《naruto character one shots》Marry Me {Madara Uchiha}

Never has there ever been an arranged marriage inside the Uchiha clan. Your fate was decided the day it was discovered that you did not possess the ability to hone chakra. While every single one of your ancestors has had a reputation of being a strong ninja, you were, as they say, "unfortunate" enough to be the lame duck, the "Uchiha with no power".
Because of the war going on on the other side of the river, your parents thought it best to marry you off in hopes of cultivating more strong, hopefully chakra infused ninja. The population of men in your clan was slowly deteriorating and there weren't exactly many "age appropriate" boys, so you were arranged in a betrothal with Madara Uchiha.
Madara was only slightly older than you, by less than a few years. He was an excellent shinobi compared to your more immediate family so how you were engaged to him, you have no idea. You and your fiancé were a lot alike in many ways, but at the same time both of you possess equally different traits. As if you're both at the opposite ends of the stick, more like canceling each other out instead of balancing each other out. Madara could be grumpy and made it very obvious he wasn't ready for marriage. It wasn't exactly the fact that it was you he was going to marry, more the fact that he had only just turned twenty years old. It's not like he planned on starting a family anytime soon, all he cared about was skipping rocks with the man on the wrong side of the river.
You on the other hand are more silent and introverted, but in a bashful way. You're very polite and don't mind your future status of being a mere house wife. Madara Uchiha is someone whom you love and wouldn't mind spending the rest of your life with, even though he never proposed to you himself.

"Madara, who do you think we're inviting to the wedding?" You timidly asked your groom to be.
You and Madara were outside, by the water enjoying the sunshine. He was waiting for his brother to "get back" and you took the opportunity to go over the wedding plans.
Madara was attempting to skip rocks, desperately picking up stones he thought wouldn't let him down in his battle to successfully skid them across the water.
As always, Madara tried to ignore your talk about the wedding. He was being very stubborn with the plans, holding them off over and over and over again. Every time you mustered up the courage to talk to him about it, he shot you down.
"I don't know. Everybody? Nobody? Couldn't we just.. you know; get married. Who says we need a thousand people to witness it? It's already talk of the town, it's not like they need proof." He spieled, as usual. You were actually slightly surprised that he wasn't ranting longer.
You couldn't help but acknowledge the fact that he was right. Seriously, why do you need to invite so many people to watch you two get married? It's not like you're both 'in love'. This doesn't need to be a huge event. Your parents' set you two up for a reason, it's not like this is a celebration between two great Uchiha who will be remembered as powerful shinobi.
"You're right. Let's just have the ceremony and get it over with." You grumbled, allowing him to have his own way.
You noticed he had stopped messing around with the pebbles and when you abruptly stopped your continuous pacing back and forth along the shore, Madara was at your back, his arms crossed over his chest, and his long black hair almost blinding his sharingan, a reminder of another power you'll never awaken.

"Get it over with, huh?"
"I-I didn't mean it like that, I just thought that since you're not exactly ecstatic about the situation, we could just go with your idea." You timidly defended.
For a moment all there was was the sound of the wind meeting the water and your nervous breaths as Madara glowered down at you. His face looked stern, especially because of the shadows cast upon it from your angle. He was several inches taller than you and you couldn't help but feel as if his height expelled more power than usual.
"Hey, I realize you don't exactly like me, okay? You've made it obvious enough that the last thing you want to do is marry me. I could tell that from the second you threw the ring at me but could you please not make this anymore difficult than it already is?"
For a moment you're afraid you've angered him. His eyebrows are raised and challenging, but a small smile cracked on his face, revealing to you a set of slightly crooked, blazing white teeth that seemed to light up his whole face.
You furrowed your eyebrows together, looking up at your beloved. A thousand thoughts raced through your mind and all you wanted to know was what he was thinking.
"What?" You asked nervously.
"You're beautiful." Was his reply as he took a lock of your cropped raven hair and walked around you in a full circle, sizing you up and taking you all in.
No one had ever said that to you. Not even your own mother or father. It's such a simple, easy thing to say, a phrase almost meaningless now, considering how often it's thrown around. You've never fished for compliments, so in turn you've never received them. But to have Madara say such a simple yet meaningful thing to you, it made your heart swell. Although at the same time you felt it too good to be true.
"If you want to get married, we'll get married." He caved in, suddenly developing a change of heart.
"You realize I don't have a say. The marriage is arranged, remember, Madara?"
"But we all know that you'd pick me anyways." He teased.
As you glared at him he couldn't help but laugh.
Little did you know, Madara had always had his eye on you. But you've always been very quiet and polite, sure he really liked those qualities about you, but he really wanted to get to know you.
"If we're going to get married the least you could've done was propose." You grumbled, blowing a strand of hair that fell over your eyes while ignoring his previous statement.
Rolling his eyes, Madara slipped off the engagement ring already on your ring finger and got one one knee.
"I know we don't know each other very well, but for a minute we can pretend that this wasn't already planned. You're beautiful, {Name} and honestly, I'm not disappointed knowing you're my future wife. Abandoning all thoughts of the arrangement, will you willingly marry me?"
A sweet smile appeared at the corner of your lips and you could tell Madara was actually pleading for you to say yes.
Covering your mouth with hot hands you nodded your head in 'yes' and he slipped the ring back onto your finger, getting up but letting his hands linger for a moment.
Picking you up of the ground your fiancé sweetly pressed his lips to yours, and you couldn't help but feel that this arranged marriage was a mere disguise to push you two in the right direction

On a lush planet known as Bhar, Verun is now the leading nation in the development of the rivaled schools of Magic and Science. This conflict dates back to the very beginning of civilization itself, where it is believed by both sides that their gods descended from the heavens, bestowing upon them the knowledge that would bring the world into a new age. And though some took great interest in their differences, others would seek to convert each other through any means necessary. That being the case, The High council, leaders of Verun, had made the necessary preparations to handle threats and attempt diplomacy between the remaining opposers. Talented volunteers were hand chosen to be among the military, tasked with protecting the nation from both internal and external threats. And although non-biological creations have improved quality of life, they are not yet capable of replacing the military.
