The shudder of an explosion brought Rory out of her unconsciousness. She was still in the ambulance with Jerome. The nurse was leaning over her, placing new bandages over Rory's wound. The sound of Jerome's laughter shot through her like electricity. She gasped.
The nurse jumped at Rory's sudden movement. Rory turned to meet Jerome's eyes. He had a satisfied expression on his face.
"Looks like Jimmy didn't make it," he taunted, as the ambulance drove further away from the hospital. Rory frowned at this and realised what had happened. She started to tear up. Jim didn't save her. She was stuck. There was no way she could escape Jerome.
Jerome had found her, he had taken her and there was no way that anyone could get to her. What was he going to do to her? She couldn't even fight back, not with her stitches. Rory looked back at the nurse, who had sat back down after covering Rory's stomach. Her cheeks were tearstained and her hands were shaking. They made eye contact.
"I'm so sorry," Rory whispered.
The nurse gave her a weak smile. She grabbed Rory's hand and squeezed it hard. She didn't say anything out of fear of Jerome. Rory squeezed the nurses hand back.
"Well isn't that sweet," Jerome jeered.
Rory closed her eyes at the sound of his voice. Neither she or the nurse let go of each other's hands. Jerome leaned over Rory, his hands gently brushing tears from Rory's cheek. She flinched at his touch as a rush of static electricity shot through Rory.
"Let me explain what's going to happen to you, Rory," Jereme continued to touch Rory, his fingers lightly stroking her cheek. Rory was completely tense, fear crawling under her skin like ants.
"Nurse-ie here going to make sure you stay alive. If she doesn't succeed in healing you- well, I've already told her what will happen." he threatened.
The nurse's grip around Rory's hand tightened.
"And after you're all healed up, we are going to get married, and you are going to help me wipe Gotham off the map."
