-----

· Carrying a vampire's child posed risks unforeseen from “normal,” pregnancies. It was understood when the group learned of the news that it would be complicated. Complicated it was with all four eyes watching out for you and nothing your symptoms. Other than that it seemed relatively normal from what you and David had read together.

· David hadn't been much of a baby kind of guy the first time you met him but after learning of your news, he had switched. Uncertain at first but after a super short while he had began to grow fond of the little growing bump you adorned. It was just something about you his mate carrying a part of himself inside you. It had unlocked his fatherly instincts in a way as he anticipated the birth.

· Being kind of headstrong was what David knew you could be like. Playing games to see who would win was not exactly smart either. He knew that if you wanted to go for a walk, then you would eventually get your way. Although so late into your pregnancy at around 6 months was where he wanted to draw the line. It wasn't safe in Santa Carla and that would be why he would go with you.

· As fate would have it, everything would not be fine and dandy. Exercise was good for everyone, good for pregnancy too but after a rather scenic and relatively quiet walk around town, David has known something was up. You had been on your way heading back to the cave when something didn't seem quite right. It hadn't been you throwing up basically ever meal that day as that was supposed to be normal. No, he noticed you had taken more breaks to catch your breath than you normally did but rather than allow him to fly you both back you had insisted on walking the rest.

· The moment he really knew what was wrong was when you had doubled over. The hand that had been resting over your rotund belly fell as he rushed to catch you. Then he noticed the coldness of your skin. Santa Carla was hardly ever cold.

· David won't accept a no for an answer, his solution is to get you to safety. From his eyes you clearly won't be getting back by your own two feet. It's non negotiable as is his senses screaming when you whimper. It couldn't be a birth so soon, or maybe it was? It was touch and go as he flies into the cave and lays you down in your bed. The boys rush to you and ask if you’re okay.

· It’s clear that you aren't alright and he would not even try to hide his stress at this point. So far they had ruled a lot out but the moment David had thought to place his ear to your belly to check your little dumpling, he was far beyond listening to anyone. He was sure he could hear it before, the little ba-dump of a heart beat. Weak but there. Only as he desperately moved all over you to find it, he had realized.

· The root of your pain was your stomach that much was obvious but the moment David pin pointed what specifically was wrong, he was speechless. No little comforting heartbeat. That wasn't right and he didn't want to think the worse but it seemed as though it was the worst. He would still. Thoughts racing through his mind as the cold feeling of realization washed over him. The baby.

· It takes a few minutes for him to even begin to think of what to tell you but the choice had already been made when you asked him why he was crying. David never cried yet his cheeks were wet.

· For a fearless leader who could scare of crowds of people on a regular night out, he looked rather scared. At first it's still in the cave and the emotions are running high, rubbing off on one another as the news is broken. The proper word for it would be miscarriage. David looked forward to having his child with you and as much as he wants to take out his grief unhealthily, he reigns himself in for you. There's no exceptions on the nights that the boys drag him out to feed otherwise he will die. Whoever David ensnares is a goner and not even a peaceful send off.

· As for the foetus you had to deliver, it was a solemn day where the boys all stayed up so that you wouldn't be alone for it. A little bloody mess lay in a bundle- the bundle that was bought specifically for the birth. It wasn't fair- none of it was. A name had been picked out and everything.

· David respected your feelings but 2 days was enough and the little one had to be buried. It's someplace meaningful that you two lay the child to rest along with a grave marker and countless flowers picked from gardens courtesy of the boys.

· It's a long road ahead and David nor yourself will really get over it. It’s slow and painful with regrets and guilt but rest assured you both have each other and the boys help act as glue to make sure everything is taken care of.
