《Fandom Imagines and Preferences V》Eric Coulter- Pit (h)

It was pretty common knowledge that your faction was the most ruthless and unforgiving, which was true in some essence, however people believing those words meant that they also believed Dauntless to be without fun and humour – meaning many often wondered why there were so many transfers each year.
You had transferred to Dauntless a few years back and had never regretted that decision once, of course you were scared but once you fell into the rhythm and routine of Dauntless you realised that you couldn't have been in a better place.
Whilst from the outside Dauntless seemed as the most terrifying, people there were happy and had no grievances about being there.
Despite your husband being quite a force to be reckoned with, and quite possibly having the most formidable RBF you had ever seen, he was someone that could make you smile even when you were in one of your worst moods.
And you had never been more grateful for him and your friends.
As it was coming up to the choosing, you and a few of the other leaders had decided to go up to the roof top to run through the last-minute preparations for what you were going to put the initiates through.
Like always, the initiates were going to be told to jump into the chasm below them whilst not knowing that there was a net to catch them – the first test of many that they would encounter on their journey in Dauntless.
Eric was stood on the ledge, staring into space as you chatted to Tori who had come up to watch you all.
"Hey babe, do you think it's a long jump?" Eric questioned you with a smirk on his face.
You rolled your eyes at his comment. "From what I remember, it was basically the most terrifying thing I had ever done."

He chuckled at your answer before gesturing behind him. "How about doing it all over again?"
Jumping down from the ledge he made a run at you and grabbed you into his arms.
You squealed and squirmed as he carried you over to the ledge.
"If you throw me into the chasm, I'm taking you down with me Eric Coulter!"
At that threat, your best friend Four decided to chime in. "Good luck Y/N, you don't have the strength to lift his pinkie let alone drag him down with you."
Glaring at Four, you kicked your foot out and managed to get his arm. "And yet I am stronger than you so what does that say?"
Just as Four was going to respond, Eric chuckled and gave a comment of his own. "Just because you won't fall for someone Four doesn't mean that I won't for my wife."
A couple of the other leaders were snickering to themselves at the words flying between the three of you.
"Aren't Y/N and Eric supposed to sass each other to death?" one called out with a laugh.
Eric chuckled whilst still holding you in his arms. "The only death he'll be seeing is when he eats my food without asking...again!"
Everyone laughed whilst Tori nudged Four. "And yet they team up to sass you. How do you feel having the Coulters against you?"
Four shrugged. "They can't do anything when they're at the bottom of the pit."
And with that, Four surged forward and managed to shove Eric hard enough so that he stumbled back over the ledge into the pit whilst taking you down with him.
You couldn't help but laugh when the two of you hit the net and bounced up multiple times before stopping completely.

"Four I am coming for you!" Eric shouted up to Four who was waving from the top.
Four made a rather rude hand gesture to the both of you before standing up on the ledge himself.
"Your fat ass will crush me!" you yelled up but Four just shrugged.
He made the action of jumping causing you and Eric to scramble off the net as fast as was possible however no Four hit the net.
When you both realised that Four wasn't jumping down, you turned to Eric with what he would describe as a devious smirk on your face.
"So that's him on night shifts with the whiny ass initiates for the next month?"

8 113In Pursuit of Bark's Finest
On the frontiers of transhumanity’s expansion into the galaxy thousands of light years from the light of Sol, things can get rather chaotic. There are countless millions of nascent interstellar nations securing their interests, pirate ships prospering off plunder and deniable mercenary work, dissidents setting up their own civilizations, and other groups all trying to push an agenda. When these groups crash into each other, the results can become extremely messy and convoluted. Recently, a frontier nation calling itself the Red Star Union has found itself at the focal point of one such complication. A freighter under their protection has been sabotaged, hijacked in interstellar space, and robbed of its cargo. This would be bad enough even if all it were carrying was luxury goods, but the freighter Nebula Plow was carrying more than just normal trade goods. Indeed, her cargo of Non-Orientable Wormholes for use in starship power plants was both very expensive and very, very dangerous. Now the Red Star Union has to worry about a pirate crew running around with several extra devices capable of converting matter into antimatter with negligible energy cost. With those, the pirates could be capable of inflicting untold damage if allowed to leverage their ill-gotten gains into a stronger position, a possibility the Union finds completely intolerable. Unfortunately, all that the Red Star Union has to go on for evidence is two names; that of the captain, and that of the ship. The Captain is going by the possible pseudonym of Fuller, while the ship is named Bark’s Finest. And thus the orders came down to the Union’s Bureau of Starforce Intelligence: find more information on these pirates, conclusively identify them, and figure out where exactly they’ve gone to ground so that the fleet can crush them before they get established. Of the many agents that the bureau assigned to this mission, one would happen to play an important role: Field Agent Madeline Zargosty. This is her story. This story is entirely pre-written, and will have one chapter released per week. If you want to read it all ahead of schedule and get access to some premium-exclusive bonus content, the entire book is available for purchase; links to the appropriate storefront pages will be posted at the end of each chapter. This story is also being posted to Scribblehub.
