《It All Started With A Proposal》Chapter Seven: Princess Belle Costume?

Do you remember when you were younger you'd always imagine your wedding day? The man you got married to and will have to spend the rest of your life with. Well when I was younger I'd always imagine getting married to a very religious man who'd lead me in prayer every day. Seeing Adam standing in front of me reciting Surat Al-Fatiha just made me realize that I did get married to the kind of guy I always dreamed I would.
It's amazing isn't it? After we finished praying Fajr we both sat in a comfortable silence. That is until he reached for my hand and squeezed it as if the moment he let go of it I'd disappear. "You okay?" I asked, concerned. "Yeah," He said as he leaned back against the wall, continuing to to play with my fingers. "It's just at times like these I'd always reminisce you know? I keep thinking, what if I didn't dare you to change my ways? What would I be doing with my life? Would I still be an arrogant jerk?" He looked deeply in thought. "I kind of don't want to know the answers to those questions."
"Don't think of what if, think of what is." I said as I got up and pulled him off of the floor as well. "How come you always know the perfect thing to say?" He questioned curiously. I shrugged in response and took off my hijab, letting my long brown hair fall down to my back.
"It's a gift I guess."
His hand went to my hair suddenly, before I knew what he was doing he was caressing it. "Remember when I first saw your hair?" He chuckled at the thought. "Ugh, don't remind me." I still shutter at the thought of him seeing my hair back then. But now that we're married I feel comfortable with him seeing and touching it.
"You're the most beautiful person I've ever seen." He stated in a matter of fact tone.
"If you say so." I replied as I grabbed my scrunchy and put my hair up. I started walking to the bathroom so I could brush my teeth. He soon followed me and started to brush his teeth as well. Once I was done I turned off the faucet and laid back in bed. Strolling through my phone, I noticed the time and remembered I have class in less than an hour. Shoot! I quickly got up and went into my closet. I'm so going to be late if I don't get ready right now. Walking into my closet, I search for a random abaya and hijab and quickly throw them on. "Where're you going?" Adam said leaning against the closet door.
Instead of talking, I quickly grabbed my hijab and walked passed him. "I have class today." I took out my makeup kit and quickly put on some foundation. I don't usually put on a lot of makeup but right now I feel like making myself look presentable. "Do you want me to drop you off? I have to stop by the company anyway." Adam said as he stared at my eyelash curler as if it was the weirdest thing in the world. "It's okay, I have to go to work straight after." I finished putting on my foundation and started working on my eyebrows next. These things are like beasts so if I don't tame them, they'll go wild. Don't worry, all I do is put concealer around them to make them look thinner.

"Okay, oh shoot! I forgot that my mom wants us to have dinner at her house tonight."
"What time?" I questioned as I still kept my focus on my eyebrows.
"8 o'clock so don't forget."
Over these past two years, Veronica and I have gotten gradually close to one another. I guess since we both missed Adam that gave us something in common. Plus she's really funny and fun to be around with.
I reluctantly got up off of the couch after hearing the door bell to my house ring. All I really want to do right now is lay down and relax because college is really taking a toll on me. Plus the fact that I have to help Ihsan every other weekend. Don't get me wrong or anything because I love my niece to pieces but sometimes I just need to lay down and relax. "Coming!" I shouted as I turned the door knob only to find Veronica waiting on the other side of the door. To say I was surprised to see her would be an understatement. "May I come in? It's kind of cold out here." She asked, shivering a little.
"Of course." I opened the door wider and stepped aside so she could walk in.
"How have you been sweetie? I could sense that you're having a hard time with everything." She asked with concern evident on her face. I guided her to the living room and quickly grabbed a hot cup of coffee for her. "I've been alright I guess, what about you?" I said as I handed her the cup. "I'm okay, just worried about you. I know that you care about Adam a lot and must be missing him."
I winced the moment I heard his name escape her mouth. I've gone a whole week without thinking about him but after she said his name I started to think about what he said to me that day. That he'd come back, that he loved me, if he really did then why would he be gone for a whole year? But what pisses me off the most is that he didn't call me or accept any of my calls for the past 2 months. At this point I'm done with trying to reach out to him.
I shook the thought off quickly and proceeded doing what I was doing before.
"How can I? I love seeing Veronica."
I could sense him smiling behind me once I said that. "She loves you too. She always talks about you, sometimes I think she loves you more than she loves me." He added in a joking tone as he walked into the closet and took off his shirt. All you could see was his tan chiseled abs, damn. It still surprises me every time I see them even though I should already be used to seeing him shirtless. "Could you blame her? I mean I'm the best." I added with a wink. Yeah I think his cockiness is rubbing off on me. "You've got jokes, don't you?"He laughed.
"Who says I'm joking?" I teased him.
"You're cute." He said as he continued changing his clothes.
"I know."
Instead of gawking at him some more, I finished up my eyebrows and moved on to putting on some mascara and lipstick. "Do you want to meet up at the house or at mom's?" I asked as I glanced at him. "Let's stop by the house and then go to mom's together." He responded as he threw on a shirt.

After we both got ready and ate our breakfast, we left the house. "See you later, beautiful." Adam said as he kissed me on my forehead. "Have fun at work, don't think of me too much." I responded jokingly. He let out a laugh with a slight shake of his head.
"My girl is cocky, isn't she?"
"I learned from the best." I gave him a playful wink and got inside my car while he got in his. Ya Allah please let me make it there on time, I silently prayed.
"Here are the papers you asked for Mr. Mathews," My assistant said as he handed me a stack of papers with shaky hands. I could tell that he was afraid I'd be like my father, scary, mean, but boy was he wrong. "Mr. Mathews is my father and I'm nothing like him, just call me Adam." I smiled as I grabbed the stack of papers from him. A look of relief spread across his face after I said that. "Alright sir, I mean Adam." He responded as he closed my office door. I couldn't help but sigh as I stared at the stacks in front of me. Suddenly my phone started to buzz in my pocket indicating I was getting a call, it was Isa. "Salamualaikum bro long time no talk." I said as I held my phone against my ear.
"Walaikumusalam, can we meet up? I need to talk to you about something." He responded. Looking at my watch, I noticed that it was time for me to leave anyway. "Sure where do you want to meet?" I got up off of my seat and grabbed my things.

We decided to meet up at a local Starbucks, the one where Zamzam and I would always meet at. After we got our drinks we sat on the opposite sides of each other. "So what is it bro? You've got me all curious now." I was itching to know what he wanted to talk about. Suddenly a blush crept on his cheeks, I know that look. "How did you know you had feelings for my sister all those years ago?" A look of embarssment came across his face as he looked at me.
"Why?" I smirked as I leaned back. "Does someone have a crush?"
He immediately threw me a shut up look in response. I couldn't help but laugh in response, it's about time he found someone he's interested in. The dude is almost 21 years old for crying out loud, he should be married by now. "Just answer the damn question!" He growled. "Well..." I thought about it for a second. "I just thought of her constantly as cheesy as it may sound, I also began to notice little things about her that I really liked and it gradually turned into things I loved."
"You're right," He said with a smile on his face. "That does sound hella cheesy. What happened to the cocky jerk who never thought of anyone like this?" He playfully punched me on my shoulder.
"That dude is long gone. But seriously who's the lucky girl?"
The smile he had a second ago was now replaced with an embarrassed one. "No one," He looked away.
"Is it Sam?" I guessed.
"How'd you know?"
"Lucky guess, plus I caught you staring at her during the nikkah."
"Whatever," He let out a sigh. "It's not like I could do anything about it, I'm leaving in a couple of months." He said as he took a sip of his drink. "I can't marry her then expect her to follow me all the way to California." Instead of talking we both thought for a while. "My advice would be to pray about it. I mean if it's meant to be Allah will find a way for every to work out. So instead of sitting on your butt like a bum take some action bro. Figure out your feelings and when you're absolutely sure then do what you feel is right for the both of you. But first make sure she feels the same way," I advised. I remember when I was in this situation. I'm not gonna lie, it can be scary. Confessing your feelings to someone without knowing how they feel is terrifying. But I'm glad I did confess my feelings to Zamzam and I'm even more happy that she feels the same way.
"Thanks bro, I needed to hear that."
"No problem."

"How long does it take for someone to comb their hair!?" I couldn't help but feel annoyed standing downstairs waiting for Adam to finish getting ready. This guy takes an hour and a half just to put gel in his hair! I've been waiting for him for literally an hour. "You can't rush perfection babe!" He shouted from upstairs. Rolling my eyes, I grabbed my phone and decided to check up on Sam and Aliyah. I haven't talk to the both of them for over a week. After another ten minutes or so Adam finally came downstairs. "Sorry for taking so long," He said as he pecked my lips. That's the first time we've ever kissed and In Shaa Allah will be the first of many, I thought as I touched the place where his lips once were. "You okay?" He smirked, waving his hands in front of my face. I slapped them away, trying to acting cool.
"Let's go, Veronica is waiting." I was already out of the door and heading into the car. He soon followed me and got into the driver's seat. After five minutes we were already parked at her house. It's been a while since I've visited Veronica, I'm actually excited to see her. She opened the door immediately after we rung the door bell. "Hey guys come in," She said with a wide smile on her face.

"Wait this is Adam?' I couldn't help but laugh at the picture I was holding in my hands. "Aw you look so cute!" I gushed, pinching his cheeks. "I'm not cute I'm handsome!" He said as he slapped my hand away playfully. Veronica and I continued to laugh at him, oh god at this rate I could get a six pack. "I just have one question," I tried my best to contain my laughter. "Why were you wearing a princess dress?" I asked, wiping my tears away. I never thought I'd see Adam Mathews wearing a princess Belle costume ever in my life! This is gold.
"It was a dare okay!?" He looked away in embarrassment. This boy just can't get enough of dares can he? "I have more photos like this in my album." Veronica said as she reached for another album. Adam immediately grabbed a hold of her hand, preventing her from grabbing them. "Please don't show them mom." He pleaded.
"Sorry sweetie," She patted his head before grabbing the album.
It's official, I have the coolest mother-in-law ever.

But it isn't long before he notices that the world is far too perfect. Just why is everyone so nice? Can Peter accept the alien morality of this world's self-proclaimed protector, or will he seek to overthrow her? Set after the events of A Lonely Dungeon, a few hundred years after the rebirth of civilization, this is a story about an earthling falling into Erryn's new world and the subsequent struggles of himself and Erryn to understand each other. The Empty Valley Cries Unheard
The stories can be read at any order. Phew, this story was finally finished at last! What could I say, it was a hell of a ride when I wrote it from the beginning to end. Thanks for having me on RR :D All the current chapter had already done a run on Grammarly, so hopefully it'd be more readable. ...kinda feeling lazy so calling off the edits for now. A couple of old / new attempts of combining Horror, Comedy and Absurdist elements. I'm not very good at writing Horror stories but I'd like to try once in a while. Although the first chapter may be completely screwed up, believe me--I mostly write fluffy gay scenes between two girls. It would PROBABLY become a lot lighter as we moved up the chapter count. Not for the faint of heart, but if you're like me who like some absurd or nonsensical stories, this might be right up your alley. Sorry in advance if some of the chapters seem normal lol additional tags : nonsense / absurd / parody

A Demon Lord's Reincarnation
Selina’s got a pretty active imagination. When doing math, she pretends that she is a great detective solving a heinous crime! Ordinary tasks, like a trip upstairs, turn into a perilous adventure to raid a dragon’s cave! She believes that life should be full of wonder and magic, and tries to force the world to cope with her conviction! But when Selina wakes up to remember her past life as the Demon Lord, she has to face the fact that real life is messy, and not anything like what she imagined. With ancient powers stirring, family problems, and the hectic life of a teenager, Selina will have to discover more about herself if she is going to survive the trials ahead. With the help of her best friend and a fair share of luck, she might just get through this alive. Maybe. (Updates (hopefully) on Sundays) This story started out as a flipped isekai. Instead of a hero being pulled into a medieval world, a Demon Lord is pulled into the modern world. It has since moved a bit beyond that initial premise but it is the foundation of the work. Along the way, I threw in dragons, elves, dwarves, and some vampires (but no werewolves, gotta nip that in the bud) all wrapped up in the political drama of a modern world. The story, however, will mainly focus on the characters and their development and as such, is a bit of a slow burn. It may take a couple of chapters to get into. You have been warned! (PS, please show patience for the author's notes. They're a bit crazy and don't always make the most sense. The author's a bit of a ditz. Please ignore him.)

Blood & Noodles
[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] As they always have, humanity hunts the gods roaming the world, craving the supernatural power that flows within their veins. Even a drop is zealously guarded, passed from master to student through the ages. It is with this stolen power that the Blooded - those with divine blood coursing through them - grasp beyond mortality and achieve prestige, power, and greatness. Yet, for every fraction of power gained, thousands perish, slain by the gods' supernatural prowess. But everything is beginning to change. Eight years ago, for the first time in human memory, a god was felled. Part-time chef and full-time nuisance Orvi wants nothing to do with gods. Living in a derelict city, his only concerns are ensuring his adopted family's restaurant is prosperous and how to best beat the neighbourhood boys in a fight. If he's lucky, he might even snag a date with the farmer's daughter at the market. But even though he cares nothing for the gods or their blood, the world won't leave him alone forever. Because to reach godhood, one must first leave their humanity behind. *** The first arc of Blood & Noodles follows the adolescent Orvi as he attempts to navigate his rapidly changing home and - by his own definition - protect his family. The story is told almost entirely in the first-person, from the perspective of a teenager who isn't always the sharpest tool in the shed. There are tragic elements, especially in the current arc. It's character-focused and driven, though the protagonist's shenanigans are backdropped by a world operating independently from him. Orvi's a generally light-hearted character, and though the story veers into darker territory, I also want it to be able to make readers smile. Action sequences, despite the fantastical elements, are meant to be grounded and clearly-conveyed; Orvi is a brawler, not a warrior. I'm trying to write a story that's enjoyable to read and flows nicely, mainly because it's more fun to write. I'm also trying to improve my writing, so any feedback, whether positive or negative, is welcome!
