《You Belong To My World (Completed!)》Chapter 19: What's Up With Arthit's Dad?

"The future changed. The accident was supposed to happened at 11am, but it happened at 1pm instead.
"Wait. Hold on." I was trying my best to process all the information Kongpob had just thrown at me. "How can the accident time change? You told me no matter what happened, no matter how much the future changed, the accident never changed."
"It didn't. But about 15 minutes ago I had this massive headache. The outcome didn't change. We are still at the same point in the timeline, but somehow the timing of the whole accident shifted by 2 hours.
I waited for you longer than I did in the last timeline. Your text saying you have a personal emergency arrived late, and then I left with my dad right after. I remember the clock in the car was at 1:10pm when we had the accident."
"This doesn't.. this doesn't make sense Kongpob. Either the accident should happen or it shouldn't happen. Why is there a two hour difference suddenly?"
"I don't know. I am trying to think if I have any new memories that would explain this."
Kongpob pulled me by the waist and gave me a grim look. "But first, you need to tell me who you kissed because I really can't focus on anything else right now."
I looked at him all confused. "Kong is that really the most important thing here?"
"It is, to me" "I kissed you, Kong. Who else would I kiss? You don't have any new memories of that yet?"Kongpob was taken aback. "Uh. No." He titled his head and looked at me with teasing eyes. "But you really kissed me?"
"Kong, we are literally two days away from the accident. We can discuss all of this later.
You need to sit down and think about your new memories so that we can understand why the accident changed suddenly."
He took a deep breath. "Okay. But we definitely need to discuss this later.
Lets think about the other thing for now. What did you do today? May be something triggered the change?"
"I had lunch with mom this afternoon. We talked a bit. I asked her to have breakfast together on the day of the accident, like we planned"

"And she said she would meet you?"
"Yes, of course. She also told me she isn't drinking at all and she has been taking her medicines regularly. Nothing out of the ordinary there"
"What did you do after lunch?"
"I went to the college for SOTUS meetings. In the evening, you texted me saying you were at the college admissions office and wanted to meet. Then.. we met for sometime and I came back home."
"You..you gave me a tour of the college...?
"YES! Do you remember it now?"
"Wait... HOLD UP. You... Arthit you really kissed me at the SOTUS hall?" Kongpob had his hand on his mouth and his eyes looked like they'd pop out any second.
"It was just a light peck and it wasn't that —"
"It wasn't a light peck. I remember there was some tongue action"
"KONGPOP SHUT UP. Can we focus on the other thing here please? I am scared I messed things up by meeting you today"
"Okay, I won't tease you, but Arthit, I don't think you messed anything up.
If anything, I think we are moving in the right direction. The accident finally changed, even if it was just by a few hours, but it did change. We just need to make slight adjustments to our plan."
"What kind of adjustments?"
"You need to stay with your mom for longer or have someone there to look over her? If your mom doesn't reach the site of the accident, there would be hopefully no accident at all."
"I could ask Bright and Prem for help."
"Good. And you also need to find a way to make me stay home, even if you don't show up at all. May be cook up some excuse?
"I'll think of something. But Kong..."
"Hmmm..."
"How will I know that I changed the future and stopped the accident from happening? I think we should decide on a time when we need to meet at the apartment"
"No Arthit" Kongpob cupped my cheeks. ""
"What—what does that mean?"
"If the accident doesn't happen at all, I would never become an actor or come to stay here in this apartment. I moved here because it was close to dad's hospital.

"So...I won't be able to see you again Kong?"
"Of course you will, Arthit. You will find your Kong in your college and you can see him anytime you want. .
"Three years later, when we have avoided the accident and we are hopefully still together, I'll wake up next to you all confused and that's when we'll meet again"
"But Kong, that's still three years away" I couldn't stopped my tears anymore.
"I know. But you will still have me Arthit. I won't go anywhere. I'll be right there with you. I promised. Remember?"
I was quiet. I didn't know what to say.
"And Arthit, if something gets in the way and we are not able to change the accident. Don't dwell in it too much. Don't cry too much. Don't feel guilty. You tried your best. Remember, you are an amazing son and your mom loves you a lot.
More than that, you need to remember to get help. Go to therapy before things get bad and you start having panic attacks. The sooner you deal with it, the better you will become."
"If-If the accident does happen, will I still be able to meet you here in the apartment?"
"I hope so. I wouldn't want you to go through all that alone. I will stay in the apartment all day on the day of the accident, so you can come to me any time. But I really hope I wouldn't meet you that day."
I hugged Kongpob tightly. Whether we stopped the accident or not, I would still be losing a part of Kong and I was just not ready for it. I loved every version of him.
"I just want things to fall into their right place Kong"
"They will, Arthit. I won't lose you ever again."
The next day, Arthit went out to put our plan in motion, and I decided to investigate more into the accident to see if I could find any details that might help Arthit. I also wanted to look more into Arthit's father. Something just didn't sit right with him.
In my first timeline, Aim had told me that Arthit didn't know about her mother's death for a year. He was still attending college and he was the head hazer while Aim was a freshmen.
His dad must have obviously known, but why didn't he tell his only son about his mother's death? Even after the first and the second time the future changed, Arthit's father never attended his funeral or even cared for his son at all.
Sure, he might have been angry after finding out Arthit was gay, but did he really hate Arthit this much? I decided to call Bright before going out to investigate more.
"Hello Bright?"
"What do you want Kong?"
"Ah. I just wanted to talk to you about something Bright. Can you spare a few minutes?"
"Sure Kong, I will spare a few minutes for you. But first, you need to tell me why you didn't even show up at Arthit's funeral? You said you loved him."
"Of course I loved him Bright. You know that. I just — I wasn't strong enough to attend his funeral. I don't know what to do with a life without Arthit"
"Arthit was a good guy and honestly Kong, he deserved someone better than you"
"Yes, you might be right about that Bright" I took a deep breath. "Actually Bright, I called you to ask about Arthit's dad. Did he come to the funeral?"
"No of course not. That man is a leech. He couldn't care about his son when he was alive. He remarried a month after Arthit's mom died. Now that Arthit is dead, he can finally claim all the property Arthit's mom left for him. Why would he care to come to Arthit's funeral?"
"He remarried a month after? That soon?"
"Yeah. I think he was already having an affair. He even took all of the Arthit's inheritance and didn't give him a penny.
You didn't know about this? May be Arthit just didn't want to talk about his family."

The Ruined Monks of Rothfield Monastery
Erin is the youngest member of the dark monks; a supernatural brotherhood whose ultimate mission is to improve the dire circumstances of poor, war-torn villages using powers unique to each member. Or so he was led to believe. Erin, like his brothers, does not age, and that is, unfortunately, the only trait he shares with them. He cannot charm or compel like Woodrow, he cannot cast illusions like Knox, he was not swift like Swithin, not powerful like Blake. He was barely an assistant to his dear brother Wilbur, with his herbology and alchemy. He was told to lie low and make himself scarce. That is what he did. The dark monks temporarily reside in abandoned monasteries scattered around the country, feeding the poor and healing the sick, nurturing the monastic lands until it was fertile enough to raise crops and rear animals. As the years passed, they would leave these reformed, repopulated, self-sustaining monasteries and venture froth to help the next settlement. Yet, after years of toiling and quiet servitude, Erin notices that people and the country itself are declining. The villagers look gaunt, the once-lush soil now barren and cracked. He begins to feel disheartened, thinking that their mission is proving futile. Still, their leader Blake is steadfast and charges onward, and lately has his eyes set on a certain monastery in a thick, thorned forest that seems to diminish, even nullify their powers. A thick forest that Erin somehow has a connection to. A thorned glade where an ethereal voice calls his name with one simple request along with a promise:Heal the land, child. Heal the land and I promise to give you sanctuary so long as you stay. I promise to nurture you as you nurture me. As Erin cultivates the land, the land, in turn, gifts all its caretakers with new, enhanced skillsets on top of their unique powers -- skills of protection, healing, and magic. Magic. Erin had long wished to see the world fill with it again. The people, regardless of common or noble blood, still believe that magic will enter this world again. Magic to bless the king like it did the Saints. Magic to dispel the miasma befouling the world. Magic to bring back the fae folk and their many forms. It is up to Erin to forge the many paths leading to a bright future; to build a prosperous paradise that welcomes all races and bloodlines, by mastering the rewards gained through agriculture, horticulture, and animal husbandry, smithing, crafting, and fishing. Erin may also find a lifelong friendship and romance with his neighbor, Claude, if he decides to pursue him, and may even join him in the military campaign outside the monastery. The darkness still lurks outside, after all, and the mastery of his skills, along with a few good friends, may finally be enough to turn the tide in their favor. Most of all, Erin wants to keep the vow he set for himself: to protect everyone and everything he loves until his dying breath.
