peek in the door I start to worry a little bit because he isn't in there. After that I check Rick and Michonnes room but find them gone as well. After that I make my way downstairs to see Carl standing at the kitchen counter feeding Judith. After a second he sees me so I make my way over to him. "Good morning." I say while giving him a quick kiss on his cheek. "Morning to you to." He says smiling. "Um, where did everyone go?" I finally ask. "Oh, they went out on a run." I sigh of relief. "Oh, ok. When are they gonna be back?" Carl shrugs. "I don't know. My dad said they'd be a couple hours at least." I just nod while Carl hands me a bowl of dry cereal. "Thanks." I say while I grab a spoon then sit down. "So. What do you want to do while they're gone?" Carl asks with a smirk. "Well, we should probably stay here just in case something goes wrong. Also so we can stay with Judith." "Ya, you're right." After a couple minutes of silent thinking Carl smirks again. "Can you go up to your room for a while?" "Why?" "It's because I have some things I need to take care of and you can't see." I give him a look and he sighs. "Ok fine, it's a surprise." I sigh sarcastically. "Ugh fine! But this surprise better be good!" He chuckles a little bit. "Oh trust me, it will be!"

After reading 107 pages of a book, Carl finally comes and knocks on my door. I open it to find him standing there with a blindfold. "No. Not a chance." I say jokingly. "C'mon, please?" He hands me the blindfold and then I sigh before putting it on. "Can I even trust you?" "For sure you can!" I chuckle. "Just by you saying that I know I can't trust you!" I say while I finish tying it. "Just take my hand and do what I say." "Eye eye captain." I say doing a mini salute. He just laughs a little and starts leading me down the stairs. Once we stop I can tell we are out on the back porch. "You ready?" He says untying the blindfold but still covering my eyes with it. "As ready as I'll ever be." "Ok. In 3, 2, 1!" When he removes his hand from covering my eyes my jaw drops in shock. "Welcome to our first date." Carl has decorated the back porch with a whole bunch of white and blue lights attached to the mesh screen, along with a couple of blankets on the grass. "Do you like it?" He asks nervously. I turn around and smile at him. "How could I not?" After that he smiles and then he grabs an old iPod Shuffle or some sort of music player. "Do you like dancing by any chance?" I chuckle a little bit. "If it's with you then I don't mind it." He smiles as he presses play. The song 'Dancing In The Dark' comes on and he takes my hand before pulling me close to him. "Addison, ever since I've met you I've been in love with you." I feel my cheeks getting warmer by the second. "I feel the same way." After that I start thinking until I start to wonder something. "Carl." "Ya." "Where's Judith?" "Oh, she's sleeping in her highchair right by the screen door." "Oh ok." After that he twirls me around and then the music finishes. "Where did you get that? Actually, hlw did you get it to work?" "I just found it and it was working then." I just nod as he leads me tl the blanket and we lay down. "We were supposed to do this later when the stars are it but we can do it now." "We can do it now and later?" I say looking at his piercing blue eyes. "Ok." After that Carl grabs my hand and locks my fingers in between his.

As Carl and I are sitting on the couch talking and laughing, while keeping an eye on Judith, we hear a knock on the door. "Race you to the door!" I say as we both get up. When we get to the door he touches it about a second before I do. "I win." He says. "Ya ya, whatever!" When he opens the door he immediately closes it and tells me to hide. "What, why? Who is it?" I whisper as we grab Judith and go upstairs while someone starts banging the door down. "It wasn't dad and them." I sigh. "Who was it then?" I say putting Judith on my back in a baby carrier. He takes a deep breath and then pauses. "It was Negan." My heart stops. "I didnt want to tell you because I kne-" "No, it's fine. It makes me want to kill him even more." With that we climb out the window and make our way to the town, where we hopefully can find dad, Rick and Michonne before anyone else does.

My House of Horrors
The hearse with the weird odor slowed to a stop before the entrance. The sound of pebbles could be heard bouncing on the ceiling. There were footsteps coming from the corridor, and there seemed to be someone sawing next door. The door knob to the room rattled slightly, and the faucet in the bathroom kept dripping even though it had been screwed shut. There was a rubber ball that rolled on its own underneath the bed. Wet footsteps started to surface one after another on the floor. At 3 am, Chen Ge held a cleaver in his hand as he hid beside the room heater. The call he was trying to make was finally answered. “Landlord, is this what you meant by ‘the house can be a little crowded at night’‽”

Follow his gang, as they face off against skirils, exterrals, cultists, and terror beasts in the boundless world full of mysteries. Author’s note: I'm fiddling with an idea of 'gangs in a xianxia world' in this novel. No harem. This is my first novel. Constructive criticism is well appreciated. The release schedule is 5 chapters per week: Monday-Friday.
8 136The Oresteia (Modernized)
All three of the great Greek Tragedians have written plays about the bloody chain of murder and revenge within the royal family of Argos. Yet theirs is in fact not a story of tragedy, but rather one of redemption. As they move from darkness to light, from rage to self-governance, from primitive ritual to civilized institution, their spirit of struggle and regeneration becomes an everlasting song of celebration to be heard throughout the ages. Forming a discourse set against the emergence of Athenian democracy out of a period of chaos and destruction, the Orestian plays are compelling stories of the tensions between our obligations to our families and the laws that bind us together as a society. In the beginning, we witness how a king’s decision to sacrifice his daughter and turn the tide of war inflicts lasting damage on his family, culminating in a terrible act of retribution. In the aftermath of regicide, we behold how a son must set out to avenge his father’s death by committing a most egregious sin. In the end, the sinner is tormented by supernatural powers that can never be appeased, but ultimately finds redemption and ends the curse on his house once and for all. Woven through all of this is the story of a friendship so close that it elevates itself to brotherhood - Where the blood of the covenant is shown to be indeed thicker than the water of the womb. In this very brief twelve-chapter modern rendition of the Orestian plays, I have chosen to place my focus mainly on the lives of the characters Orestes and his best friend Pylades. The chapters, each around 2000-2500 words, are split up evenly between them in first-person narrative. I hope that you will come to enjoy reading this heartwarming story, but more importantly, that you see how the conflicts portrayed in the story, whether human or institutional, are still much very relevant to our societies today. Note on Sources: The details of this story is very loosely based on The Oresteia by Aeschylus. And I mean very loosely. Other sources that I referenced for detail and inspiration are Mythology by Edith Hamilton, Electra by Sophocles, and Iphigenia in Tauris by Euripides. You may also find that I have quoted some of these works, and others (such as Shelley's Ozymondaeus), without citations (average of 1-2 such quotes per chapter). I did this because I do not have the ability to describe certain scenes nearly as well as some of those writers. If you read a particularly beautiful piece of prose here, chances are it's probably stolen lol. Also, I wrote this during the summer between my high school senior year and my college freshmen year. It was the summer of 2020, and being quarantined apparently gets my creative side out lol.
8 191Naga rising (Final version)
Eshanai used to think that her life was pretty good, that the elders of her tribe of Naga sisters had their best interests at heart. But one suspiciously regular disaster after another sort of makes you question things. So when Eshanai decides to go out on the island to do the unthinkable, break some rules, and nothing terrible happens to her like the elders said it would, her questions start to multiply. What else could the elders be wrong about? Were the Naga really chosen by the spirits? And could there be other people out there, beyond their island? Follow Eshanai and some of her sisters as she tries to find a way to leave the island and comes up with increasingly creative ways to get into a certain Oni's pants. Author's note: This is not a rewrite of my original Naga rising story. It's more of a reimagining, as it contains many of the same characters and settings but will have a completely different plot. Be advised that the two are not related to one another. This should not be seen as any form of sequel or prequel story. So I have caught up to my backlog, and at first, I thought I could release a chapter once a week. That turned out to be unrealistic as I am writing in my spare time, so periods of inaction might not be uncommon. Some of the tags might not come into effect until later on in the story.
